Three Friends has four bedrooms, each with its own full bath, and sleeps 8 in luxurious comfort, plus 2 on the queen sofa/sleeper in the ground floor den (with adjacent bath). All new furnishings pamper you in every room, from the separate den (a great place for the kids to watch movies) to the ultra spacious living/dining/kitchen level. There are three separate sitting areas in the home allowing plenty of relaxation on sumptuous furniture that makes you want to linger. But the star of the show is the master suite with its four poster king bed and a master bath that will take your breath away. Believe it or not, the walk through shower has an incredible (and discreet) ocean view!
You'll love the high ceilings, elegant fixtures, dark mahogany floors, fossilized limestone coral tile, and plantation shutters throughout. This home even has an elevator for luggage, groceries, and wobbly knees. The gourmet kitchen is open to the living and dining areas so everyone can gather in one comfortable space. We're just a short stroll to the beach down a private brick paved lane. The pool and pavilion is a fantastic amenity and very well maintained. And the beach is almost indescribable ... enormous sand bars stretch out to sea, allowing you to walk out 1/2 mile from the dunes at low tide.

Our visit to Three Friends Cottage was so relaxing. We had family to visit during the week and they were very comfortable. Everyone had plenty of space for privacy and the three sitting areas were great when we wanted to be together. We found ourselves gravitating to the lower living area. It has a great entertainment system and it is very inviting. The entire home is beautiful. We can recommend the bird watching at the end of the island (low tide), north of Coast Cottages and a day in the tangles of driftwood at Jekyll. They are near the fishing pier and a world away with just a brief drive. We also enjoyed the lighthouse tour on this trip. The tower was surprisingly cool on a day the temperature was in the nineties. My husband's mom wasn't quite sure she wanted to go all the way to the top but the scattered windows revealed a new view at each landing. She made it all the way. She is in her late seventies. It is certainly worth the effort and much of the history of St.Simons is wrapped around this site. It is good idea to visit here before or after a trip to the Old Church cemetery. A book rich in island stories would be a great way to end that day. Oh yes, the sailboats reflecting in the second story mirror are a reminder that the beach just a few steps away. Three Friends is in a wonderful location for early morning and late night walks. It is lovely in every way.

I have stayed at this cottage twice now and the second visit was even better than the first. The new decor is lovely and the cottage is very well maintained. I love the short walk to the pool and beach, and the elevator saves my knees and back. I feel safe and comfort while visiting. The master suite is elegant, private and so relaxing, just the place I want to be while on vacation. There are plenty of terrific restaurants and things to do on the island and the shopping is plentiful. I am happy to return to this location, year after year.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
