Our family of 6 all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wilderness Haven. In addition to beautiful surroundings and our rustic, cozy cabin we immensely enjoyed the hospitality of our hosts, John & Gerri. Both of them made us feel like family and created memories for our children that we will cherish for a lifetime. Our only complaint was that our stay was too short! We definitely hope to return for a longer stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
Owner response: It's always a pleasure to offer hospitality and fun to families. We enjoy your stay as much as you do! :)

The environment at this resort was perfect for my family. We had so much fun we didn't even think to go into Hayward, and my two boys never even asked to go go carting, mini golfing, etc.. they wanted to stay put at the cabins. The fishing is great! My older boy kept a line in the water almost all weekend, and my younger boy played on the zip line! John, Gerri, and Sean are fantastic! They truly made us feel at home, and we're soooo excited to go back! I can't think of a better place to take my family camping. Thank you so much Prickette family..Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1995
About the owner: After an extensive career in public service, John bought Wilderness Haven in 1995. He enjoys sharing the great Northwoods with guests from all over the world.
Why the Owner Chose Hayward:
The local atmosphere is so friendly and unique. For a small town to have world class events such as the Fat Tire bike race in September or the Birkiebeiner Cross Country Ski Race in February, local theatre, street festivals, unique shopping, and all the outdoor activities make it not only desirable to visit, but also to live here!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Wilderness Haven is close enough to town for convenience, but far enough away to enjoy wildlife. It is not uncommon to greet black bear, deer, bald eagles, foxes, or bobcat after running into town for milk and eggs! Fishing at Wilderness Haven is one of the main draws. It is amazing the quantity of fish and wonderful experinces Spring Lake provides.
