The twinkling city lights below create a peaceful backdrop to an already amazing property.

An adorable fully contained cabin on the same property sleeps an additional 4 or 5 people and can be added to your 'Rim of the World' rental. We fished, hiked, rode aur bikes and had the most relaxing family-reconnect. What a wonderful place for spending time together as a family. The amenities and views were spectacular. We hope to visit again in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks. We are very lucky having the State Park just a short walk from our cabins. I'm so pleased you were able to enjoy your time with us.

I can recommend this rental without hesitation. Very clean and very well appointed. Extensive dvd and blue ray collection plus netflix. Well stocked kitchen - everything you could want or need. Spacious and nicely decorated. Amazing daytime views, pretty sunsets and wonderful stargazing at night. State Park is very close so is the observatory. Lots of board games and puzzles. Every creature comfort taken care of. Drive up the mtn is pretty but the road is curvey so it's a slow drive. Well worth it though. Can't wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.

Owner response: Such kind words. Thanks Wendy. When you come back in Spring I'll be sure to email you a map with an alternate route up the mountain. It's just as pretty but a little less curvey.

We rented this rim of the world chalet along with the forever views cabin and we couldn't have been happier. Both the cabin and the chalet were immaculately clean and loaded with character and charm. I don't normally leave reviews but I simply had to after staying up on palomar mt. Tracy (the owner) was very down to earth and a pleasure to rent from. The property was devine with woods, a meadow and nice seating areas. The night time view from each house was just as brilliant as the day time views and so much nicer than the photos capture. I can't rave about this place enough. The price is incredible for what you get for your money. We cant wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: See you in the New Year Mary. It was our pleasure having you stay with us.

"Mike and Tracey - Thank you so much, it was absolutely amazing. We lucked out with fantastic weather. We explored your incredible property, played in the treehouse, relaxed and decompressed. The bed was so comfortable! Thanks again - this was just the type of getaway that we were looking for and desperately needed. You have an amazing place up there and you are extremely generous for sharing it the way you do. THANK YOU!"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

"It's snowing! The kids are so excited. I think it's the first snowfall of the Season. The kids are outside throwing snow balls and it's beautiful. Best weekend ever! We have had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying our friends up here. Thanks so much to the Chesney family for sharing Palomar Mountain with us."Did you find this review helpful? "As we watched the sun set over the ocean we couldn't believe that San Diego has a mountain as glorious as Palomar. The house was immaculately clean and large enough for all of us. It was such a treat to take a family vacation where everyone got to sleep in a comfortable bed and nobody had to sleep on an air mattress on the floor or a pull-out couch. Bless you and yours."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Beautiful people renting a beautiful property. Very clean and tidy with a really nice kitchen that had everything we needed. Adults had the best time and so did all the children. We stayed in May for 3 nights, had such a nice time we called to see if we could extend our stay for another 2 nights. The owners extended our stay AND GAVE US FREE NIGHT AS WELL. If you haven't stayed at one of the Chesneys vacation rentals yet you're missing out on the most beautiful place in San Deigo. A++Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: It really is beautiful, isn't it? We love return guests like you and your family. Thanks for the nice review Jane.

This has to be the most beautiful place on Palomar Mountain, hands down. We expected a lot from the photos, but found ourselves stunned by the beauty. Robert was more relaxed than I've seen him in years. The kids had the time of their lives running and playing like kids should. And the fishing was great - 2 free dinners! Thanks for the free parking pass. We saw deer, hawks and turkeys with 3 babies. We had an incredible week. I can't thank you both enough for how accommodating you were. We will bring my parents next time. You should be charging double what you are, but we love that you don't.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: We work hard to keep RIM OF THE WORLD priced as low as possible, thanks for appreciating that. We have a family of our own and we understand these economic times. Thanks Alana.
