Property description

Casa Del Sol is a classic waterfront estate situated on a large corner lot. The interior includes a new gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and premium appliances. An old world charm is captured through the use of arches and stone columns. All rooms, including bedrooms and baths are large, airy and sun drenched. At either end of the house, the two master bedrooms extend out onto beautiful covered balconies. The floors throughout are laid with a rustic travertine marble.

A large brick patio and pool area on the water side overlooks 300' of dock space. A covered barbecue area with built in appliances to include a premium gas grill , power burner, Big Green Egg smoker, sink and refrigerator are surrounded by mature landscaping. An inviting setting for family and friends of all ages.

Weekly Rentals


Weekly rentals in the Keys {and generally elsewhere } are based on a Saturday - Saturday occupancy. Check - in is on Saturday at 3:00 PM, and check - out is on the following Saturday at 10:00 AM. If other times are required \ requested this must be discussed with the homeowner or rental agent.

Year Purchased: 2001

About the owner: We are a retired couple with six children; five boys and a girl. Now that the children are older we do not need as much room, and now spend the winter in our small cottage only a block away from the main house.

Why the Owner Chose Marathon:
For years we vacationed in the Islands, and Belize. As time progressed we decided we wanted something in the US. We decided on the Keys because it was similar to the island life style in many ways with the added advantage of being in the US. Only after living there did we realize that the fishing was superior to both the islands and Belize ! It was also a comfort to know that excellent medical care was less than five miles away.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
Our neighborhood is wonderful in that it provides access to world class snapper fishing around the Seven Mile Bridge without ever having to go out into the ocean. This means fishing in small boats even on very rough days . We are also less than one mile from arguably the nicest beach in the Florida Keys { Sombrero Beach }.
