My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary and couldn't have stayed anywhere better. Our honeymoon had been a horrific experience in a hotel and wanted to try something different. We loved the fact that the windmill is so homey! We were able to stay in a few nights and cook our own meals and watch movies. The place is a lot bigger than the pictures show! The windmill is also in the perfect location! It's a block over from Main Street which literally has everything! So many different choices to eat or shop. We took out bikes and were able to get out and take a bike ride around town and enjoyed the beauty of Chatham. I highly recommend this place and have already had many people ask about it just from my pictures of my husband and me!

Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Thank you Deanna and your husband for your glowing review. Our goal is to have our visitors feel at home while away from home. It sounds, from your review that we achieved our goal. It was such a pleasure to meet you and your husband on a very special anniversery. Thanks for all your tlc. and appreciation. Hope to have you return to our Wind Mill in Chatham real soon. Best, Linda

My Fiance and I stayed in the windmill recently, and we LOVED it! It's in a great spot, is self contained and very comfortable. The weather wasn't great from most of our stay but even in the rain this place is so quaint and relaxing, and within walking distance to most things in Chatham. Chatham is a beautiful place and very much the quintessential "Cape Cod" we were hoping to experience. Linda is lovely and super helpful - We'd definitely love to come back and stay again! Thank you for being such a great host.

We have enjoyed staying in the Windmill more than once. The accommodations are perfect ~ the location is fantastic ~ and the owners are wonderful people. A stay at the Windmill offers a beautiful view of Oyster Pond, everything you need in a "home-away-from-home," the convience of walking to town for shopping and/or dinner...and don't forget Band Time in Chatham, and, the luxury of walking to the market. The Windmill is the perfect get-away for a long weekend or extended stay in Cape Cod's Elbow Land. We have already booked our favorite hide away for another long weekend.

My parents and I had a wonderful time spending a weekend at the Windmill. It's just enough space for three people to stay comfortably and the location can't be beat. The view of Oyster Pond is gorgeous and we had a lovely time walking around the neighborhood and into town. Linda was incredibly kind and helpful, and was able to take my reservation with little notice. We visited in November, I can only imagine how great it is to stay there in the summer!

We rented the Windmill for a very last minute vacation. I contacted the owners just days before traveling to the cape and they were very friendly and accommodating. The house was clean, beautifully decorated and had plenty of room for our 2 small children (ages 3 1/5 and 11 months) and all the gear that comes along with traveling as a family. There was a safe place to leave our stroller and bicycles and you couldn't ask for a better location. We only used our car a few times in the 5 days and it was to visit friends who lived outside Chatham. I would highly recommend the property and the owners are wonderful. The only downfall was we couldn't stay longer.

It is the most amazing setting and to top it off to stay in an adorable windmill! It doesn't get much better than that! We walked everywhere (town, beach, grocery store, restaurants)! The windmill is charmingly decorated! Can't say enough good thing about the owner, very helpful and accomodating in EVERY way! Can't wait to go back next year! Thank you!!!!

The Windmill is charming, delightfully decorated and offfers every comfort of home. It is Cape Cod. Additionally it is in a prime location ~ overlook the Oyster Pond, walk to the beach, take a one minute walk into beautiful downtown Chatham. You never need to move your car...groceries, shopping, dining and community entertainment are all right there. Have already reserved the Windmill two more times this year...its a little haven on the Pond...and the owners are delightful too!

The "Windmill" is a delightfully cozy rental. We particularly liked the location - we were a short walk to downtown Chatham and almost on Oyster Pond. Linda was the perfect, and most helpful, owner offering us tips as well as a lovely place to stay for a week.

About the owner: My husband and I both were raised in a beach community; he is from South Carolina and I am from New Jersey. Moving to New England brought us again to the coast. When we discovered Cape Cod we feel in love with the quaintness, the character and the natural beauty. When our daughter came along we decided she too should have the experience of being on the water. It is so tranquil. Both my husband and I are in the very hectic retail business, owning 8 stores so tranquility is important, we love our get aways to Chatham where we can slow the pace and smell the "roses". When we tell our dog "lucky we are going to the beach she can't wait, dogs need tranquility too.

              Why the Owner Chose Chatham:
When researching what towns on Cape Cod that we thought we might like, we talked to many people. We had visited the island of Nantucket and wanted a similar feel but not the difficulty of getting there. The recommendations were unanimous that we visit Chatham. We loved it! Our first home in Chatham was actually one of our stores with a second floor apartment. When our daughter was young it was perfect for us. We then discovered we were coming to Chatham and working instead of enjoying so we decided to sell this home and buy something else. The requirement was on the water and close to town, a hard combination to find. We had a great realtor and he found us the perfect spot. Our home, a compound of four cottages, has everything; on the water and close to town. We can walk to everything. We love not having to get in the car. We love our walks on the beach and through town. We love going into shops where they "know your name". We love the band concerts and then grabbing a little dinner at the "Squire". When we cook at home, the fresh seafood makes everything taste much better. And when I need something to complete a recipe, the (new) Chatham Village Market is right down the street. Chatham's charm is so refreshing. Our area is so beautiful with so many beautiful homes, all enjoying the views of Oyster Pond. This is our 9th year and our home on the water is a dream come true for our family. As we go through every rental season we love hearing our tenants comments so we know they love our home as much as we do.

The Unique Benefits at this Mill:
When we have the opportunity to stay in our "wind Mill" it is like being away, far away. It is so relaxing and comfortable it makes slowing the pace real simple. We love sipping our wine at the end of the day while watching the sun set over the water. We love the peacefulness of eating in the garden while viewing the water. This "wind Mill" cottage makes life feel simple.
