  Overall, a very nice experience. Lovely property. Would have been nice to have the pool close by (across a main street - closed at 6pm) - for my children's benefit. Wouldn't matter if you are traveling without kids as the beach is FABULOUS and only a few minutes walk away. Easy to get chairs/towels - friendly staff. Nice condo. Only thing was that it was listed as sleeping 5 - but accommodations only for 4. we had to rent a bed for our third child. Owner was great about this tho - when I emailed her about it, she refunded me the cost of renting the extra bed without my even asking. Awesome communication. I would definitely come back - love love love Kauai!!!! :)))

  This unit is very nice and in my opinion is economical for the space and amenities you are getting in the unit as well as the resort location and its amenities. It was just my husband and I staying here. I noted the previous renter's comment about the sofa sleeper. Obviously that wasn't an issue for us. The kitchen and bath updates are very nice. The king bed was very comfortable. The unit was clean. Regarding steps with no handrail, there are 2 ways to the condos in this building. I thought the sidewalk entry from the parking area didn't have any steps. Maybe I've forgotten? I know there were steps at the central entry to the building. At any rate these steps are to all the units so I think this would be an overall issue for the Resort not just this owner? The Resort is beautiful, the beach and wide open lawn by the beach are an easy walk. There are convenient BBQ grills around the property. You can walk to the shopping center across the street which has some very good restaurants and shops. Be careful crossing the road. An excellent location. We are early risers. If you like to sleep in be aware that units in this area get some early morning truck/equipment noise for deliveries? etc (not sure exactly), but it appears that there is an area for maintenance equipment right across the parking lot. Of course the roosters may wake you first. I think a couple and 2 small children could enjoy this unit. More than 2 adults would be tight. (Just my opinion.) If you want to economize, I guess 4 adults would get along okay. This was our first experience with a VRBO and we were very pleased with the process and communications with the owner.

  Dear Lester family - our time at unit 50 was very enjoyable. We have been to Kiahuna Plantation several times and stayed in many units. This time we decided to stay a bit closer to the beach and off the main road. The amenities were great and the kitchen remodel is beautiful. The view of the lawn scape and twin bridge is gorgeous and a shortcut to the beach. We spent a lot of time outdoors swimming and exploring the island but it was nice to come back to a clean and comfortable condo. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful home.

  Overall nice condo. It was clean and conveniently located. Close to many attractions. King bed very comfortable. However, the fold out sleeper was ridiculous - worst sleeper ever. There were three in our party and we took turns sleeping on the floor. There was mold on one of the living room chair cushions. The 3 steps leading to the condo had no handrails, which my mom desperately needed. Other condos had them. Owner offered me a small refund for difference in cleaning fees since management of the condo changed from Outrigger to Castle - never saw that refund. Kiahuna Plantation is awesome - fabulous beach with towels and supplies for snorkeling, beautiful grounds, and great restaurants. If I come back to Kauai I would definitely come to Kiahuna again, but would select a different condo.

  Owner response: Your feedback is much appreciated. Our customers are our eyes and ears. Mold in this climate is common, however, with frequent deep cleaning this should not be an issue. I will get with the resort immediately and have this remedied. I was unaware of the condition of the sleeper sofa and will also consider the best solution, whether a new sofa or mattress. After a day of Hawaiian activities, it is important to be comfortable. Additionally, I have reported your concerns regarding handrails to the resort management. Most importantly, I like to conduct business in the highest of integrity. As discussed, your refund will processed promptly.   We spent 6 days on the north shore and then move south for a final 5 days. (drive from airport is very easy and with no traffic takes approx 30 minutes). We arrived and were immediately impressed by the stunning well kept grounds. We arrived at check in , where the staff would extremely helpful and very polite and friendly. We were in unit 50 building 10. The apartment was clean , had an excellent balcony facing the garden and was a 3 minute walk to the beach. The beach was clean , free towels and chairs were available . We spent most of our time hiking in the canyon whIch was less than an hour away by car. very close by the resort there were numerous restaurants and grocery shops. There were also BBQs on the grounds which we really enjoyed. Overall we had a very good experience however one area of caution for light sleepers - there is no glass in the windows just shutters with screens - wind / traffic noise could be an issue. There is also a work yard close by and when trucks reverse early in the morning the noise was loud. As I write this they are cutting down branches again the noise is annoying. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and the checkout time of 12.00 was of great benefit. note without the noise factor I would have given 5 stars

  Thank you for the use of your beautiful condo. It was delightful, clean and a beautiful remodel job. I love your appliances. The view from the lanai is gorgeous and a great shortcut to Poipu beach. We enjoyed the Orchid garden on the grounds and hung out at the pool and Casablanca a few days as well. Your unit is comfortable and made us feel at home. We appreciated that it was off the beaten path from the main road.

  Thank you for sharing your immaculate condo with us. It lived up to our highest expectations. The view is wonderful from the lanai and the ocean is truly just around the corner. The new remodel had all the finishing touches. Kiahuna is our favorite place on Kauai. We will be back to stay at your unit.

  We have stayed at Kiahuna Planation several times. This particular unit has been recently remodeled with all the amenities you could need. It has an open and airy feeling with all the plantation shutters. The view from the lanai is priceless and the location is literally around the corner from the ocean. We will be coming back again and again. We just love this island and this resort. There is so much to do if you love the outdoors. Our favorite beach is Poipu beach as it has something for everyone . The 2 restaurants on the premises are five-star with great ambiance.
