About the owner: The Murray Family has had a connection with the Land Trust Cottages on Purgatory Road dating back to the 1920's when Bill Murray, as a young boy, vacationed there with his parents. In 1952, he purchased 105 Purgatory Rd. and enjoyed it with his family until the mid 1970's. At that time, the beachfront lot of 103 Purgatory Rd. became available. He purchased it and subsequently built the house presently situated there in 1974. He cherished his time there with his wife, Arleen up until his passing in 2006 at the age of 90. Arleen has continued to enjoy this unique and special property with her family.
Why the Owner Chose Middletown: This property offers a unique setting in a private cul-de-sac with ownership to the high-water mark of Easton's Beach. It provides a completely unobstructed view to the Atlantic Ocean and Newport's historic Cliff Walk mansions. The house is a comfortable one floor ranch style with open living, dining and kitchen areas.
