I we rented this place for 2 weeks, could stay there less than one day, we both got sick of the smell inside the house and had to leave. Furniture and caperts very stained. We informed the owner right of away, she never returned our e-mails. No refund of any kind not even cleaning fee was returned.Owner response: We have never had any other complaints about smells or stains in the house before or after this couple's reservation dates. We are not sure if they even came to the house or if they just needed to cancel the vacation.

My husband and I met my sister and brother-in-law here for a "sister get together", since we live in Texas and New Hampshire. It was great! The house was as described, or even better. We each had our own area, as well as a common area to eat and visit. The kitchen was very well stocked with pans, utensils, etc. The view from both decks was outstanding. Elaine was very easy to work with and I would recommend this house to my friends. We especially liked Helen, Ga. and the Charlamagne's Kingdom, as well as the countryside, waterfalls, etc. It was a great stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The house had all the comforts of home, nice decor. We enjoyed having coffee on the deck, every morning while watching birds and the beautiful mountain view. House was very clean and had adequate supplies. It was very quite and peaceful, very relaxing. Near to attractions and entertainment in Hiawasse, Ga. We drove to Vogel State Park and also Brasstown Bald (highest point in Ga.) The owner, Elaine, was helpful in answering questions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed our week stay at your home as we spent most of our time lounging on the deck and enjoying the view. The kids especially enjoyed fishing from the dock. Our favorite place to eat was Rib Country in Hayesville and we did lots of antiquing in Hiawassee. We are making plans for a return trip later in the summer. Thanks for a great time!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

It was a perfect place to getaway for the weekend! The house was roomy and comfortable for everyone and we enjoyed shopping in Hiawassee. The next time, we are bringing our boat so we can enjoy Lake Chatuge, too.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Why the Owner Chose Hayesville:
After many vacations in Hayesville / Lake Chatuge, we decided we would invest in the area by purchasing a mountain view home. We love the quiet, peaceful atmosphere and fresh air in this quaint mountain town. It is within a short driving distance from the Atlanta area, only 2 1/2 hours, so weekend trips are easy to plan.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our favorite things to do in the area are fishing from the community dock, visiting horse stables, golf at The Ridges, eating at some of the home-style restaurants, enjoying life at a slower pace, and seeing the fabulous mountain views from our covered deck. We always make a special effort to enjoy Sunday breakfast at Mary's American Grill or Cottage Salad Station, only about 6 miles away.
