The duplex was lovely and nicely maintained. Our family of 7 was very comfortable with plenty of space for everyone. The separate air conditioners in each of the 3 bedrooms made it very easy for everyone to be comfortable and control their own space! Kal was a great host. He drove me to return my rent car and then retrieved items for us that we left in the Brownstone. Unfortunately, it rained the entire time we were there, so we didn't get to take advantage of the lovely patio/garden area. It took a bit for us to get used to the hike to the metro, it was .6-.7 miles to get there. But going down Stuyvesant was a lovely walk and had several small groceries where we could stop and pick up milk, bread, etc. Overall, it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends or to rent from this location again.

Just stayed in this beautiful brownstone for the weekend. Easy access to the subway and an adorable neighborhood with very friendly neighbors. The home is spacious and comfortable, with a lovely backyard, and the owners are incredibly kind and accommodating! I would recommend their property to anyone as a fantastic place to stay in a second!

I enjoyed my stay at the brownstone in Brooklyn with my family (daughter and son) and a friend. The place is clean, convenient, comfortable and reasonably priced for such a large space. The owners were also very accommodating to our need to drop off our many suitcases prior to the actual time agreed upon for check in. This allowed us to site see immediately without dragging multiple bags around the city. This was very helpful, as we were moving my son from Seattle for college and had more luggage than ever. The owners were friendly and easy accessible for questions prior to and during our stay. They checked on us throughout our stay to assure we were well cared for while visiting. There was also a book at the brownstone listing the area's restaurants, stores, laundry, etc with a map. The space was very user friendly and comfortable. It was well stocked with basic equipment ensuring our needs were met for cooking and comfort. It was a very hot and humid time of year and each room had an air conditioner and overhead fan. My friend and son are picky sleepers and all the beds were extremely comfortable. The subway was about 8 blocks away and I enjoyed the walk to and from the subway. I liked the diversity of this area and all the people I met on the streets around this area were friendly. There was a great new coffee shop on Lewis by the park leading to the subway that had Ethiopian coffee (Seattle prides itself in its love of a good cup of coffee and this coffee was an 11 on a scale of 1-10) and on that same block of Lewis was a Zagat rated breakfast place called Peaches. At Peaches I had goat cheese, mushroom and egg omelets with a side of potatoes that were fried in spare rib drippings and garnished with pickled onions and arugala. My daughter had french toast that was breaded in granola and had fresh berries. My friend had eggs benedict. They had multiple types of grits. Some real southern specialties, the choices are to many to name. Thank goodness this place is not to close to my home, because as a foody, I would gain too much weight eating such rich delicious food. Thank you to the owners for a lovely stay and hope to see you again soon, Satisfied Seattle family

Spent a six night stay in May – a party consisting of two middle aged couples from the UK. The description of the property is accurate and (not that I’m looking to) I’m hard set to find anything negative to say about the listing, the accommodation, the area, or the service we received from the owners. We arrived by cab at around 7 PM from JFK to find Kal (one of the owners) waiting for us as arranged. Once the formalities were complete Kal offered to run us around the local stores in his own car to stock up on staples (bread, milk etc) for the evening and the following morning – he is a real gentleman. You'll find pretty much everything you need within an easy walk - there are corner stores all over and a small super market about 10 minutes walk away. The accommodation is ten or twelve minutes walk (all on the flat) to the nearest subway. If you’re lucky with the trains you can be in Manhattan in around half an hour. We walked into Manhattan from Madison Street on the first day; it’s a bit of a trek but a great way to get a feel for the area, and a memorable means to enter New York - across the Brooklyn Bridge on foot. Days spent “doing” New York are a lot easier with Madison Street as “home” – a comfortable place to shower, cook, and generally relax in the evening. The best recommendation I can give is that we would happily go back there if (when I hope) we visit New York again.

My family came to visit me.  They stayed here.  The apt is so lovely and clean just as the photos show.  There were 6 of them.  They had more than enough room to relax, eat, whatever they needed.  They loved that there was a back yard.  They had a car and parking was never a problem.  It's easy to get to the city via train although we drove. We were very happy with the apt however we were more happy with the owners.  They are so nice, so helpful, all of the above.  They were very accommodating to us and made our stay very comfortable. I definitely highly recommend.

I stayed in this lovely, charming Brooklyn brownstone and CANNOT SAY ENOUGH WONDERFUL THINGS about it. It's on a charming classic street, the interior is decorated so nicely and is quite large, the kitchen and bathrooms are great. The owners are beyond generous and kind. They went out of their way to make me feel at home - my flight got in super late and they met me at the flat at 1am with warm smiles. They even asked me what I'd like for breakfast and stocked in the fridge. I've used VRBO for years and this is by far the best experience I've had with a rental property. It's a safe neighborhood, although it's a bit of a cab ride to where the action is but it's GREAT FIND! Please stay here!!!

Overall we had a wonderful stay at this property and the owners went out of their way to be helpful, providing provisions on arrival and sorting out any queries, minor problems very quickly. Although the apartment is probably only 15 mins from Manhattan, it's a good 10 minutes walk to the subway station and you did feel a long way out. There is a fantastic French/Italian restaurant nearby (Saranghi on Lewis/Stuyvesant) just one sign that the area is 'up and coming'. The flat has been newly refurbished and all the equipment is new, which is great. The second bedroom is internal, with no windows and got very hot (although there is aircon)- OK for one, but tight for two. The TV only seemed to have a small number of channels, but this didn't matter too much as we enjoyed games and chat and the DVDs provided - thanks.

With the lovely patio area and the extra bathroom our stay in this apt was very satisfactory, it has been recently renovated and all the furnishings are virtually new, the owner was very very helpful even buying groceries for our first nights stay. The neighbourhood has some very attractive tree lined streets and many houses are being renovated, every one we met was very helpful even inviting us into a church service all in all a great stay at the right price, the property description is accurate and was very clean

My family and I stayed here for 9 days and the stay was enjoyable. We didn't want to leave. The apartment was very cosy and clean. The area was peaceful and convenient - train and bus access near. We couldn't ask for more. We were visiting due to a funeral but if/when we return next year for a vacation, this will be our choice to stay. No other place. Thank you very much. I would recommend this vacation home to anyone who wants to move away from the hotel setup.

The apartment and the host were lovely. She gave us a thorough tour of the house. The apartment is well appointed with new appliances and the decor is just enough to make you feel at home. The photos on the site accurately reflect the condition of the apartment. A bonus was the big yard. We were more than satisfied with this apartment (including the clean and adequate amount of linens), internet access, spacious yard, the proximity to the train, the quiet block and the accomodating nature of the host.

I spent 4 days at this dwelling with 6 close buddies for a gathering in New York. We had a blast. Great location, but more importantly a very nice place to stay. Everything is new and very well appointed. The backyard is more than adequate for having a little get togeather. Everyone slept and dined very comfortably. Parking was easy to find. Wireless internet was enjoyed by all. The owner was extremely accommodating and flexible, which made the whole experience that much better. I highly recommend this property to anyone who is visiting New York.

It was absolutely a pleasure to stay at the apartment. We felt as if we were in our 'home away from home' in this modern, stylish yet cozy apartment. All our needs were not only met but surpassed. We had the privacy of our own place with the comforts and efficiencies of staying in a hotel. The spacious back yard made us feel as if we were in the country but with the convenience of a short walk and quick ride into downtown Manhattan. We look forward to coming back and highly recommend this rental opportunity.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed early morning coffee on the patio. Every day, we rode the subway into Manhattan and took in all the tourist sites. It was very comforting to be able to come back to our 'home away from home' and relax in a apartment. Some days we cooked, other days we ordered in pizza or chinese food. Having access to a computer made it easy for us to plan the next day's activities. Thanks, Roy, - we will certainly spread the word around. Good luck!
