  First I want to thank the owners for their gracious hopitality and helpfulness for a total stranger. I truly enjoyed the closeness to the beach, nice restaurtant and excellent coffee places. It is close to the Coaster Train, so getting up and down the coast is very useful, especially going to various beach communities and San Diego. It was private, quiet and truly a wonderful place to relax. In conclusion, if you find the time and want to stay in a great place, this is one, and I will not hestiate to stay again!

  Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

  We had a wonderful stay here. Everything was within easy walking distance - beach, grocery store and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again

  We would highly recommend this guest house and look forward to going back ourselves! We enjoyed the quiet, tucked-away feeling of the guest house (it sits behind the main house and you enter from a separate entrance along the side of the home). Yet it was seconds away from great dining options and just minutes away from the beach. We appreciated that there were plenty of windows to keep fresh air coming in. We would recommend going to the Sunday morning farmers market at the elementary school to buy fresh flowers (they lasted all week!) and great fruits and veggies. We can't wait to go back! Thanks Joe

  My son and I had a wonderful time staying at Joe's place. It is so convieniently located, and is tucked away perfectly on a residential street near the beach. Thank you for your hospitality and gracious stay. We look forward to our next time we can stay with you in Encinitas.

  My husband and I just returned from our stay in Encinitas and we had the best time! This little back house was the perfect amount of space for us and we found everything we needed provided there. We traveled to/from San Diego via the "coaster" and found that extremely user friendly and convenient and traveled within Encinitas on foot or on the bikes provided by the owner, Joe. This place is perfect for a lovely beach getaway and we hope to return soon! Thanks, Joe.

  I stayed here for a long weekend getaway while visiting my daughter at a local college. The furnishings were upscale and comfy, but really, I spent most most of my time out and about enjoying all the things to do in Encinitas within walking distance. The beaches are a short walk with chairs and umbrellas borrowed from the condo, and the local restaurants can't be beat. There's even a 1920s-era movie theater just two blocks away. We hit Whole Foods every morning for breakfast. I love being able to park the car and just walk everywhere. The owner couldn't have been more helpful about things to do, or making sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I are already planning our return trip.

  Joe's condo is very private and in a great location -- steps to both the beach and downtown Encinitas. We were impressed with its nicely appointed interior, including high ceilings and quality furnishings. The bed was very soft and plush, which was fine for us, although it did squeak when either my husband or I got out of it. I wish the bed pillow had been as plush as the bed, but my husband was very satisfied with the foam, and I managed. It was also convenient to have a (Bosch) washer & dryer in the unit. Joe was very accommodating with a couple of small requests (maybe I should have asked for a softer bed pillow). We'd certainly stay there again. It's just the right size for 2 people.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

  Owner response: We always respond immediately to any requests made by our Guests.We would have provided a softer bed pillow, if our Guest had informed us that she was not happy with her pillow. Our place is great for 2 people, but we have had 4 people very comfortable many times before.

  I would give this a 6 star review if it were possible, The owner was very easy to work with before the visit , the location is unbelievable: three minutes walking one direction is the great town of Encinitas 3 minutes the other direction is the D street overlook and the great surf of the Pacific. The unit has anything and everything you would need. My only problem writing this review is that I hope it does not become so popular that I would be unable to return!

  Can't say enough about the location or the accommodations. Clean, well appointed, everything you'll need for that leisure get-away. Perfect for my wife and myself. Great beach, wide variety of restaurants, close to shopping and things to do. Try Honey's Cafe, Blue Ribbon Pizza, St. Tropez or Swamis. Love it. We'll be back. Jim from Michigan.

  Location was fabulous as advertised. Microwave didn't work, but was replaced with a countertop one within a day. Off-street parking that was advertised was not available. Clean. Owner provided grill utensils; very limited pots and pans and other kitchen amenities. I would recommend this rental for a weekend stay with the intent of dining out, but nothing longer. Had just stayed for a month in a one-bedroom that had a most welcoming, accommodating owner, so this experience didn't measure up to the standard of excellence we'd just experienced.

  Owner response: There is off-street parking when necessary, if there is no street parking near our Home. There are more than a sufficient number of pots and pans for a 1 Bedroom Unit. Whenever a tenant requests something, we have always provided it immediately. We would have appreciated it, if this Guest would have let us know that they needed something else. We strive to make our Guests Happy, so that they always have an enjoyable stay.
