  Lovely apartment, everything you need is there. Breeze at nights is incredible we didn't use the A/C at all. Definitely going back when traveling to Utila.

  The gardens at Jerico is the perfect place you might be looking for, its clean, romantic, private, great location for an excelent price, great for a copule getaway, i totally recommend it you wont regret it! The service is great!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

  Jerico's Garden was an excellent accommodation, their apartments are fully and well-equipped, perfect for buying on the supermarket and home-cooking some meals. Up to 4 people fit right in each apartment. It's location is just a few minutes (about 10 to 15min) from Main Street. Tony & Jo (owners) were outstanding hosts and made our stay totally pleasurable!! We'll definitely be back sooner than we expected!

  Owner response: One of our favorite things about The Gardens is the fully stocked kitchens that let our guests save money by cooking at home! While there is a starter kit with coffee, creamer, teas, etc., many of our guests do visit the supermarkets when they feel like having that home cooked meal that adds even more comfort to their holiday!   The listing for the Gardens is accurate and pictures of the location is just as it is! Beautiful and turn-key! My family and I stayed for a month at the Gardens and are regretting not staying longer. We were very pleased to be picked up from the ferry by Jo and Tony, the owners, they gave us a tour of the island and also stocked our cupboards and fridge with all our food/beverage items! We have two young girls, 3 and 5, and they adjusted well due to the homey feel of the apt. If you are looking for ease of booking (Jo or Tony will email you within several hours of you making contact!), help with setting up excursions, like fishing, boating, island hopping, or scuba diving, and a VERY CLEAN, COMFORTABLE apt with great wi-fi, cable tv, hot water and air conditioning ( which we only used twice at the end of the trip, because the breezes keep you cool).....then look no further .... The Gardens have everything you need! We made long lasting friends while in Utila, Jo and Tony are truly excellent and thoughtful hosts and are missed by our little girls, and our hearts ache to go back! WE will rent at The Gardens next year for two months instead of one!

The Gardens is family friendly and the privacy fence that surrounds the property is ideal for little ones to be able to play outside, read and draw on the picnic table, and just generally scamper about without parents having to worry about traffic or them wandering off. Our gardener, Juan, is very protective of the children we have at The Gardens, being a father of little ones himself, and keeps a keen eye out for them. (and our access to bona fide babysitters is great when you want a night out alone!). We thank you for you kind words, and look forward to you joining the ranks of our yearly visitors!

  My family and I stayed at The Gardens for 4 weeks between December 2012 & January 2013. It was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed Utila and The Gardens became our little home away from home! My wife and I were traveling with our two children and several other families. Tony and Jo were able to accomodate our group's needs quite well. Tony & Jo make the experience. They are extremely hospitable. Both before & during our trip, they went the extra mile to see to it that we were well taken care of. The grounds are well kept, as are the apartments. Our children had a blast exploring the grounds. I would recommend The Gardens to friends and family. My family and I hope to return soon.

  I stayed at the Gardens for a couple of months during the low season in the fall of 2012. It's really not possible for me to describe how wonderful that was! The apartments are without a doubt the nicest places I have ever lived on my own. The appliances are all really new and I passed some of my most enjoyable hours on the island cooking or baking in my lovely kitchen. Not only are the apartments amazing but Jo and Tony are some of the most warm and gracious people you will ever meet. They checked with me multiple times to see if everything was ok or if I was lacking for anything, and any time I "needed" something they saw to my "requests" with astounding alacrity. I mentioned I was going to try to find a way to hang my hammock up and within 24 hours Juan, the gardener, had installed hooks and even brought a hammock over for me to use. When I mentioned that I was going to look for a cheese grater there was one outside of my door the next day. When I told Tony that the water wasn't actually that hot in my apartment he nearly had a coronary and the next day my water was scalding hot (it turned out that there had been a problem with the water heater so Blanca, the sweet local lady who comes to clean once a week, had turned it off and forgotten to tell Tony and Jo about it so they didn't realize it was broken!). Although the apartments have air conditioning I never had to use it because they stay cool enough due to the nice breeze that blows through. The balcony overlooks the beautiful yard full of banana trees and it's the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or entertain friends at night. Blanca was always willing to work around my schedule and come back later to clean if it was an inconvenient time. Sometimes Juan brought bananas directly to my door, or arranged for me to purchase a plate of food that his church was selling to raise money (which he brought to my door as well!). Tony suggested that I borrow a bike from them, which I used to zip around the island for two months. When I told Jo I wanted to get it serviced before returning it she told me not to be silly and to bake her some muffins or something instead (I occasionally brought them baked goods as a show of appreciation). During my time on the island I've hung out socially with Jo and Tony numerous times- some of my most enjoyable hours spent on Utila. They are deep thinkers and amazing conversationalists and in general just really GOOD people. Love them

  This place is absolutely AMAZING! I spent several months living here in a one bedroom apartment and this is now the first (and perhaps only) place I would consider living when I return to the island. The floor plan is open and sunny, the property is safe, secure, and beautiful, and the location is absolutely serene. A cool breeze would sweep over the island and through my house each day and I would have BBQ's in the courtyard and host dinners for my friends each month. Tony and Jo (the owners) are some of the coolest people I met on the island and are always available to help in any way. This place was only a 5 minute walk from my dive shop and words can not express how great it was to live here! I can only hope that they have something available next time I come to Utila......

  My wife and I had an unexpected 3 day stay at the Gardens during our honeymoon after a hurricane cancelled our sailing trip from Utila. It was a wonderful stay, not only as a refuge for riding out the storm with comfortable, spacious, modern accomodations but more importantly because of the kindness of Tony and Jo and an incredible attention to detail to help make us as comfortable as possible. It was a great value. The location was perfect: a bit up the hillside from the main road in Utila, so it was quiet and peaceful but still a very easy walk to all the restaurants/bars/etc. We can't wait to return!

  Jerico Gardens is exactly as described, it is clean, comfortable and private. You will find all the amenities you would expect in someone's home and everything is very well maintained. I did not want to stay in a dirty $5 a night hostel nor a $300 a night resort far away from Main St. and Jerico Gardens was the perfect fit. Of course, as everyone will say, the best part about staying there is access to Tony & Jo. You could not find a nicer and more accommodating pair of people. Beyond picking us up from the dock, they took us on a tour around Main St. while pointing out all the places to go and telling us wonderful stories about the island and the people. They arranged all our requests to spectacular success, including 3 days of diving and a beautiful and delicious surprise dinner with a private chef. Jo also gives amazing massages for a steal at their house a few minutes away - but book her early or you might not get a chance to experience it! In the end, Tony also helped us out in a pickle when our taxi driver didn't show up in time to take us to the airport. So as a sometimes uppity New Yorker, I would highly recommend staying in the Jerico Gardens apartment for being clean and comfortable and Tony & Jo for being awesome.

  Spent 4 lovely days at the Garden at Jerico. Tony and Jo welcomed us at the airport and took us to the apartment. The apartment is just as described. The bed is comfortable. There is an a/c unit in the bedroom, but the ceiling fans are perfect for sleeping at night. The location is up hill from town, but just close enough. The best part about our stay was our hosts, Tony and Jo. They showed us around, connected us with a great dive operator and introduced us to everyone. We came as tourists and felt as if we left family behind. Tony and Jo were there to answer any question or help out in anyway they could. It was an awesome adventure!!

  The apartment is very functional with everything needed for a family of 2 adults and two children The service provided by the owners was very good, they are pro-children, and are very good people. We were greeted at the dock. The apartment is located 800 meters from the main street, no traffic noises and / or music at night. Definitely return another time.

  Our seven week stay was totally enjoyable. The unit was clean, well appointed and had great breezes to enjoy the decks. When we needed anything, like an extra table or pitcher our request was immediately handled. The gardner/handyman Juan and the manager/maid Blanca were very nice to work with and helped to make our stay enjoyable. Jo and Tony go the extra mile to make your visit perfect. We can't say enough for their warm and caring hospitality. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend their properties to anyone having the opportunity to visit Utila.

  The listing description was accurate, including the photos. The property was clean and maintained well. The owners were extremely helpful and resolved concerns as soon as possible after they were notified. I would recommend this property. Tony and Jo met us at the dock and then took us grocery shopping, pointing out the other sights in town. They suggested things to do on the island and hooked us up with a driver to help get us back to the airport (faster) on the mainland so we could stay an extra day. Jo is a massage therapist and I had THE best massage ever at an unbelievable price!! They were friendly and completely professional in responding to our questions and needs. I'm a birdwatcher and being on the 3rd floor meant I was up in the trees which made seeing birds that much more interesting! We were allowed to use their bicycles which made our time on the island more pleasant and fun. Tony and Jo are well known on the island and we felt like residents as we saw them in town a few times and they stopped to chat with us and touch base about how things were going. A very pleasant couple, making the Gardens a home away from home!

  The Gardens at Jerico is absolutely wonderful! Tony and Jo, the owners, are some of the nicest people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting and so getting to stay at a place they run just made everything that much better. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is ok and if you need anything they take care of it immediately. My husband and I were in Utila for 2 and ½ months and really enjoyed The Gardens at Jerico and the western standards, high thread count sheets, fluffy pillows, wi-fi, and so much more! With the trade winds we did not have any problems with mosquitos or sand flies like so many other people we heard from staying at other places and because it is up the hill from town it was nice and quiet. If you are looking for a great and comfortable place to stay with hosts that just want to help you love the island the way they do then this is by far the best there is! Tony and Jo thanks so much for everything! We will see you again!
