This is a wonderful home! We've been going to the Cape for years and this was one of the best rentals we've had. It's convenient to everything, yet really private and off the beaten track. Because it's really right in the middle of the Cape, we were able to easily visit our regular haunts at each end and also discover new places we didn't know existed. The weather was lousy the whole time we were there which made the coziness and cleanliness of the house even more welcome. The owners have thought of everything to make a relaxing stay - comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, lots of games and books, good Internet access, etc., etc. We're sorry we didn't discover this home when our kids were small, but we hope to return, with or without them, sometime during the regular season. Don't hesitate to stay in this unique, fun home!
Owner response:Even though my mantra often is "any day at the beach is a good day" I wish the sun could have come out for you a bit! Crazy weather this year! It seems you made the most of it despite the weather and I am pleased you enjoyed the comforts of the house. Please do come back again .....a great place for "couples" and their 'kids" of all ages!

The property was perfect for us. The house is near bike paths and beaches. The owners were very helpful and accommodating.
Owner response:I am very happy that it all worked out so well. I love the message the kids left in the in house guest book. I can tell they had a great time!

I have come to the Eastham since I was a child, and have rented for over 20 years. Nauset Teepee was clearly the best place we've ever stayed. The cottage was very charming, and well-maintained. Although it has rustic charm, it has all of the comforts of home, and very comfortable beds. The Teepee even got an A + from out teenage son. When you sit outside, you are surrounded by wildflowers and the sounds of birds. It is a totally private oasis, and close to wonderful beaches. We recommend this cottage very highly!
Owner response:It is always music to our ears to hear from a family such as yourselves " that the Teepee was clearly the best place we've ever stayed". Even more delightful when it comes from "hard-core" Cape Cod visitors like yourselves! An "A+" from a teenage boy.....WELL... now .you have left me speechless :) Hope to have you back next summer.....

We spent a very nice week at the Nauset Teepee this July. The house was well kept and clean, and everything seemed to be in working order. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and the spiral staircase added a little rustic charm. The outdoor shower was wonderful- clean, spacious, and of course the hot water was a big plus. We had a great time here and spent a lot of our vacation at the nearby local beaches, only a 10 minute walk from the house. This was a wonderful vacation house in a quiet, woodsy area, perfect for a little R&R.
Owner response:I am glad to hear that the house was comfortable even during your very hot week. The trees on the property keep it cool and shaded from that afternoon sun. Please come back anytime for some more beach life and R&R...enjoyed having you as guests!

Our family of 5 enjoyed a beautiful week at "the tee pee." The kids loved the spiral staircase and all the games!!! The house was clean, spacious, and well stocked. We loved riding our bikes to all the nearby beaches and lakes!! We can't wait to come back again next summer!
Owner response:So happy to hear you had a beautiful week....that spiral staircase, the A frame shape , open loft like common area and all the games always seem to appeal to the kids, and the kids at heart :) We try to stock it will spices and paper products, dish soap, laundry detergent etc so that your first day there isn't about running out for those items. We've noticed that if we get it started that way in the beginning of the summer, folks always carry it through so that the next family will have it when they arrive. That's the Cape way! Looking forward to your return visit next summer.

We have stayed at several houses in North Eastham over the last decade and by far this was the best! The Teepee was just as described and surpassed our expectations. The property was well maintained, clean and very family-friendly. We had wet weather towards the end of our stay and the board games kept our family occupied for hours ( tough to do with two 14 year olds that wanted to be on the computer most of the time). The outdoor shower was the BEST we have ever experienced- seperate shower area from dry area with plenty of hooks and a seat. Loved it. We had an easy drive to the Bay and the many restaurants and easy access to Route 6. Despite the fact that the property is very close to a well travelled road- the trees and grounds deadened the traffic sounds- we really felt like we were 'in the woods'. This was a great find. We look forward to satying at the Teepee again.
Owner response:We are sooooooo glad to hear that staying at The Teepee was the best house of all the houses you've been to in the past decade! Fantastic. I know it is true because I got your other email about booking the same week for next year and yup! you've got it! Looking forward to having you back. :)

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Wonderfully comfortable, inviting, and relaxing. Those are just a few of the words I would use to describe this house and the grounds surrounding it. The open floor plan of the first floor makes it so easy to enjoy each other's company even if all are in different areas taking part in different activities. Though we did not have young children with us, I'm sure the children who do stay here are very happy with the large assortment of games. I regret that we did not make use of the firepit in the back yard - I really wish we had. Though the area's sights and attractions are only a short driving distance away, once you pull in the driveway you feel as if you are in another world - private and quiet - magnificent! We would open the curtains wide every morning to have full view of the glorious scenery (the "walls" of windows made this even more spectacular) . We very much enjoyed the abundant wildlife that includes chipmunks, rabbits, various birds (ALOT of beautiful blue jays), and I caught a quick glimpse of a deer. Be sure to bring peanuts and sunflower seeds to ensure alot of visits from them. I must say that I envy the owners - being able to come to this retreat whenever they like! You truly will feel at home here. I hope we will be able to stay again next year! Thank you so much
Owner response:Yes...it is ONE OF A KIND. The first time we saw the house we were also attracted to the open floor plan, high ceilings, bedrooms that really are true bedroom sized rooms and of course, the "wall" of windows. Over the years we have cultivated a garden and "tamed" the wilderness a tad, keeping all the native plants and trees that feed the birds intact. Since we do entertain here frequently, and visit all year long, we update as needed and when it strikes our fancy:) giving it that comfortable home away from home feeling. Sooooo glad you enjoyed it all! Now all you need to do is plan for next year, pick your week and let me know....the firepit is waiting for you and your marshmellows......

Our family of five stayed for a week in late April. The house was perfect -- exceeding expectations. Very comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed (including lots of books, board games, and movies for the kids). It has obviously been furnished/maintained with a lot of thought and care. Owners were enjoyable and easy to deal with. Easy access by bike or car to beaches and town. We'll come back and would recommend the property.
Owner response:It will be our pleasure to welcome you and your family back anytime. We enjoy knowing that our house exceeds expectations! We agree, it is a special place. Thank you for sharing your comments and hope to have you back on the Cape soon!

what I want in a vacation rental is privacy, seclusion, and natural beauty. It is all here at this wonderful cottage. I love being able to come back after being in the glaring sun, and just hang out in the shady yard, listening to the birds and the wind, looking at the glittery leaves, and feeling the breeze. Inside it feels like a rustic cottage, but, with all the amenities and comforts like comfy beds and washer/dryer. There are lots of games, toys, videos, and books so we didn't have to bring a lot. It is just a wonderful place to be, it really feels rejuvinating even just being at the cottage. We loved this place and are so greatful that it is here, that the natural area is maintained and that it is shared. The owner is super easy to work with, answered all emails and phone calls, returned the deposit right away, etc. We look forward to returning next year!
Owner response:Ahhhhh..your description puts me right there. A kindred spirit. We aim to keep it comfy and natural and shared. Thanks for putting words to "The Teepee" experience. Lovely. We are certainly welcoming your return visit.

We have stayed at the teepee several times with our children ages 5-22! We have all loved our stay and have wanted to return. We really like the nearby bike path and the bay side beach. Little children can safely swim and later we search for treasures at low tide. When you are ready for the full surf, Coast Guard Beach is a short drive or bike ride away. The house is secluded and cozy, birds sing continually. On our last visit we counted 4 or 5 cardinals while eating our breakfast on the porch. As has been mentioned, you will find lots of movies, games and books for those rainy days or evenings. My favorite feature of this cottage is the wonderful outdoor shower! It is soo rejuvinating!! If you want to be near the ocean with the woods surrounding you, this is THE place!
Owner response:I agree. There's something extra special about taking that shower outdoors. I see that you have gotten to know all the local spots well during your previous visits and are enjoying them . How wonderful that the whole family can still get together for the vacation weeks. Enjoy your next visit and thank you for choosing our house for your Cape holidays!

In a great location on the Cape. Quiet, relaxing locale near two wonderful beaches...Nauset Light Beach and Coastguard Beach. Small but functional kitchen. Nice gas grill and backyard picnic table. Located just off the paved road, a few houses down a gravel and dirt road. It's about a 1 mile away from the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The Idle Times Bike Shop is close by. I rented a bike from them for the week. They were great. I also enjoyed the casual, family owned and operated Cooke's restaurant in Orleans. Enjoyed my stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back.
Owner response:Very happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Will have to check out Cooke's ourselves since you recommended. And the resident bunny? ... only comes out for special folks you know. You are welcome back anytime. Thanks for visiting.

We had a wonderful time at this vacation home. Eastham is our favorite place to stay on the Cape and the teepee made us feel as if we had a fabulous 2nd home. Our two preschoolers were comfortable and played easily in the laid back atmosphere- and what a bonus that there was a collection of kids movies to view & blocks in the closet. The A-frame home was an architectural dream that made me wish I had friends in the area to entertain and show the place off to. It's near many beaches & bike paths, yet very secluded and a terrific retreat at the end of a day after being in the sun. We look forward to going back next year. Highly recommended without any reservations!

When I think of beach house rentals, I think of bungalows located so close to one and other that you can hear your neighbors conversation while having your breakfast. The other memory that sticks in my mind is small rooms crammed with furniture and still no place to sit. Well, that was not the case here! What a wonderful surprise to find our rental so privately nestled in our own little wooded alcove. We were further delighted by the accommodations. The downstairs area is like a spacious great room where many people can be together. It was light, airy and simple. Stress free. The perfect interlude for a week of relaxation. And of course it was clean and fresh. It will always be our choice for a vacation on the Cape.

We stayed at this beautiful and rustic cottage in early summer and had a great time. Even though the weather was cooler than expected, we still enjoyed the surrounding beaches, walking trails, or just relaxing inside. The outdoor hot shower was such a neat and enjoyable addition to the place.

Our daughter-in-law and son's family (3 boys) and we had a delightful week on the Cape. The accomodations in the Nauset Teepee are ever so comfortable and accomodated the 7 of us well. The boys loved seeing the wildlife--bunnies, birds, chipmonks, squirrels and fireflies! It is close to the beach, shops, National Park Shoreline and towns up and down the Cape. The owners are just the best. They are accessible and helpful. Believe the brochure! This is truly a wonderful place for families.

Comfortable and well-located Cape house with everything needed for a classic beach vacation. Walk to funky store and bayside beach -- kids loved tidepooling there -- or drive to ocean beaches, tidal marshes, terrific Audubon nature center. Great food in Wellfleet. Owners are charming and helpful as can be. Highly recommend!

Great place, surrounded by woods, very peaceful and quaint (in a funky, 70's hip kind of way). Be prepared for spiral stairs (your kids will probably love them). Very functional and user-friendly house, comfortable & clean with updated bathrooms, open kitchen, great outdoor shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
