Siasconset apartment description
Charming cottage apartment for two with lovely views and a beach across the street! Indoor and outdoor living on the deck, walk to the beach carrying just your towel and sunscreen.
A beautiful stroll along the ocean passes lovely Victorian houses on the south bluff, then turn in to Siasconset village for fresh-baked croissants in the morning, fabulous sandwiches for lunch and a baguette for your bluefish pate with cocktails. Three great restaurants just a stroll away. Enormous sky and innumerable stars at night engender a feeling of peacefulness. You won't want to leave!
Siasconset is a little village eight miles from Nantucket town, with rose-covered cottages, winding lanes and charming miniature houses along the way. Hedges, lawns, flowers, children....and no one travels faster than 20 mph. A village you'll never forget and want to return to year after year.
You don't really need a car to explore the island, even here in 'Sconset. Take the jitney or ride your bike to Nantucket town (attach your bike to the jitney coming back, if you like!). America's best-preserved 18th-century town contains beautiful houses, lovely little by-ways, more shopping and dining than you can do in a lifetime. If you love historic architecture there is no more charming and character-filled place to visit than Nantucket.

The Sandpiper cottage was the perfect getaway for our one week stay. You are five minutes walk from from the beach, and it is extremely quiet and private, the road dead ends do that there is very little traffic. It is a one bedroom with a pull out couch, so it was the perfect set-up for me and my 12 year old son. Cottage is not fancy, but was very cute, cozy, clean, and well equipped. Excellent deck for sipping your morning coffee. We rented bikes (not a car) and were able to get everywhere easily, and if you want to go into Nantucket town, you can even take your bikes on the bus from Sconset! Would love to stay there again.

A perfect retreat
A perfect retreat
We stayed at Sandpiper for a week in August 2012 and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Georgia and her family are wonderful hosts. They are helpful when asked and never intrusive on their guests' privacy. Their lot is set immediately across the street from one of the island's more remote beaches, a beautiful and usually deserted setting just a short walk away from the Summer House resort. Great swimming, great place to sit under an umbrella and speed through a beach read. Sandpiper Cottage is maybe an eight minute bike ride from the 'Sconset store, which means it is very quiet and peaceful. And the actual apartment is clean and well-maintained. I can't recommend it enough for a couple that just wants to get away, to read, swim and relax.

About the owner: Our family has been coming to 'Sconset for 28 years, and we hope you will become a repeat visitor as well.
Why the Owner Chose Siasconset:
Sconset is like Brigadoon, the perfect village that only appears once a century. Tall hedges, children on bikes with tennis rackets, an historic church and a strong sense of community and continuity are its major characteristics. Low Beach, where we are, is like big sky country on the beach: the sky and the stars at night are so peaceful. In Sconset and Nantucket we have the best of all worlds: beaches and historic architecture!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
A beautiful, easy walk to the beach or the village; lovely long views and night skies; peacefulness!
