Bright Post-Modern House, Swedish design
Walk to beach, Jitney, Breadzilla, Seafood Shop, and wine store..
Beautiful light, airy house featuring high ceilings, wood-burning fireplace, central AC & vac.
Antique pine furniture throughout the house complements the occasional antique urn from France or the carousel horse from a bygone era. The three skylights in the living room combine with the six-foot high windows to provide a bright, spacious aura even on the occasional cloudy day. The open kitchen is easy to work in and will draw your guests around the counter for appetizers and cocktails.
The upstairs Master Bedroom, with Flat-Screen TV, has a queen-size bed and its own ensuite bathroom with enclosed tub and His and Hers Sinks. Downstairs are two additional bright bedroom, also with queen-size accommodation. Each of the bedrooms has 5 windows which, with their European hardware, can be opened in the tradition way or cracked from the top, and a Ceiling Fan, for cooling or fresh air options with the evening breeze. Swedish built-in shelving systems framed in pine and spacious closets are in each of the bedrooms.
The rocking chairs on the front porch are only 5 feet away from the bird bath where the robins and catbirds come to drink and bathe. The back deck is the perfect place to relax in your lounge chairs at the end of the day, with a glass of wine from the local vineyards, to watch the sun set behind the trees that are in the wooded green belt that runs behind our property. Walk barefoot on the lawn, as there are no outside or inside pesticides used.
The spacious enclosed outdoor shower is only a couple of walking stones away, with an oversize head and plenty of water pressure to massage your body after a day of shopping or playing. Boogie boards and beach chairs, umbrellas and towels are here for your family’s use. A Gas Grill and Wireless Internet are also provided.
Centrally located in the Hamptons - seven minute drive to either of East Hampton, Sag Harbor, or Bridgehampton - and only 60 seconds from Montauk Highway. Bike ride to beach and winery tastings. Easily accessible to hiking/mountain-biking trails and tennis courts.

A new full-size gunite pool is being installed in May 2013 and will be available for your use during the summer.

Our stay at the Swedish Home was absolutely wonderful! The home is meticulously clean, beautifully decorated, with artistic touches that imbue one with a sense of warmth and serenity. We cooked on the grill and in the kitchen almost every night; the appliances and utensils were excellent and everything was perfectly convenient. My two children, ages 3 and 7, loved the enormous backyard which reminded them of a large forest, where they picked pine cones and created fairy tales. The location of the house in Wainscott was simply ideal: we were able to get to Sag Harbor, Amagansett, East Hampton and Bridgehampton within ten minutes. We never sat in traffic - we were able to explore the bay beaches and ocean beaches with equal ease, and we especially loved Breadzilla, Once Upon A Bagel, and the Seafood Store located within a ten minute walk of the house. But the best part of our trip was our hosts, Dane and Beth, who took care of us from the moment we decided to stay at their place, making our experience truly enjoyable. They sent us fantastic recommendations for restaurants, children's activities, the most beautiful beaches, and the best stores and local farm stands. Their help was invaluable and it made this vacation one of our best!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The owners were so helpful, welcoming and responsive. The secluded property is beautiful and tranquil but not too far from restaurants and other services. Great bakeries, seafood shop, bagel shop and more a short bike ride away. The house is immaculate and well-equipped.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband, myself and our toddler enjoyed this home for one month in July. It is located in delightful Wainscott and nearby (we walked) to food shops (bagel store, fish shop, wine store, bakery, etc). The beach is a few short miles away (easy bike ride or 3 minutes by car) and its the best beach in the Hamptons- quiet, rarely packed, and a walk away from Georgica Pond which is delightful for kids. The house is very bright and open, the hosts are meticulous- the house is sparkling clean and organized. They were happy to offer their beach bike and beach gear, and they could not have been more responsive and helpful. After 10 + years of renting out in the Hamptons, this couple are hands down the nicest. The yard is lovely and private and our kid ran himself down playing every day (a big plus). The location is on a quiet dead end road and peaceful as can be. There is a great grill and comforable deck furniture for outdoor BBQs which we took advantage of daily. I would recommend this place to friends and family in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
