Ashleigh House is the former homestead of the Meaney family. A three hour drive from Dublin airport and a 20 minute drive from Shannon airport, the house is in the heart of one of Ireland’s most picturesque counties – County Clare. 45 minutes to the east you will find the lake district of the mid-west and its surrounding mountains. 30 minutes to the west is the blue Atlantic with its multitude of beaches, towering cliffs and quaint fishing villages. A 10 minute drive will have you in the county capital: Ennis. This town is one of Ireland’s jewels - known as the capital of Irish music -you’ll not struggle to happen upon a cosy pub in winter with a big fire surrounded by traditional musicians and the uniquely Irish fun and chatter known as craic that goes with it.
Ashleigh house has five main bedrooms, two sitting rooms and a conservatory and sits next-door to the current Meaney family home. All bedrooms are en-suite, centrally heated and adorned by an open plan kitchen. A flagstone patio to the south of the house makes the perfect area to enjoy good weather should you be lucky enough to encounter it! The attention to detail, heartwarming hospitality and excellent base location sees visitors returning to Ashleigh house every year. Drop Tom and Rita an email for more details on how they can help you feel at home in Ireland.
Keywords: Ashleigh House is situated on the Ennis/Galway Road (N18). Ideal touring base to the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Castle Banquets. Golf & Fishing locally. Angling at Dromore Lake 3km away. Shannon Airport 15 mins Limerick Galway road.

Our family, nine adults and two small children, made Ashleigh House the base for our one week visit to the west of Ireland and it was perfect! Rita and Tom were so helpful and welcoming as we made our plans and during our stay. Some of us arrived at the house after driving from Dublin and had to go immediately to Shannon Airport to pick up the rest of our clan. We were weary, jet lagged, and in a hurry. Tom offered to hop in and go along and made it smooth and easy and they were just as helpful and kind in every way during the rest of our stay. The house - excellent for our group! The large sunny sittling room had room for all of us and had comfy furniture for reading. The sitting room with the peat fire was perfect for late evening talking, laughter and Jameson's! The small sitting room off the kitchen was just right for an early morning cuppa', or when one of the children needed a little quiet time. The bedrooms were great, we actually could have fit a few more comfortably. Some fine cooking was done in that kitchen and we found it well equipped, but if you think of anything else you need Rita and Tom are just next door and happy to help! The location was excellent for day trips to the Burren, the Cliffs of Moher, Dingle, Cashel, and Waterford. Ennis is very close for music, food and shopping. Cannot say enough good things about our experience. We only hope that if Rita and Tom are ever over in the states that they come and visit us!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our first time to Ireland was wonderful. First, the property is as is shown in the pictures. Actually it is more spacious than the pictures might show. It was a great location for us. We were able to go to the cliffs of mohr, Galway, dingle peninsula, adare, blarney castle, cork dublin (a day trip) Killarney castle and Waterford. Even though it was the holidays, Rita and Tom were available to answer any quests we had. I wouldn't hesitate staying at Ashley house. Perfect for a family or a small group traveling together.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for this excellent review. Our house is quite spacious and was previously an approved bed and Breakfast and we are located in an ideal touring base especially since our new road structure you can access most places in Ireland on day trips.

the house is exactly as you can see in the pictures: warm and loving! So are the owners, Tom and Rita. Their hospitality exceeded our expectations by far. Their recommendations for restaurants (I won't tell that one! It has to stay an insider's tip :-)), music, sightseeing, sports (surfing in lahinch for my son and the amazing hurling match for me!! :-)) and shopping (books books books :-))) were fantastic. And they were so very helpful and understanding when I had this problem with my ear ache, Rita even accompanied me to the doctors to help me make him understand my troubles! Awesome! And I have to say Rita is even the better doctor than the one I went to see, SHE gave me the medicine that helped when nothing from the doctor helped... a simple panadol express :-)) Our trips to Bunratty Castle, Cliffs of Moher, Galway, Limerick, The Burren (and Poulnabrone Dolmen) were fantastic, we loved every minute of it. Even Bridget's Well was worth a visit if only for the name :-) We sure will go back to Ashleigh House!! Tom's hot whiskey and a hurling match are just SO tempting :-))Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Ashleigh House was absolutely AMAZING! This was our FIRST trip to Ireland and we were thrilled with how fantastic this house was. From the beginning stages of planning our trip Tom and Rita were so helpful. They always answered emails promplty and were always very patient with me. Altogether, I traveled in a group with nine people and as you can imagine it takes a lot of time to organize such an event. First and foremost, the house was beautiful. Upon arrival there were fresh warm scones with butter and jam waiting for us. The owners most precious pup was waiting to greet us. And we immediately felt right at home. The house was just as described in the post and the pictures were accurate. Each room was spacious, comfortable and impeccably decorated. The entire house was so roomy and we all agreed that it was the perfect amount of space for nine people (if not more). There was ample amounts of seating for night that we decided to hang in and were even able to enjoy the company of our property owners one evening. I can not say enough great things about this family or their property. We spent our week traveling up and down the coast and this was a great location to see it all (if you don't mind doing a little driving). We spent one day in Cork, The Ring of Kerry, Adare, The Aran Islands/Cliffs of Moher, Dublin, and Galway. We did put quite a few miles on the rental car but it was totally worth it. Thank you so much Tom and Rita for the hospitality you showed us during our visit. This was by far the best trip I have ever been on.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
