Enjoy vibrant sunrises and breathtaking moonrises that turn the bay into moon water. The ever-changing vista provides you with colorful evening skies and occasional fog rolling over Angel Island. Be lulled to sleep with sounds of seals barking and foghorns in the distance. Your weekend view is highlighted by accents of color on the water from sailboats and their unfurled spinnaker sails. Sit back and relax. You’re in paradise. Years of thoughtful and heartfelt decorating has made this home feed the soul. Warmly colored rooms, soft accent lighting, Chinese and domestic antiques, gorgeous rugs on hardwood floors and walls embraced with art feed your aesthetic senses.
Upstairs is the main living area that includes the master bedroom (with king bed), master bath, living room with fireplace and bay view dining area, front deck, and kitchen with another dining area that has sliding glass doors opening to the garden. Both the master bedroom and living room have water views and sliding glass doors that open up to a large front deck with a sitting area and outdoor heater.
Upon entering the house, the first bedroom downstairs is configured as an office/library for those who need privacy to stay in touch with the outside world, or simply use as a place to read and write or as a woman/man cave. The second bedroom has a queen bed and piano. The guest bathroom, sauna, and laundry room are adjacent to it. Both bedrooms have French doors that open up to a side yard with colorful plants.
This home is so close to so many attractions. But why leave? Staying here may just provide all the sensory satisfaction, relaxation, and getaway you’re looking for. The kitchen is well equipped with all one needs in terms of spices, utensils, etc. A charcoal BBQ is in the garden. Cozy fireplace and lighting for your evenings inside. Our host made us feel very welcome and provided us with extensive communication as to what to expect, weather and local amenities. Our family was impressed with the level of accommodations and the comfort that was afforded us. Extensive thought and care as gone into the property and it is very apparent. We would certainly return when given the chance.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed a week at this house and had a great time. The house was well kept, and had everything you need (plus more) for an extended stay. The kids loved exploring the back patio, and watching the sail boats from the front. Good base for exploring wine country, Muir woods, and the city. Highly recommend this property for anyone interested in visiting bay area that wants to explore the bay area, while still being relatively close to the city.Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: As a flight attendant on a voluntary furlough until March 2014, I thought that having all this time off would be a great opportunity to remodel the kitchen (complete) and rent my home before I go back to work next year. I have a wonderful place to stay while renting my home just a five minute walk away. Basic stats: Born in Finland, grew up in Chicago, in California since 1983. Lived in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany for almost two years and various places in the US before settling in CA. Worked in sales/marketing for 13 yrs before flying. Speak Finnish, German, French and more than enough English! Love the active lifestyle this area has to offer: year-round cycling, running, tennis, golf, sailing and skiing (the latter is three hours away.) Hope you, as well, will enjoy this outdoor California lifestyle during your visit, along with all the other Bay Area treats!
Why the Owner Chose Tiburon:
Tiburon is a world class community unlike any other! The views from most homes like mine, since we're situated on a hilly peninsula, are spectacular and constantly changing because there's so much going on with Mother Nature and our man made vessels on the bay. Never a dull moment! My home is directly across from Angel Island and has amazing views of it, the East Bay, the city and from the deck, the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
My home is filled with artifacts, antiques, art, and rugs that all tell a story. I know we'll not spend the time with those stories, unless you really want to hear them, but you'll be in a lovingly decorated home, not a chain store decorating venue, not that there's anything wrong with that. You can walk to town (less than a mile away) go hiking in the hills above, or take the ferry into the city. Or just stay in the house and enjoy the daily changing scenery unfolding before you. It's really a Paradise Retreat and thanks for choosing this home for your stay!
