Gloucester house description
Start the day with breakfast at Sailor Stans' or walk to the Last Stop for great muffins. Kick back and watch the lobster and fishing boats travel about the harbor. Spend time on the dock watching the herons, egrets, ducks and gulls fly about, swim off the dock at high time or at low tide explore the tidal pools, collect shells and sea glass. Enjoy beautiful gardens and privacy in the back yard. Our home of over 35 years has been enjoyed by many friends and guests. After a day you can cook in , order out or talk a 5 minute stroll down the 'Neck for a leisurely dinner at one of the 3 restaurants followed by dessert at our local ice cream store and then music or a play afterwards. About the owner: I am a retired teacher and now working part time as a Nutrition Coach. My husband is a building contractor, specializing in older homes. He loves unique old homes and enjoys restoring them. You will notice that in our home. We offer our year round home to visitors for a few weeks of our beautiful New England Summer. We started renting our home one year when a neighbor begged us to rent to their family who were visiting. We travel to downeast Maine every summer to a rustic island getaway. My husband loves the solitude and being on an island. I could stay in Rocky Neck all summer because there is so much to do and take advantage of. Many times I just play tourist! The beauty about our place is that you could park your car and walk everywhere. We enjoy sharing our home to families or couples looking for a relaxed and real vacation without all the hype.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love living in Rocky Neck and the real feeling of New England seashore living. Friendly neighbors activities and culture abound. Gloucester is full of history and it is a 'real' town with great restaurants, music, schooners and fishing. There is a commuter train to Boston, Rockport or Newburyport.
