Belknap House is your base camp: as dawn breaks over the adjacent Belknap Bridge, one of the remaining covered bridges of Lane County, start your adventure with a full day of hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, golfing, horseback riding, fly fishing, blueberry picking, or whatever you enjoy. In the afternoon, return to base to relax in the tree-house-style deck by the flowing river, or curl up with a good book in a window seat. Later, as evening falls, make dinner together. After dessert of those freshly-picked blueberries on top of homemade ice cream, and perhaps an aperitif or two, play games, tell stories, and trade memories in front of the roaring fire until it is time for bed. Fall deeply asleep until the smell of coffee percolating the next morning leads you to slowly wake up, ready for the adventures the new day will bring.
Newly built in 2011, Belknap House was designed as a private green hideaway. The building is sited so all rooms face the river with views that let in light, sound, and aroma while maintaining your privacy from the fishermen in McKenzie river drift boats and paddlers in whitewater rafts heading downstream during the summer. Belknap House respects the natural riparian habitat and old-growth forest that are essential for the frogs, beavers, rainbow trout, cut-throat salmon, and their friends who thrive here.

Three guests have left complaints in the guest book, related to the sheets for the downstairs bedroom, a pipe in the kitchen, and a toilet. We immediately fixed those problems by buying new, comfortable sheets, tightening the thread on the leaky pipe, and clearing out the drain from the toilet to the septic tank. Any time day or night during your stay, you can call the property manager to have these types of issues cleared up right away.
