Why the Owner Chose North Eastham

North Eastham is convenient to so much of what the Cape has to offer. It is one of the narrowest towns on the Cape..making it a short walk to the bay and a short drive to the ocean. There is a large fresh water swimming pond, with lifeguards, within walking distance of the house as well. North Eastham is home to the National Seashore Beach.. Coast Guard and a five minute drive to the Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary. Close by are all the places mentioned in the description and it is also the first town on the Cape that my husband and I visited together. After months of searching, we found this unique house in a rare, beautiful setting. We like its less manicured, woodsy feel.

The Unique Benefits at this A Frame House

Our property is private...We sit on a "Cape Cod" acre. It is quiet and woodsy located down a sandy/grassy lane. ( No Rt. 6 traffice noise) There are other homes nearby but you have the sense of privacy without feeling isolated. I love to garden so there are plantings all over and the deck and upstairs balcony offer nice venues to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. The house has an open loft like main floor. The ceilings are high and the glass "walls of windows" allow one to bring the outdoors, indoors. The bay is a short walk (1/2 mile) away and the bike trail, restaurants, etc are easy to access. I love to cook also so the kitchen has lobster pots, bread maker, etc...everything the cook needs to prepare meals if you choose. Children are always welcome and they enjoy the spiral staircase as much as the safe play area all around the house. The kids will be safe so parents can relax.
The backyard is a large open area and there is a private hot/cold shower room there with a lovely beachy garden for dining and BBQ.
Check out our guestbook for more on what visitors have to say about their Nauset Teepee experience!

Owner's Map of North Eastham

Although we grew up in the "City" and now live in the Hudson Valley farm country, we LOVE the beach. In our early days of marriage, pre-kids, we'd go to the antique shops on the weekends and one time we found an antique CRAB door knocker. We joked that we'd build a beach house for it someday. When the opportunity came to buy this house we did and gave the CRAB a home :) Our children feel that Cape Cod is just as much home as where we live most of the time. They are well versed in fishing, crabbing, boating, whales, turtles and TIDES...a world very different from the pastures here in NY state. Because it is our second home, you will not feel like it is a rental. We take pride in making it feel like home. As a matter of fact, our House was featured on HGTV's National Open House in August 2007. We can't imagine life without our Cape Cod Teepee.

    • We had a wonderful time at this vacation home. Eastham is our favorite place to stay on the Cape and the teepee made us feel as if we had a fabulous 2nd home. Our two preschoolers were comfortable and played easily in the laid back atmosphere- and what a bonus that there was a collection of kids movies to view & blocks in the closet. The A-frame home was an architectural dream that made me wish I had friends in the area to entertain and show the place off to. It's near many beaches & bike paths, yet very secluded and a terrific retreat at the end of a day after being in the sun. We look forward to going back next year. Highly recommended without any reservations!

    • When I think of beach house rentals, I think of bungalows located so close to one and other that you can hear your neighbors conversation while having your breakfast. The other memory that sticks in my mind is small rooms crammed with furniture and still no place to sit. Well, that was not the case here! What a wonderful surprise to find our rental so privately nestled in our own little wooded alcove. We were further delighted by the accommodations. The downstairs area is like a spacious great room where many people can be together. It was light, airy and simple. Stress free. The perfect interlude for a week of relaxation. And of course it was clean and fresh. It will always be our choice for a vacation on the Cape.

    • We LOVED the Nausett Teepee! It is not your cookie cutter Cape rental. The coziest house we've ever rented with enchanting artistic details and found beach treasures throughout. We really found our jewel rental and can not wait to go back! Thank you Mino family!!

    • We stayed at this beautiful and rustic cottage in early summer and had a great time. Even though the weather was cooler than expected, we still enjoyed the surrounding beaches, walking trails, or just relaxing inside. The outdoor hot shower was such a neat and enjoyable addition to the place.
