  This was a return visit for us to the Lake Haus. Living in Northeast MA, this location is prime as we're under 1.5 hours door to door. The Lake Haus is simply the best place. Dealing directly with Charles (the owner) rather than a rental agency is so much easier. The house literally has everything you would ever want, even for large groups. We stayed with a family of four, two sets of grandparents, and then had an extra room still for other families and friends who came and went over the course of the 10 days. Besides being setup to sleep an army, the rest of the house is fully equipped as well. Whether you're looking for something to watch on the big screen TV, the Bose Surround Sound DVD player or even the iPod/iPhone dock, it's all there for you. And, whether you are listening to the TV, your iPod, or even Satellite Radio, you have a system that you can individually control anywhere.....the kitchen, the deck, the waterfront, and even the bathroom! And outside, the setup is just as good! The deck is HUGE with a monster Webber grill that you could cook for 20 on! And the view from the dock is absolutely amazing since its elevated and has about a 180 degree view. Down at the water, there are fun tubes and rafts to lounge on, and theres even a paddle boar and a canoe for use. The docks are great for a boat, but they're even better for lounging on, and they make just about the best "runway" for the kids to run off of and jump into the lake....and it's only 3 to 5 feet deep around the docks, so perfect for playing. All in, this is a ton of house and amenities for the price with a great location and setting....you feel like you are hours away but you're close to the rest of the world. You won't be disappointed by a stay at the Lake Haus.

  where to begin...first off Charles, the owner, was so easy to work with throughout the entire process! We had two families with three children each and there was plenty of room for all of us. The house is beautiful - very well maintained and comfortable with all the amenities! the fireplace had to be my favorite part we had it going the entire weekend. The kids loved the bunkbed room and their favorite was skating on the pond steps from the back door - they spent hours out there! I look forward to another stay at this wonderful location next time in the summer to take advantage of the sunsets, lake and all it has to offer! I would highly recommend this to anyone girls weekend away, family getaways, there is something for everyone!

  We traveled from California to stay at the Lake Haus and can summarize our stay with one word -amazing! The house is beautiful with updated everything. Very comfortable living areas (lake views will take your breath away) with a beautiful kitchen stocked with everything you would need to cook and eat at home. Lazy days were spent reading/grilling on the deck, swimming in the lake, having fires in the fire pit, relaxing on the beach, and fishing from the dock. Charles the owner could not have been nicer and was very helpful. We have rented many houses in the past and none compare to the Lake Haus. It is a true gem. Thank you for making this the best vacation stay we have ever experienced.

  For a bigger than average group it's tough for us to find a place that is ideal. Well, after doing this trip with my group for about 8 years renting different houses, I think we have found "The Place" !!! "The Hause" was nicer than the on-line pictures show....and what a great view!! We ice fished all day on Friday and all day on Saturday....and caught well over 100 fish. House was comfortable and the Stereo/speaker system was top notch. This place is totally wired for sound. The kitchen had all the amenities and everyone had plenty of space to relax. Charles was accomodating and answered all our questions to make our stay worry free. The trip was such a success that a couple guys from our group have already booked another weekend in a couple weeks for more ice fishing!! We definitely didn't rough it here...can't wait for our next stay. Highly recomended by our group.....

  We couldn't have found a better place for our family to spend a week together than at the Lake Haus in Wakefield, N.H. The house provided plenty of room for our family of 8 adults and 3 children. The open floor plan of the kitchen, dining area, and living room allowed us to spend time together without being crowded. The huge deck, and large gas grill was ideal for cooking and out door meals. All the bed rooms gave us the privacy needed at day's end. The house itself was very clean and featured many desired amenities such as central A/C, large plazma TV with satelite service, a Boise sound system, and internet accessibility. Outside the small sandy beach was ideal for children and adults to use for swimming. The canoe is available for use by renters as are the large floats. We all made use of both. We also rented a pontoon boat, and enjoyed it while exploring the lake. The owner, Mr. Hausman, is easy to reach, and pleasant to talk to. Summer places like this, that offer quiet privacy and comfort for a family our size, are hard to find, so we are happy that we chose this place, and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

  We stayed for a full two weeks from July 8 to July 22, 2010. While the house is amazing, I'll get to that in a bit. Hands down, the most amazing thing about this location is just that, the location. It sits on a little out cropping which creates more than 180 degrees of lake views. Whether sitting at the dining table, the couch in the family room, on the main deck, or down below on the bluestone patio at the water, the views are amazing. The lake is clean and quiet. Midweek is peaceful and boats are sparce. On the weekends, there are a several boats, but it's not bad at all. We've rented for years on Winnipesaukee and it's just become too crowded...we've now been spoiled by Pine River Pond; it's perfect. We stayed with 6 adults and 2 children, and there were beds to spare. The house is entirely updated and the finishings are perfect; wide board knotty pine throughout with all the modern amenities. Whether it's the 50" HD flat panel, or the piped in music system (iPod, Sirius XM, TV, etc.) through the property, or simply the WiFi access...this house is connected. The kitchen is very well equipped and the views while cooking are amazing. And don't forget the huge Weber Summit NG grill...you could cook for 25 on that thing! Beds are great and all feel brand new. As I said, we had 6 adults and two kids, and there were empty beds. Linens were included and there's a nice new front loading washer/dryer so you can literally bring clothing for a handful of days and make it two weeks....we did! The waterfront is great. There's been some sand erosion at the shoreline, but it's a beautiful, gradual, sandy entrance. The water at the end of the dock is about 3.5 to 4 feet deep (at least when we were there.) Good for jumping, but not diving. All the floats and water toys are included and they were a blast, including the fairly new canoe! All in all, this place is a winner. Charles is very easy to deal with; I'll never rent from an agency again! We will DEFINITELY be returning to the Lake Haus on Pine River Pond.

• Winter Getaway

  Simply put " the perfect Winter getaway"! Yes, the Midlle of Winter was a vacation our family will not forget. The kids loved the lake and were thrilled to go ice fishing and catch some perch and even a 3 LB large-mouth bass. Really, I wish i could attach the picture. There is Tubing and Skiing nearby, so we wore the kids out all day in the fresh air and the adults relaxed all evening with a wonderful fire and some wine. The house was unbelievably spectacular, well maintained and tastefully decorated. The whole family felt right at home. Everything that was needed was at our finger tips, Heating controls, lighting, WiFi and a awesome tv/sound system. Better yet was just waking up early with a nice cup of coffee, sitting at the table and taking in the view of the lake. We didn't want to leave. I would encourage families and winter loving people to spend some time here. I have to believe it's just as spectacular in the summer. Thanks.

  We had a fantastic vacation this year at the Lake Haus! It was everything described on the vrbo site and more. The house is fully loaded so you will not miss any of the comforts of home - central air, cable tv, full surround sound sirius/bose in all sections of the house and out by the water, fully loaded kitchen and a grill that will satisfy anyone who loves grilling and chilling! Nothing was missing - rafts, canoe, floats, etc. etc. The beach and water at the house is crystal clear, no weeds, no muck! A fantastic patio area right on the water for relaxing or making smores using the fire pit! We rented a pontoon boat for the week which also added to the vacation and made it that much more enjoyable being able to cruise around the lake for sunset cruises or to enjoy the scenery and just relax. Thanks again for an awesome vacation!

  I cannot say enough about this rental. It was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The sandy beach and firepit areas were a plus. The perfect place to just sit and relax. We had people of all ages there and everyone had a blast. The owner is amazing. He was always just a phone call away any time we had a question or concern and he always had a answer for us. I would certainly recommend this rental to anyone interested. We will definitely look into renting this home again.

  I can't speak highly enough of this rental...it's beautiful, clean and spacious. The small sandy beach and dock was perfect for children, as well as the canoe, floats, fishing poles and large deck. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were beautifully decorated. The kitchen was a joy to cook in: stainless steel appliances, fully stocked and a view of the lake as you cook on the range. We loved staying here and would definitely return!
