Perched on the rocks and commanding spectacular views of the sea, Syb's Place is a new four-bedroom, three-bath house that combines the charm of a New England saltbox design with the comfort and ambience possible with today's technology and conveniences.
The first floor lay-out is perfect for entertaining. The living/dining great room opens onto a wrap-around deck overlooking the ocean. Large picture windows and large sliding glass doors provide ocean views from every angle. The dining table seats 16, and there is a view of the sea from each chair. A comfortable seating and conversation area with ocean views has a 10-foot wide stone fireplace with a chair-level hearth for sitting by the fire on spring and fall evenings. The seating area includes a cable TV and VCR. Ceiling fans bring sea breezes inside, and two miles of hidden wiring provide dimmer control on every lighting fixture inside and out. Want to have a romantic evening? At night, you can light the house, deck, and garden to suit your mood.
The kitchen in Syb's Place was custom designed with entertaining in mind. A double-wide commercial sink has a high-power spray hose, there is a new gas stove, microwave oven, large refrigerator, double-wide sideboards for preparing festive meals, a breakfast bar that seats four, and wooden cabinets are filled with a large selection of dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans. The kitchen includes a five-gallon spring-water dispenser and a laundry closet with washer and dryer. The first floor also has a large full bath.
Outside, the deck provides breathtaking water views and stairs leading down to the large dock. Child gates keep small family members off the rocks that lead to the water, Adirondack chairs offer comfortable spots for reading and conversation on the deck, and picnic tables and a seaside railing bar quickly fill with family and guests when you light up the gas grill. A beautiful handcrafted spiral stairway leads to the second-floor deck. The wrought-iron stair was created by a renowned local artist whose handiwork is apparent in the intricate nautical designs that climb up the railing. Each of the three bedrooms on the second floor has a sliding glass door leading out to a long deck overlooking the sea. The bedrooms have new queen-size beds and an attractive collection of antique Maine furniture from houses by the sea. The second floor includes a new large full bathroom.
The dramatic third floor of Syb's Place is a master suite with cathedral ceiling and private balcony overlooking the sea, king-size bed, seating and dining areas, small refrigerator, ceiling fans, and wood-burning stone fireplace. The master bath has a step-up sunken tub and glass shower stall, both with a ocean view.
Syb's Place sleeps eight and includes all linen and kitchen utensils.
