Nestled on two acres, Grandma's House combines the best of old and new. Cozy living room with large screen TV and gas fireplace; gracious dining room that seats 10; sun porch for morning coffee and quiet reading; modern kitchen with updated appliances and separate pantry; screened porch off the garage for games, music or late night get-togethers; covered outdoor patio for dining or relaxing.

Each of the four bedrooms have good beds, down comforters, reading lights and AC; two have TV's; full bathroom up and down; outdoor shower with hot and cold water; outdoor 4 person hot tub.

Walk 2 blocks to river for clams and crabbing/fishing off the dock (nets and buckets available) - or launching your kayak into Pleasant Bay (rentals in town). Ride your bike two blocks
to the farm stand for homemade bakery products, fresh produce, butcher shop and fish market; local gourmet coffee shop; newspaper and card store; deli for prime meats, wines and picnic supplies for the beach; pizza shop; fine dining restaurants (northern Italian and contemporary); and the best homemade ice cream stand. Dozens of fine eating establishments 1 mile into town. (22 miles to Hyannis, 28 miles to Provincetown)

One mile to Nauset Beach on the Atlantic Ocean (parking pass available); or one mile to Skaket Beach on Cape Cod Bay (great tidal pools for floating and famous sunsets); or one mile to Crystal or Pilgrim Lakes for fresh water swimming.

Options include maid service for mid-week tidy-up; prepared meals for arrival night or special events; four wheeling on the outer ocean beach with picnic lunch; babysitting.

  • What a great house! An family group of six (ranging from 11 months to 63 years old) rented the house for a Cape Cod wedding stay in September. The house was everything the VRBO site promises and much more. Convenient to Cape attractions and remote enough for a quiet retreat, 'Grandma's House' offers everything you'll need for a great getaway. 'Grandma', herself, is in the neighborhood, if you should happen to need anything, but I can't imagine what it would be!

  • Honestly, we're reluctant to share our new found Cape Cod retreat! It is truly the best of everything the Cape has to offer and more. The house has all the amenities you'd want and the warm feeling of-yes-Grandma's house. It is on a beautiful private property, yet close to all the best of the Cape: ocean and bay beaches, restaurants, and other notable towns and destinations for day trips. It is one of those few vacation-rental 'finds' that has all the tangible requisites that are promised in the write-up, as well as the intangible certain somethings that make the home feel as comfortable and relaxing as your own home, yet also the ultimate getaway. Kitchen, beds, indoor/outdoor living space - all more than you could ask for.

  • Look no further! Seriously. This house has everything – and more! Perfect for family reunions, or large families with children, or several couples. Everything is as described in the write-up- in fact, it’s modest, it really doesn’t do it justice. The location is perfect-extremely close to town, shops, ocean and bay access, there’s even water a few houses down the road for boating, fishing, etc. I can’t say enough about the owner and her welcoming and accommodating manner. Bikes, games, books, outdoor shower with hot and cold, hot tub under the stars, I could go on and on… The kitchen is every renters (cook’s and baker’s too) dream (and we’ve rented houses all over the world). Book lovers, beware- there’s enough to last a life time! Comfortable beds, furniture, cozy seating under a fully furnished canopy just off the kitchen, a delightful morning room/sun porch, then there’s the screened room next to the garage- a with a TV, furniture and sound system, and a ping-pong table upstairs! We can’t wait to go back, and we just wanted to share this superb find with others.
