This spacious (3200 sq.ft.)secluded home located in Palmetto Dunes at 12 Cartgate. Many guest say it is a quiet spiritual retreat. Palmetto Dunes was ranked #1 in the world for family vacations in 2003 by "Travel & Leisure Magazine". Our home is 5 blocks from the beach plus 2 1/2 blocks to bridge crossing lagoon for a 8-14 minute beautiful walk.
It has four bedrooms all with own private bath, allowing for sleeping of eight to ten adults, up to eleven with kids. The home built in 1995 has been beautifully decorated by a nationally recognized Hilton Head interior decorator. An in 2004, improvements including color coordination. The great room is a wonderful gathering place featuring den (with TV/VCR-DVD-CD combo/2nd CD changer/true theater surround sound with 6 channels + subwoofer. The Spa/Hot Tub is just outside in screened in nook with glass ceiling.
The kitchen is well appointed: breakfast bar seatings for 6 are in or face kitchen, bay window breakfast table seats 6-8. The flow of the house is perfect for entertaining. Total seating for eating is 18-24. For more privacy you can adjourn to the formal living room with a fireplace and cathedral ceiling. The dining room is more formal and seats eight to ten.
The master bedroom with a double glass door opening onto the deck has a king bed, TV/VCR, shower, a large jetted tub, and a large walk in closet. The second bedroom overlooks the secluded front yard, has TV/VCR and king swing bed; its' bath has a tub/shower. The third bedroom has twin beds and TV with VCR/CD/DVD combo; it's bath has shower stall. The fourth bedroom is a large room above garage and separate from main bedroom area-perfect for children! It is equipped with a TV, VCR/CD/DVD combo, CD changer hi-fi system, game table, twin beds, and a sectional sofa/queen sleeper which could sleep two adults or three kids. It has a tub/shower.
One of the favorite features is a large hot tub that will seat a minimum of 6 adults. It is ozone purified, good for sensitive skin, like a baby's. The hot tub is in a screened-in nook with glass ceiling, surrounded on the other three sides by walls of the house, one being just off the den access. This allows comfortable use in winter.
Outback you will find expansive decks and pool area offering all the comforts you could want in a vacation home including, chaise lounges, grill, and umbrella-ed table-seating for outside dining. Palmetto Dunes has 15 miles of connected lagoons, unique in all of Hilton Head Island, allowing for boating for great bird-watching,other wild life, fishing, rowing, etc. Boat & kayak rental close by. Gym and other facilities of the Hilton Head OceanFront Resort can be used for $17/week ($34 for couples), $39 a month ($63 couples).
Smoking and pets not allowed. Local agency to handle any concerns.
*Pool is 26 ft.long & 14 ft. at widest diagonal. One can swim laps around the curves. It can be heated upon request at an additional charge by electric heat pump. There is no charge for heating hot tub; it's lowest temp. is 80 degree default, so turn up to desired temp.
