Located in beautiful Port Charlotte, there are many things to do, nice beaches and many golf courses.
Siesta Key, a short distance is rated as one of the best beaches in the country, beautiful blue water with white sugar like sand. Also, near by Myaka State Park has hiking trails and wild life, many different birds and of course alligators. Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda has many shops and restaurants, it is the base for the Kingfisher Fleet, they offer boating trips to the out islands such as Cayo Casta and Cabbage Key where lunch is available. On these trips you will hear about local history and folk Loire. You are a short ride from Venice and the south jetty where dolphins and manatee are seen feeding on a regular basis. One can take a boat from Fort Myers to Key West, everyone should experience sunset at Mallory pier. Key West has many shops bars and restaurants. Nearby Arcadia is known for antique shops,it is an old quaint town, The Opera House has been converted to antique shops. there is something for everyone in this area. Clubs such as Moose, American Legion, Elks, and Eagles. Near the Towne House is The Cultural Center, where one can enjoy many activities such as dancing, dinning, plays, and educational classes.
