This house is amazing! I was here recently for a spring weekend with 3 other people and we enjoyed our stay immensely. The house itself has a wooden cabin feel, but it's so much more spacious than any cabin I've seen. The high ceiling in the living room really makes a difference when relaxing by the fire or looking out to the incredible sweeping view across the large wrap-around porch. It really does feel like you're on the edge of a steep cliff or in a really large tree house. Late one night, when trying to see some stars on the porch, we saw the moon rise coming over the mountain across the valley, which was an amazing thing to see. And the next morning we saw a young deer cross the driveway from the kitchen window. :) The property is beautifully landscaped and secluded, and the house is charmingly decorated--we spent all of our time in the house save for a quick 2 hour hike near Margaretville, which is a short drive away and is where we got our groceries. The kitchen, where we spent a lot of time cooking, was spacious and well stocked--my only criticism was that when we found the coffee grinder, it was broken. This was a shame because we'd seen it listed in the amenities section and were counting on it for the great coffee beans we'd brought. The managers were very easy to work with, and though there are plenty of rules regarding the house, they were all pretty easy to follow--i would definitely love to come again, hopefully for longer! Views like that are really hard to get sick of, and when it was time to leave we were all lamenting how short our stay had been.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

we went up here for a long weekend for my birthday a few weeks ago. we loved this house! we woke up every morning to watch the sun rise. plus you get great cell service (many towns up there you don't) it's very close to phoenicia where we went to eat most of the time when we weren't cooking at the house. plus tons of great movies to pick from when you want to just sit in, snuggle by the fire and watch a movie. only thing we wished the hot tub was set up but the house was still amazing either way. plus if anyone is bringing kids/friends the upstairs is totally private and away from the downstairs. we had my dad come visit for a night to see the house and we still totally had our privacy. the views are just beyond amazing. we took so many pictures/videos while up there. it's also not to far from Woodstock! we went there during the day and our chihuahua is one of the woodstock fleadogs now! (some blog) should also mention our dog loved the outside area of the house so much. she was running all over through the leaves, up and down the hill. never seen her so happy.Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
