  We loved our week in paradise. This cottage is the perfect size and is very clean. We had a wonderful time walking around and taking in the scenery. There are so many fish in the canal and we loved seeing them all up so close. We really enjoyed being able to relax in the backyard and fish in the canal while also enjoying the tiki hut and pool. We have been to "the Keys" several times and this was by far our favorite trip yet. It is just the perfect distance from Bahia Honda or Key West. We even got married on Smathers Beach during our stay and have already made plans to come back for our anniversary!! Counting the days 'til we get to go back!

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

  We found this little cottage clean clean clean. For our 2 Week Stay it was charming, but not fancy - which we were not looking for fancy at all- private and easy to live in-it is equipped well for cooking if you wish. We enjoyed-- so much--the heated little built-in pool- so well designed for so small! And the tiki hut shade by the pool we used everyday.There are great places to eat out and a nice grocery store & walgreens very near. We loved that it had WiFi for our tablets outside and Cable TV. Dealing with the Owner was excellent also. Any question-- we got quick email replies and everything ran very, very smooth. We will defiently try to go back- it was one of our best vacations.

  Great place to stay when visiting the Lower keys. Short drive to key west, biaha honda, restaurants, grocery store nearby. Very quiet area, great sun rise.

  This was our first trip down to the Keys with our son, age 6, so we were looking for a small place to spend relaxing afternoons after long days of fishing, exploring, and snorkeling. We chose Summerland Key based on its proximity to Key West and Bahia Honda. We wanted a quiet area, but didn't want to spend half of our vacation in the car. This cottage was perfect. Our son was comfortable on the fold-out leather sofa. We spent every morning and evening swimming in the gorgeous clean pool while we caught some fish from the canal for our dinner. We stayed up late and had dinner under the new tiki hut and fished some more. Everything we needed was provided: pool floats, gas grill, washer and dryer, and ample dishes and pots needed to cook up our catch. Even though the houses around us were occupied, we never heard a peep from anyone. We plan to return next year.

  Excellent place for just the two of you. Very intimate with a fantastic little pool. Easy access to the ocean. Nice dockage with mooring whips (something which others should install renters would live this). Very clean and the owner and manger were both excellent to deal with. If it's just the two of us we will definitely try to rent again.

  The property was relaxing, quiet and close to the activities we were interested in. It was clean, well maintained and fully stocked. If you are looking for a 5 star property, this is not your place. However, If you want a peaceful, safe and comfortable place, this is it. We docked our rental boat, fished all day, went to Bahia Honda for the beach, snorkeled in the canal as well as Looes reef, BBQ the fresh fish and swam in the 80degree pool. We will return!!!

  Reading posted reviews solidified our decision to vacation here; we were not disappointed! The pool was phenomenally clean and strategically located along the canal. At ground-level, the cottage had a great flow pattern and allowed a certain "oneness" with the outdoors. We experienced all the amenities a home can provide including internet availability without a big rental fee. To emphasize, the location is quiet and very private. This is wonderful "home away from home" providing a great opportunity to absorb the ultimate Key experience! Definitely will return :)

  This was the best vacation ever. It was like we were in paradise. The canal was plentiful for lots of fishing. The scenery was breathtaking. The cottage was very clean and it had everything that you needed. It was very private and close to all activities. We will back back for years to come . As a matter of fact we will be back there this April. I want to thank Rob and Gail for giving us an experiance we will never forget. W e recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a piece of paradise.

  We just came back from our stay at this great property. We spent our honeymoon here during the last week of April 2010 and we absolutely could not have been happier. We are a couple in our mid 20's and were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway to spend some time together and that is absolutely what we found. The pool is fantastic and the whole cottage itself was just as advertised and in great condition. We spent the days at the beach (only a very short drive away) or in the pool which was sooooo nice. We have only been back for a week and are already saying how much we want to go back. If you are looking for a super quiet, romantic getaway then this is the place to go. Just fantastic

  We stayed here for a week on our honeymoon in September. It is truly heaven. We spent the bulk of our time in the pool, which is just about the greatest amenity you could ask for. Very quiet neighborhood, gives you a lot of privacy. You're close enough to nightlife if you want to go do things, but you are free to come home to the pool and the grill when you're done with it. We talk about going back ALL the time!
