Located less than 20 minutes from Newark Liberty Airport and right across the Hudson River from New York City that can be reached in a short commute (by NJ Transit buses, PATH trains or NY Waterways Ferries), Hoboken is one of the best places to stay when visiting the area. The Mile Square City is a safe place for families offering a diversity of restaurants, boutiques, parks and playgrounds, and definitely the best views of Manhattan, all within walking distance.

Located on the 3rd floor of a historical brownstone building, this newly renovated (April ’11) condominium is ideal for a family of 4-6. The master bedroom sleeps 2 adults (queen size bed), the children’s bedroom sleeps 2 (bunk beds), and the extra room sleeps 1-2 (convertible bed). We can accommodate a maximum of 4-5 adults (adults are not permitted to sleep on the top bunk bed for safety reasons). A fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a dishwasher will make preparing dinner for your family a pleasure. Relax in the small living room to watch TV, play board games, or surf the Internet.

There is nothing easier than getting to the Big Apple from here! The apartment is located two short blocks away from NJ Transit bus stop that will take you to Time Square in less than 15 minutes. A 20-minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride will take you to the PATH station, where you can catch a train and be at the World Trade Center site in 10 minutes, Greenwich Village in 10 minutes, or 33rd street in 15 minutes.

Spend your days sightseeing in the Big Apple and come back home to Hoboken to enjoy a home cooked dinner (grocery stores nearby), play with the kids, and relax.

You may also decide to take a break from the Big City and relax in Hoboken, where there is plenty to do. Have lunch/dinner at one of the many ethnic restaurants, stroll around the birth town of Frank Sinatra, walk by the original baseball field, go up the hill and take a walk in the beautiful campus of Stevens Institute of Technology to enjoy a magnificent view of Manhattan from the George Washington Bridge all the way to the Financial district, shop at the many unique boutiques on Washington street, and take a peek inside Carlo’s Bake Shop that hosts Cake Boss, the TLC reality TV show.

Fun for kids… Take your kids to the playground (5 of them within 10 minute walks) or enjoy one of the many drop-in classes for toddlers and children only a few blocks away (music, yoga, puppets).

We use paypal for easy and safe transactions.

We speak English, French, and Thai.

This apartment worked out great for our trip to NJ/ NYC. Great location with easy access via bus, train, or ferry to NYC. Tons of shops and restaurants. The instructions for the apartment were easy to follow. It is up a few flights of stairs and not much closet space but it's very charming and a great price!

Superb organization and communication from the owners. Well documented rental agreement and apartment details, very prompt replies to all questions. The apt was very comfortable for our family (4 adults, 2 kids), very clean and well maintained. Location was great. The walk to/from the Path station was nice and easy, and a quick, inexpensive, cab ride on the few times we decided not to walk. We are already talking about our next trip to visit NYC and will definitely be looking to stay here again.

Having traveled across the country with my young family over the years, staying at the Garden Street Apartment in Hoboken was one of our best stays to date. Great location, charm and cleanliness. The location was superb, close to NYC and the proximity to the neighborhood shops and market were simply a bonus. City transit was all we used during our stay - convenient and economical. The train into the city was just 15 minutes from our door step. Within 30 minutes from our apartment departure we were standing in the heart of NYC. The cleanliness of the apartment was impeccable. The updated kitchen and appliances made us feel right at home. Our only regrets were that we did not plan for enough time...Hoboken has so much to offer. The agenda on our next trip will include spending more time exploring the unique shops and restaurants just steps away from our apartment...our new home away from home. Our two favorite stops included 'Home of the Largest Slice' - Benny Tudino's and Ralph's Favorite Italian Ices. So much more to explore...

We decided to try this option because the hotels in Weehawken and Hoboken increased their prices dramatically. We really enjoyed the location since it was very close to Stevens, where we were helping our son move into residence. It is also within easy walking distance to buses, the Path train and the New York Port Authority Ferries. We chose the Ferries most of the time when travelling to Manhattan, even though it is a more costly choice, since they are frequent, fast and pleasant to travel on, even in rush hour, with free buses on the New York side to take you close to the most popular destinations. The apartment is only a block from Washington street where there is an amazing array of restaurants from Italian to Indian dining. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well appointed. My younger son really enjoyed having his own room instead of having to share like we would have if we were in a hotel.

We had a great time in the flat. We stayed there for 5 nights over Christmas. The owners even prepared a Christmas tree for us! We were very happy when we got there. We were a family with 4 people (27, 29, 56 and 56 years old). At Christmas eve my cousin (30) and her little daughter (1,5 years old) joined us and there was enough space for everyone. All appliances we needed were there. Even toys for the little girl were available. The flat is located in a very good place, in a charming neighborhood and very close to the busy NYC. Every time we went to NYC to do sightseeing we were very happy that we could go back to such a cosy place to rest. This is a place I can suggest to anyone that wants to visit the NYC region and stay in a comfortable place with friendly neighbors and reliable owners.

We rented this apartment as an alternative to high priced and busy hotels (and condos) in NYC. What a fantastic idea! The apartment was blocks from bus #126 to NYC transit and close to area restaurants. We arrived with no problem, parking our Jeep in Park on Park st, recommended by Severine. We felt comfortable and secure and walked many times to Lisas deli (for lunch and breakfast), just down the block, as well as to the Institiute (where we took pictures of the NYC skyline at 11 pm). The apartment itself was very comfortable and perfect for a family. If you are questioning renting in NY or Hoboken, DONT! See the city by day and/or night, then relax in NJ. Its not a hassle unless its rush hour, and we timed ours perfectly to that, got a real good taste of NYC MASS transit for sure. It was nice coming back to a neighborhood we could walk in and an apartment that gave us room to breathe. This would not have been possible in other options we had looked at. My husband even walked around smoking his cigars. Oh, and yes, the apartment is about 15mns walk to Carlo's bakery, which we visited once w/ no wait and quite by accident. Second time, not so lucky. WE never had problems and I most certainly would stay again. This is my only choice for accomidations when I return again. Pictures are accurate, however the futon is really meant for 2 small children or one adult. Dont even try more. Thank you again Severine and Peerasit. We truly enjoyed our trip to your city.

We had high hopes for our stay in Hoboken, given the very positive reviews we had read on this site. With two young children, we did not like the idea of staying in an over-priced, crowded and noisy hotel in New York City, even though our plan was to spend most of our time there. We were not disappointed! To the contrary: The apartment was wonderful. Spacious, clean, well furnished - and we loved the little things, such as the great collection of guide books, and the cute collection of toys and books for young children. Our 5 and 3 year old loved the ferry ride to Manhattan, and the evening strolls through Hoboken. It added to our vacation experience, no doubt. We will be back, most certainly - Thank you Severine!

Owner response: Thank you very much for the great review! We try our best to accommodate families and always found it helpful to find guide books in the apartments that we rented in the past years. We also do love Hoboken for the two reasons you mentionned! love the stroll especially along the Hudson river and the short ride to Manhattan! Hope to see you again, it was wonderful to meet you and your family.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2011

About the owner: We are a family of four used to traveling abroad with small children. There is nothing better than finding a home away from home. When we realized that hotels were not an option for us any more, we were so happy to find vacation rentals where we could have more space, cook our own food/baby food, and relax. However, some of the places we found were not very kid friendly. So, we furnished our apartment with families in mind. By providing parents all cooking utensils and appliances they will need to make yummy home cooked dinners, and by providing children their own room, we are hoping to make your stay as a family in the New York City area even more enjoyable.

                      Why the Owner Chose Hoboken:
We fell in love with Hoboken when our kids were born. This city is great for children, and you’ll see why when you come visit! It has the feel of a small village where everything is within walking distance. Yet it is so close to NYC! An easy commute away, it feels like you live in a neighborhood of NYC.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Great price for a great location! You will not be disappointed!
