My family & I had a wonderful time here. My sister-in-law was getting married and we needed a place for some of our out of town guests to stay. I made a "staycation" out of it, and we all absolutely loved staying here. We had smaller children, so having the play area was a blessing. The location is very convenient to everything. The homeowner is extremely nice & accommodating, and was a pleasure to work with. Would definitely book again in the future if we needed a place again :) Thank you!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a very nice & relaxing trip to San Diego. The location of this rental property is great for heading either south to Cornado Island, the zoo, or down to the city or north to visit other beaches or restaurants on Garnet St. The property owner was very helpful & great with keeping in touch about arrival instructions.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My boyfriend and I stayed with Kerri and John on our cycling trip and it was wonderful. We had the guesthouse to ourselves and felt very comfortable. The house was immaculate and just what we needed. We cooked at home most nights and used the grill to make our meals complete. They are located so close to everything we wanted- in bike distance!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Cute 1 bedroom place perfect for a couple. The only drawback was no TV. Even on vacation we like to keep up with the news and relax in the evening. Other than that it's the perfect place to stay. Close to Sea World, downtown, Seaport Village, Old Town and Balboa Park. The owners were very friendly and helpful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful experience and stay. I will try to be very fair and do pros and cons (although the cons weren't much of a con to me). Cons: 1-We were there when it was exceptionally humid and the guest house was quite warm. We did a lot of sweating the first couple of days and it was pretty uncomfortable inside (but we didn't spend a ton of time inside). 2-I'm not small and the toilet area is....so my arm kept knocking the tp off it's holder when I sat. 3-Hideaway bed wouldn't be comfy for an adult, but for young kids it was totally fine, their bodies didn't span the bars. 4-You can hear the pitter patter of little feet above you sometimes. Never loud or annoying and didn't bother us at all (but if you are looking for silence....). Pros: 1-THE YARD. We came with 3 young children (6, 4, and 2). It was so much easier to unload, load, and just be there than it could ever be in a hotel. My kids played on the swingset almost every moment we were there. It made it possible for the 2 year old to take afternoon naps while the older kids played outside (that could never happen in a hotel!). 2-LAUNDRY. I hadn't planned to wash clothes there but underestimated how many outfits my kids would go through. It was so nice to treat and wash what would have stained if I had left it. 3-LOCATION. We were there (as you might guess) for the zoo, seaworld, and the beach. All were close and easy to access. It is close to the freeway and VERY close to seaworld. It was the perfect location! 4-AMENITIES. Although it doesn't have a full kitchen, we made use of the fridge, microwave and BBQ outside. We actually went on an extremely tight budget, and with a little planning, were able to make all of our meals and save a ton of money not eating out. (I know that is not how most would travel, but it nice to have the convenience of a small fridge and ways to cook.) 5-PATIO and DECK. The first night we were able to go on the upper deck and watch seaworld fireworks. We enjoyed sunsets up there as well. We invited guests a couple of times to join us for dinner and BBQ'd out on the patio. It was relaxing and nice to feel like we could use that space freely. My husband and I sat out there and enjoyed the evenings visiting after we put the kids to bed. 6.KERRI. Kerri was so kind and friendly. She totally gave us our space, but made sure we felt welcome and free to feel at home. It was a great place to stay and I would return and recommend it to others.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was an absolutely perfect little guesthouse for our family trip to San Diego for the week. The property description is exactly as written and is situated right off I5 (within 2 1/2 miles from Sea World) and had great freeway access to all the spots we traveled to (Coronado, Silver Strand, Sea World, Balboa Park, Little Italy, Del Mar). Our son thoroughly enjoyed being able to view the nightly fireworks from Sea World. The unit was extremely clean and comfortable and the owners are wonderful......if you need anything, all you need to do is ask. We will definitely look at renting this again for our next trip....thanks Kerri!!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We live in San Diego but recently had to relocate temporarily because our home was tented for termites. We already live in the area so this was a perfect get-away for us. Since we were evacuating that meant I had to move all of our 3 cars and there was plenty of street parking available for us. In addition I wanted to ride my bike over the weekend and the owners invited to bring it along as well and stored safely on the patio. When we arrived the unit was clean and there were fresh flowers waiting. The owners are wonderful hosts- they gave us all the room we wanted but also let us know anything we needed they were here for us. The wireless internet connection worked great and the unit was very comfortable. My favorite was the outside patio. I sat down one night and studied with no distraction. This location also offers a great vantage point to watch the summer Sea World fireworks. When we have guests in town this is where we will be sending them in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Everything was just as posted! Very clean, quiet, just like "a home away from home". Location is awesome, as attractions are close by or a reasonable drive away. My husband & I recently stayed here for my birthday. When we arrived we opened the door to a room decorated with balloons and party favors. It was so sweet & thoughtful! The house itself was very clean & beautifully decorated. The landscaping was lovely - especially the little fairy garden right outside our front door! I was under the impression that it was a separate back house - but once you get used to the low ceilings, the occasional knocking of the water heater and children's footsteps from above, it's a very comfortable & cozy little place. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as a quiet romantic get-away for two, but I think a small family of 3 or 4 would definitely enjoy it. It's a great location. All the places we wanted to visit were within a 15 minute drive - The San Diego Zoo, Hash House A-Go-Go & Hodad's to name a few. We had a wonderful time! Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

ATTENTION RENTERS! If you are want to visit SAN DIEGO and are planning to visit (or stay near) SEA WORLD then look no further! This place is truly PHENOMENAL! We rented this place is early September 2011 because it was near our good friend's apartment in Pacific Beach (only 4 miles away) and it was by far the best decision of our visit to San Diego! Why pay all that money to rent a hotel and basically "live in a box" for the week when for even LESS than the average nightly hotel stay you could rent a two room guest house like this place! So yes, this place was reasonably priced and even more of a steal considering all the amenities it comes with… It was extremely clean and well-maintained and we were surprised to find that there WAS a lot of room. Perfect for two people or a family of four. I was amazed at how many extra linens, blankets, pillows and towels there were in this place. There were enough for 5 people...let alone two. The bathroom seemed like it was new and it was also very clean. Yes, there was a washer & dryer right in the unit which was great and very convenient but on top of that there was everything you could possibly ever need to wash clothes provided for you...including liquid detergent! (I couldn't believe that one! They provided detergent! Unreal!) Let’s face it. Having access to the yard and the deck was pretty awesome! There was a gas grill to cook food on and renters also had access to a wood burning stove outside. So...you can entertain friends at this place...if you wanted to. Old friends or new friends you make on your trip! How cool is that? (I am going to take advantage of this next time!) But I think the best part about staying here was how cool the owners were. They were so cordial...truly great hosts! Always available to answer questions and make recommendations for restaurants and local spots and were always there to take care of us. One example of this was during the last half of the week we stayed there was a heat wave in the SD area and it got really humid and really quick! High humidity is not normal weather for that area. The owners dropped off some extra fans for us to use without us even asking. It was a bunch of little things like that the owners did for us that put this place WAY OVER THE TOP of places I've rented from before. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and relatives. I plan to stay here every time I visit my friends in San Diego. It doesn't get much better than this!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed there during Labor Day week and was happy with my choice. It is close to I-5 and the owner was extremely friendly and accomodating. Anytime we needed something (fans, towels, etc) she was quick to provide. The back yard has a very tranquil and cozy sitting area which is lighted for enjoying a glass of wine or reading. It was great to have a washer/dryer for extended stays and a mini fridge for drinks. I am heading back there in early December and staying here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My husband and I rented the guesthouse for accommodations during a soccer tournament in Del Mar. It was a perfect little getaway when we were not at the field! The grape-vined patio area with private swing and comfy outdoor wicker was perfect for coffee in the morning and afternoon naps, sipping wine in the afternoon. Each night we utilized the upper deck to watch the fireworks from SeaWorld, and gaze at the ocean. Our sons visited us there for a bbq and to chat and relax. What a wonderful respite, close to everything, we can't wait to return! Thanks Kerri for a very hospitable time!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
