What a wonderful experience we had staying with Leigh at her fantastic Spartan Hideaway. Ricky & I were surprised to find that all of the comforts of home were meticulously detailed for our 4th of July, 3-Day stay. We enjoyed the BBQ, Hot-Tub privacy and the charm of the private deck and newly installed air conditioner in what gave full comfort due to the very hot weekend. We cooked on the Gas Stove as if it were just like home. A very romantic stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone who would like the unique experience of a return to the Good Ol' Days of a private Camp Out with all of the modern conveniences. Leigh really made us feel at home. We were the 2nd Guests to stay here and I'm glad we did! Thank you Leigh….we'll be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We spent a relaxing vacation at The Hideaway. The property is located in a beautiful countryside setting, minutes from Calistoga and world class wineries, yet seemingly worlds away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The property is accessed via a senic country road and two privacy gates. We arrived to find the Spartan clean and well appointed. Every amenity has been thought of including towels and robes for the spa, a fully appointed kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals, two flat screen tv's, a stereo with an eclectic selection of music, and a propane grill outside with grilling utensils. We cooked breakfast every morning before heading out for the day, and returned in the evening to cook outside on the grill and lounge in the spa with a glass of wine. Make the short drive up the 128 to Bennett Lane for some wonderful cabs, then continue north to the Jimtown Store for a great deli lunch before heading into Healdsburg for tasting bars and antique shops. Or take 29 south to Calistoga, St. Helena or Yountville. Make reservations to visit Rubicon Estate, Caymus, or our favorite, the AVA blending experience at Conn Creek. Each day of our stay was made nicer knowing we would be returning that evening to the Spartan for an evening of good food, wine and relaxation. Although there are two other residences on the property, we rarely saw the owner or other guests. The location of the buildings and the surrounding trees provide a great deal of privacy. We only encountered others as they were coming or going on the access road. The owner was very helpful with any needs or questions we had. The Spartan was exceedingly clean and well maintained. The futon bed was comfortable. The bathroom, while small, was stocked with amenities and has a full sized shower. There are heaters, a/c units and fans to keep you comfortable. Direct TV with HBO on the flat screen tv's. Great period style furnishings and decorative touches throughout make the Spartan a very cool, one of a kind residence. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to a return visit!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

As the very first guest of this lovely vintage trailer, we're please to report that it did not disappoint. Just a few minutes drive from the amenities of Calistoga, but nestled privately in the trees and hills a world, the Hideaway is a really unique way to spend some quality time in the Napa Valley. The trailer is complete charming and offers plenty of space -- a fully living room, ample kitchen, and cozy bedroom in addition to a wrap around deck in somewhat secluded setting; there are n other units around, but the road and gate run nearby (within view of the hot tub). It's also worth noting that the bathroom/shower is small, and closes with an accordion door, which is potentially less-than-private if you don't know yet know your travel partner well! The nightly rate is on par with what a few of faded mud-bath 'resorts' in Calistoga will charge for a simple motel room, and is a tremendous bargain -- the style, comfort, value and plain cool factor of the Hideway make it impossible to beat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: The first guests in the Hideaway hit it perfectly EXCEPT for one thing. The road he referred to was the driveway leading up to the Hideaway after passing thru 2 privacy gates, with absolutely NO traffic except myself going to the top of the hill quite a ways up... The Hideaway is in a group of very tall trees, and the hot tub cannot be seen from the driveway unless you had ex-ray eyes... I loved his description and will enjoy sharing it with many guests to come...
