Just returned from a trip to "The Perch". The cabin was wonderful and the views were spectacular. The pictures on here don't do it justice. The cabin was fully stocked....more so than any cabin I have ever visited. This is the second of Karen's cabins that I have stayed in and I have enjoyed both.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Our family of 5 stayed at the Perch in August 2012. It was wonderful! The view is amazing - loved the giant rocking chairs on the porch! Our kids enjoyed exploring outside around the cabin. We spent a lot of time just relaxing at the cabin. A few of our favorite sites and activities away from the cabin were hiking to the top of Brasstown Bald, gem mining, scouting deals at the $2 store, and mountain biking on the Jackrabbit Trail (just over the NC border). These mountain biking trails were well marked and crazy fun for the whole family!! We enjoyed it so much the first time, that we took our bikes back two more times! I would heartily recommend The Perch!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

My family and I vacationed here for a week. the cabin had all that you needed. It was great for my year and half old. The cabin was easily "baby- proofed". Our eight year old found a lot of activities. We all enjoyed it!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

If you are looking for an amazing view, this is the cabin for it. It is INCREDIBLE! The cabin is very clean and well stocked with anything you could possibly need. Loved the rocking chairs on the deck. Basically where my mother and I sat for 48 hours! Located almost halfway between Helen and Young Harris. Lots of hiking close by. I'm sure the view in October is even more phenomenal! Can't wait to come back.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

This cabin has it ALL! The view is incredible - you can see for miles! The pictures really do not do it justice. The cabin itself is lovely - everything is updated, very clean and has cute lodge decor. The owner has covered every possible detail (linens, kitchen utensils, etc) to make you feel comfy and at home. 2 separate living room areas, 3 bedrooms plus 2 big porches and a cool fire pit. The cabin is nicely secluded for privacy but is literally just 'down the mountain' to reach Ingles grocery and several restaurants. We were able to bring our little dog with us, too! Also is not too far from Brasstown Bald, hiking points along the App Trail and the nearby lake with several public access points/beach. We will definitely return - it was perfect for just my husband and I... we may also return some day with a group of friends!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My husband, myself and our 2 small dogs had the opportunity to stay in this wonderful cabin for (sadly) only 2 nights. The house was immaculate, the decor was beautiful and the furniture was super comfortable. There are a couple tall chairs on the balcony and you can see both Lake Chatuge and Brasstown Bald. We took in the A-Z auction on Saturday night and had a blast!! Can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+.

my family and I had a fabulous time at the cabin this holiday weekend. This was definitely a holiday to remember that began from the time we opened the door, to such a beautiful place, to the time we regretfully had to leave. The pictures did not do this cabin justice, at all. It was way more beautiful! Needless to say, we were able to take full advantage of an opportunity of a lifetimeRecommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet owners, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

We love this cabin, perched on the side of a mountain looking out over Lake Chatugue and the Hiawassee valley with a panoramic view of the forested hills leading up to Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest peak. Whether sitting on the deck taking in the scenery, or snuggled up in front of the fireplace with a good book, the cabin is a comfortable place to get away from it all. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in, and the bedrooms are private and cozy. We stayed there in the fall during leaf season and the view was spectacular. Fog and clouds frequently filled the valley at dawn, burning off by mid-morning. Day trips to wineries, NC towns like Hayesville, Franklin, and Highland are easy drives. Hiking trails to waterfalls are close by. Craft stores and pottery workshops are tucked in throughout the mountains. The town of Hiawassee has several unique shops carrying everything you might need. The cabin is well-equipped and well-maintained. We've recommended it to several of our friends and relatives, and they've enjoyed staying there.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the review. I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. I try to be detailed oriented to make our guests stay the best they can possibly be. Of course I can not take all the credit, Hiawassee is a beautiful place. Hope to here from you in the future! Karen

This was our first time staying in Hiawassee. We enjoyed our weekend in this cabin. This cabin has everything that you would need. The view was absolutely breath taking. Every morning we would go out on the porch and take pictures of our gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Lake Chatuge. This cabin was spacious but cozy. It makes you feel like you are at home. The location was also great. Our family traveled nearby to Helen, Georgia and went tubing. We had so much fun. There are also great restaurants in Hiawassee. Our favorite was Michaelee's Chocolate Cafe. (Thanks Karen!) They have great meals and amazing desserts. We would definitely come again! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with an amazing view!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.
