Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful time. My kids had a great time also, back and forth to the beach everyday. We loved all of the decorations in the house, and how comfortable we felt while we stayed here. I grew up in Morro bay and lived just about a 1/2 mile away from here up the hill. I recommend this house to anybody who is looking for a great and relaxing time.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Found this home through VRBO. Pictures do not do it justice. It is the biggest house we have stayed in in the area, and it is definitely not the most expensive. There are nicer homes with super upscale interiors right on the beach in Cayucos, but they will cost you $500 a night - not worth it when you could stay here. This house is also closer to Morro Bay, and places to ride bikes, and get out and do things. The owners did a great job creating an interior feel within a large home that stays intimate with the energy of the downstairs focused on the wonderful view of the beach. The deck is great too, our sons loved hanging out on the deck at sundown. If only there was a jacuzzi! The garage clearance is low. Our lifted truck would not clear, but a stock height SUV or truck should just make it. The owner warned us about this beforehand. The house is very clean inside, and all of the amenities and plumbing worked up to spec. The washer and dyer and dishwasher all work well. Some homes in this area do not have dishwashers or dryers we have found, which is a major pain if you had kids. I had to call the owner twice to get in touch with him, but it worked out for the better. The owner (Chuck) was helpful in explaining the odds and ends of the property. I would recommend this property to anyone looking in the area. The home is large and beautiful and comfortably sleeps enough people to bring friends or additional family. A lot of homes in this area are a rip off, you pay $300 a night and they have enough room for 3 midgets. The only reason this home gets 4 stars is because the password for the wireless internet was missing, the owner says he has since corrected this. Great place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

WAS ABLE TO BRING OUT DOG. Fun place for 1 or more families. My husband and his friend were very sad over Super Bowl weekend that this beautiful home is still equipped with a CRT Tv! I was told an upgrade is in the works by the owner. For the girls...great place. Cute kitchen, everything you need to make a big meal. HAS A DISHWASHER unlike many vacation homes in this area. All the pots, pans, utensils to even make a full thanksgiving dinner with no sacrifices. Beach is very close through State camp ground. My boys enjoyed having a fire in one of the provided areas in the camp ground. Everything in the central coast isn't far from here. Do some research before you go, but this home (like others in Morro Bay) is convenient to Heart Castle, San Luis Obispo and all the sites. Price is much lower than many similar homes. Only thing lacking is a modern TV or 2 equipped for the guys to watch their favorite games.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

This house is nicer and larger than any my husband and I have owned in our life time (we are from San Francisco). I can not believe how beautiful it is inside and how well everything is maintained. The owner has installed a gorgeous custom kitchen and furnished all the bedrooms and restrooms wonderfully. Lots of attention to detail and very clean. The yard is large and well-kept, and Orcas Street opens right onto the beach. No crossing roads or highways! You can easily sleep 8-10 people in this home with room to spare. There is also a large dining room and family area. My husband and I first came in 2009 by ourselves, not knowing what to expect. We have since invited friends to come with us. This house is everything they claim. We have been going to Morro Bay for 6 years, DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY RENTAL AGENCIES! There are lots of homes on this site and others that are terribly misrepresented by the pictures and information. We have paid more than we paid to stay in this wonderful home to stay in small, cramped homes on the east side of the 1 that were dumps in real life. This is the nicest home we have stayed in in Morro Bay, but it is not always available (I suspect the owners use it regularly, I would). Call early if you want to stay. I can not wait to go back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My wife and I originally found this property on VRBO when the owner Chuck had it listed several years ago. We are retired and this is our favorite thing we do all year. This home is nicer than any I have owned in my lifetime, and we and our grandchildren are very grateful to stay in such a beautiful place. The owner and his family are the nicest people. We first stayed here in the summer of 2007 and they just keep fixing the place up and making it nicer and nicer. They are very accommodating and have added internet access, that is easy to use and always works. The pictures do not do this property justice (Chuck you should work on it!). The home has granite counter tops, custom cabinets, beautiful bedrooms, a deck with a great view, and lots of landscaping. The 2 car garage is large, and our car (an SUV) actually fits unlike some of the older homes we had rented in the past in this area. I do not ride a bike anymore, but my grandchildren do, and they take advantage of the nearby bike trails through the Cloister park. If you stay here, take the time to walk or ride these beautiful paths on your way into Morro Bay. I have no stayed in every home in Morro Bay, but I do not think you can beat this one. We have always written in Chuck and Susan's guest book, but I saw in their documentation they had launched a website and were back on VRBO, so I came to give them the review they deserve.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Chuck and Susan first came to the central coast in 1986 with their one-year-old son Chip. At the time, it took all the discipline in the world to save every penny they had to take a vacation as young newly weds. The beauty, quiet mystery, and home-away-from-home feeling of the central coast changed their lives forever. In 2005, they realized their life long dream when they bought the Orcas House. The house was in a poor state of repair and Chuck, a life long property manager for the rich and famous, poured his sweat and blood into creating the most beautiful vacation home possible for his family and guests to enjoy. When Chuck and Susan are not in Morro Bay, they are running their commercial property management business, they are the proud parents of four boys ages 26, 23, 21, and 14. Guests of the Orcas House will notice its lush landscaping-a passion of Chucks, and the water color paintings in the interior-a passion of Susans. Chuck and Susan hope you enjoy your stay in their home, it is their pride and joy.
Why the Owner Chose Morro Bay:
The Central Coast is the most beautiful place on earth and offers easy access to so many great activities while retaining a quaint, small-town atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our home at 154 Orcas is one of the best-built, largest, most-accommodating vacation rentals in the region. Not a penny was spared on the renovation, and our home offers the unique opportunity for a family of 10 to enjoy this great region while being able to stay on the West side of the 1 Freeway and take a short 200 foot walk to get to the beach. Orcas Street is one of the only streets in Morro Bay or Cayucos that opens directly onto the beach.
