Our Family Beach Vacation in August 2012 The Solana Unit 3 N Robert P from Tampa, FL recommends this vacation rental The photos do not express the large size and the style of this beautiful condo on the beach. It was a perfect layout and location on the beach for our family. We loved the view of the Gulf and the view of the beach facing North. The pool was great to have for the kids and it was nice that our condo overlooked it as well. The private elevator access directly to the room was a plus for sure. The kitchen layout was perfect with lots and lots of cabinet space, very well planned out. The 2nd very large master suite set up with kitchenette was perfect for my mother-in-law staying with us. Our 4 children had a wonderful time and we had plenty of room for us all and we look forward to staying here again. Thanks for a great relaxing vacation Resort Rentals!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The management was super and the unit was very clean. We were there for 49 days. Great, great location next to the Don with an outstanding view of the gulf. We definitely would recommend this unit and will be going back next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Just an beautiful, roomy, tastefully appointed, clean modern condominium with a breathtaking view located close to beachy resorts on one side and eclectic PasAGille on the other side. Heated pool was a great addition. Solana is a great escape for a family, for a few or for a group. Resort Rentals was extremely helpful at all times. We loved it and will return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

My family and I couldn't ask for a better resort than the Solana for our vacation. The condo was very spacious with a bathroom in each of the bedroom areas which is definately a plus. As a homebuilder we could see the quality was A1 and the ocean views within the main living areas breathtaking. Just a short walk to the beach also a plus. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. We would highly recommend the Solana!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

It really was little bit of paradise. Unbelievably spacious, we had plenty of room and so did our five guests. The magnificent gulf views from the living room and the balconies are unparalleled.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

My family along with my two siblings and their families rented the Solana Penthouse to celebrate our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. It was right on the beach with panoramic ocean views. We enjoyed watching the dolphins every morning from our balcony, and cooked several big family meals in the state-of-the-art kitchen. It was very spacious and beautiful -just what we wanted. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

Stayed for week of Thanksgiving 2011. Very disappointed to find the following: -all thermostats had locked boxes over them preventing you from changing the temperature -was told at check-in that we could not use the induction heat for cooktop, not realizing that this prevented use of two of the four burners. -the one and only light fixture in the master bath's private WC had been removed preventing use of this private toilet -during our stay, we realized that a nasty sewer smell was coming from one of the toilets. The sewer pipe that should prevent this from happening was either clogged or missing. -the kitchen lacked a matching set of plates for ten people (the noted sleeping capacity) -most of the six and a half baths only had a bath towel and no face cloths -the door of the full bath on the jacuzzi deck would not even stay closed -this "penthouse" rental did not even have a small desktop music system Only after we demanded that many of these problems be addressed, the head of the rental company arrived with small battery operated lights for the master bath WC, brought a cooktop repairman to allow us to use the third and fourth burners on the cooktop, provided a set of ten matching plates, supplied face cloths for the baths, provided a partial repair of the bathroom door on the jacuzzi deck, and provided a small "desktop" music system for the living room. When renting a "6,000 square foot penthouse" for a hefty weekly rental amount, you would not expect to experience these kinds of things. Sadly, we had to demand that many of these problems be addressed before anything was done about them.Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts concerning your stay. I am sorry that we disappointed you but assure you it was not intentional. I was aware you had several concerns and complaints but thought we had resolved them to your satisfaction. It is apparent from your review, we did not and for that I apologize. I would like to take this opportunity to address your concerns again in the order you list them. The thermostats must all be concurrently set at the same temperature to insure optimum performance of the air conditioner. You agreed to a temperature that you were comfortable with and we set it at that degree. The boxes are there to avoid a mishap which could result in the air conditioner breaking down during your stay. I apologize that the stove was not working as until the repair man notified me, I was unaware that specific pots and pans only would activate the 2 burners. The 2nd toilet in the master bath is currently not available for use as there is a wiring issue with the light. Being we do not advertise in writing that there are two toilets in the master bath and we never promoted the unit with that as a selling point, we chose to postpone the work until after the holiday. This is the first we have heard that there is a smell in one of the baths and I will send maintenance out to investigate. The kitchen is fully equipped with dinnerware and utensils but the owners did choose to go with a fun eclectic feel in the kitchens. Once you told us that you preferred all 10 plates to match we did purchase you a special set for your function. I spoke with housekeeping and was told that each bathroom is stocked with 3 bath towels, 3 wash cloths and 2 hand towels. There is an additional supply of these items in the laundry room as well. I am not sure why there was a shortage of wash cloths in the bathrooms during your stay but as you know from your own experience, we are always able to furnish you with more if needed. Avoiding a sound system is a choice that is often made by owners when furnishing a rental unit. I am glad that we were able to purchase one for your use while you were here. As a direct result of your request we have convinced the owner to add small CD players to all the units! Again I apologize for the initial inconvenience. I realize these explanations do not justify these things happening but hope it helps to show we were very concerned from the moment you phoned us and had everything resolved as soon as possible.
