This was a great way to hang out with old friends with young kids. Walking distance to beach and town...we parked the cars once and walked everywhere (no car seats!). We have rented many homes in bolinas and for a larger group this one is a gem! We look forward to the next trip!Recommended for: Families with young children.

Our family stayed here for a week over the Christmas holiday. It was perfect. We have rented homes in the area for the past 6 years and everyone agreed this was the best. The pictures don't do it justice! The living room is spacious with plenty of room for us and friends. The dinning room table easily seats 8 and there are extra folding chairs in the closet. After an icey surf session the hot tub is only about 5 minutes away. We would definitely stay here again. Drawback to Bolingas: The beach is not as nice as Stinson so if we wanted that sunset walk we drove over(15min drive), BUT you can't surf at Stinson Beach.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful weekend at this lovely home in Bolinas. Our extended family of 11 slept comfortably and enjoyed evenings around the wood-burning stove and sharing meals around the large table. The house has a lovely beach decor, is comfortable and relaxed and well-appointed. Jeff was really easy to work with and accommodating of us. We highly recommend it for any group that wants to enjoy a special time in one of the most beautiful places on earth!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house was the perfect spot for our 3 families (6 adults & 6 kids) to gather for Thanksgiving. The prime location was the ideal backdrop for us to eat, laugh, relax and make memories. The generous layout provided space for everyone--we never felt crowded or cramped. Cooking Thanksgiving dinner was a breeze in the well-equipped kitchen--the convection oven turned out what was unanimously voted as "the best turkey ever"! Everything about this house is 5 star--comfy beds, plenty of towels/linens, HOT outdoor shower, gorgeous views, 30 seconds to the beach, great hot tub, a quick stroll to town and easy access to nearby hiking trails. Thank you Jeff & family for creating such a lovely beach retreat! We are already planning our return visit....Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property is charming and spacious! We had 6 adults and 6 kids and had room to spare. The location could not have been better. You are within walking distance to all amenities and beautiful beaches. As well as driving distance to many fantastic sightseeing attractions. The home is wonderfully decorated, we felt at home immediately. We let Jeff the owner know about a minor issue with the hot tub and by the time we returned from exploring, he had a service come in and correct the issue, we were back in the hot tub sipping wine that evening (that’s attention to detail!). We would and have recommended this home to anyone who needs a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life. Coming from Minnesota we fell in love with the laid back attitude of the town and its friendly residents. We already miss it and can’t wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Spent 3 nights here for a friends/family birthday party with adults and kids. This house was perfect! Great setup and layout between common areas and bedrooms, separate back cottage was great, the outside space in the back is perfectly nestled in and fully usable, etc. And being 4 houses from the beach made it super easy to get back and forth at any time! There really wasn't anything lacking - it's a great place and location to spend time in Bolinas. Our group is talking about making this an annual thing. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just came back from a wonderful weekend in Bolinas, the house exceeded our expectations - it is spacious, well appointed and well maintained. We had 12 of us (6 adults, 6 kids) but never felt crowded. We had one day of pouring rain, which was cozy and restful thanks to comfy couches and a roaring fire. Not only is the house lovely but it is pretty much as close to the beach as one can get in Bolinas, it was a real treat to walk barefoot from the front door straight on to the beach. We hope to be back!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home is absolutely wonderful. Its one of those places that manages to be humble and spectacular all at once. You step inside and you're transported back 100 years to when large vacation houses were built well, but not ostentatiously. We stayed for 1 week in August of 2011, 2 families of 4 adults and 7 kids. Everything was so well planned for guests, not only was the stay comfortable and relaxing, but navigating the space was intuitive and inspiring. The weather was great, we all surfed and enjoyed the tide pools and hiked in the hills. The listing and photos gave us confidence to plan a vacation here, the owner's communication was spot-on, and our stay was even better than expected. And its very true - even with 11 people, there were beds to spare. Don't be shy about planning a stay with a large group, its very easy. Kids mostly ate outside, used the outdoor shower, the 3 high-school boys stayed in the cottage. Its a perfect setup for extended families or friends. I would recommend it to anyone who values a perfect beach location and a very relaxing home, even with a larger vacation group. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is ideal in every way- large, super-clean, uncluttered, and just steps from the most beautiful and coolest beach in Marin. The house and cottage easily accommodated two large familes (PLUS my mother-in-law!) and allowed for close communal time as well as time for retreating into our own private spaces when we weren't in the mood for the whole crowd. People can be together loud and laughing downstairs, while others can be enjoying the serenity of a beautiful sunset from the deck upstairs. The cottage can house a whole extra family on their own, or also be used as a kid/teen getaway playspace while the adults inhabit the main house. Our group had kids ages 5, 7, 12, and 16 and they were all able to enjoy everything Bolinas has to offer, without getting into the car once. We kayaked every day in the lagoon, rode bikes up to the Mesa, swam, surfed, played tennis, went to the library, and still had time for the daily walk thru town. We will be coming back to this beautiful home every year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Our family has been involved in the building trades in Marin for over 100 years. We love the beach and enjoy surfing and water sports. We love having family and friends out in Bolinas and never get tired of walking the beach and to town. We know you will love it here.
Why the Owner Chose Bolinas:
We chose 93 Brighton first for its proximity to Brighton Beach and Downtown. Next because of its historic charm. The house has an "Old Soul" quality with all the comforts and conveniences you would expect.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Because the house is so close to the beach, I remain gratefull each time I come out of the water and am able to jump immediately into the hot outside shower or hot tub. The kids can come and go to the beach as they like. I enjoy walking with a freshly brewed cup of coffee the length of the beach first thing in the morning. Walking into town is always enjoyable with a visit to the peoples store, The surf shop, bookstore, library, the bolinas market, smileys or the Coast Cafe for a wonderful Breakfast.
