This is the perfect place to stay in Tokyo if you want to experience the city without being overwhelmed by the crowds and the noise. It has stunning views of the Tokyo skyline and the bay from the living room, balcony and the rooftop deck. This luxury apartment has everything you could want, plus there is a grocery store and convenience store within easy walking distance. It is just on the edge of the bay, so you get the views you couldn't get otherwise, plus it is quiet. Then, when you're ready to immerse yourself, the monorail is a 5 minute walk away to take you one station to the entire JR Yamanote circle line train that literally takes you anywhere in Tokyo you need to be. With a JR rail pass, the monorail and entire JR system is included. Brad is also the perfect host, providing any information you need at any time. He even provides the "Brad Phone" to take with you to get in touch with him if you get lost (it can happen in largest city in the world). Brad was really helpful. One of us left a daily prescription at home and Brad got us in touch with an English speaking clinic with doctors and pharmacy on-site. The price was even reasonable, considering we were so far away from home. The fact that the clinic is across the street from Tokyo Tower means we didn't even need to stop our site seeing to take care of things. This is really the perfect luxury place to stay in Tokyo with views, convenience, quiet, and modern conveniences. Highly recommended!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I'd echo others comments. this experience was first class. I had some reservations about making a paypal payment to someone in Tokyo, what if they never showed up and we just lost our money- I should never have been concerned. Brad (the owner) was so helpful and always available with quick responses to email. The pictures DO NOT do this place justice, it's very well appointed, fittings and furnishings are high end and Brad has gone the extra mile to provide instructions and guidance on everything from the Aircon., the TV channels line up to getting around on the metro. We were there in the Winter so could not really enjoy the rooftop but imagine it would be great to sit out in the summer with a glass of wine. The place is very private, not overlooked and has a fantastic view. it's a 10 min walk to the monorail and then a stop to the metro before you really get heading into downtown. so a trip into town can take about 30 minutes before you really get anywhere and as it's different lines you need to pay separately for the monorail. Worth noting but really not that big of a deal and we got around just fine. I would recommend this to friends and family without a second thought, Best place we've found on VRBO to date.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We truly enjoyed our stay in the Tokyo Bay Penthouse apartment. From the very beginning, Brad was extremely welcoming and helpful in providing us with guidance on how to get around Tokyo. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable with an awesome view! The location was ideal as well, as it was located near one of the main stations in Tokyo. I would highly recommend this apartment, and will look forward to staying here again during our next visit!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We spent two weeks here and had a wonderful time. The owner gave us very clear instructions on how to take the train from Narita and met us at the apartment. He provided very detailed instructions on getting around and where to find the things we needed. For Tokyo, the apartment is huge. We were the envy of our local friends. It has spectacular views in both directions. I spent my down time checking emails and listening to music on the balcony and rooftop deck. It's less then a 10 minute walk to the monorail station and we had no trouble getting around the city. All in all the apartment was very well appointed and exceeded my expectations in every way. I would recommend this location to anyone coming to Tokyo.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is a great place to stay in Tokyo, relatively convenient, quiet and super roomy. This is a one bed room penthouse, that can sleep 4 in the master bedroom (2 doubles) comfortably. The kitchen has all the appliances you would ever want, the washer/dryer was super useful during our trip as we packed light clothes wise, free calls, beautiful patio and terrace, English cable channels, wireless internet, impressive automatic toilet :) and large soaker tub. Location was decent, not much of night life but convenient enough with a 24 hr grocery store and food court nearby. The land owner Brad was super accommodating to us and a great person. Highly recommended place~! and I have recommended to my friends and family already.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband, 3 and 6yo daughters, 15yo niece and I stayed here for a week and couldn't have been happier. The apartment is generously sized for a group. We found the bedroom, with its two very large mattresses, was perfect for my husband, daughters and I. We set up our niece on a very comfortable air mattress in the study area and there was still plenty of room for living space and even other mattresses if required. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were very clean and well organised. The bath/shower area is accessed through the bedroom but this wasn't a problem after we had settled into a routine and the immense bathtub was our favourite place at the end of a busy day exploring chilly Tokyo. The apartment owner is English speaking, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable on all things Japan. He happily offered advice and assistance when we sought it but otherwise left us to our own devices, which was exactly what we were after (thank you!). There are plenty of guide books provided in the apartment too. Access to Wi-Fi and a computer was an unexpected surprise. The views over Tokyo were seriously breathtaking and, from what we saw, quite rare for accommodation in Tokyo. The children found it lots of fun to go up to the roof and catch snow flakes. The apartment location is slightly out of the way BUT there is a bus stop a few steps away from the front door with a bus that leaves every six minutes to the nearest major train station (this station has access to the Shinkansen, very handy if you're keen to trip out of Tokyo for the day or a weekend). The smaller local station, monorail station and supermarket can all be reached within a 10 minute walk. The supermarket also has a children's park next door, handy to keep children occupied. An ATM, convenience store and restaurant/pub are about 5 minutes away in a hotel/apartment complex. Overall we loved staying at this beautiful apartment and as the trip organiser, I was extremely satisfied with my good find! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this apartment to families, groups and couples keen for a very comfortable and relaxing stay in a vibrant and fascinating city.Did you find this review helpful? I was more than pleased with my stay at the Tokyo Penthouse. I do have to say, I was a little reluctant to book a place through the internet at first and send a deposit via paypal before even seeing the place or not knowing if was possibly a scam. Everything ended up working out very well. It is located in a residential/industrial neighborhood. The place is a 5 minute walk to two metro stops and a monorail stop. From these stops it is not more than a 10 minute ride to Ropongi or the Ginza. It is also about 5 minutes walk from a couple restaurants and a food store. Place has a great deck and rooftop view of Tokyo Bay. The place was roomy and I didn't feel cramped. Bedroom was big and the bathroom had a great open shower. The living room had an L-shaped couch and a Sony flat screen with cable. When we landed I sent the owner an e-mail and he met us at the place to show us how everything worked. The place even had some videos added to the in house computer showing you how to get to the metro and stores. For the price of a small hotel room, you really can't beat it. I would recommend this place to any of my friends or family visiting Tokyo. I actually already recommended the place to my parents when they visit Tokyo.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are looking for a luxurious place to stay in Tokyo with spectacular views, conveniently located to transport, restaurants, convenience stores & full supermarket, with kitchen and laundry facilities, heating or a/c throughout and more than enough space for 2 adults and 3 children (ours were 11,9 & 7), at an affordable price, with an owner attentive to detail, then look no further"..........seriously. You won't regret it. Just book it now. If you're unsure about visiting Tokyo at all, again, just do it. It is an amazing city, full of things to do and see for all ages. The people are polite, helpful, attentive and the city and transport system has more than enough English to get by. Day trips to MT Fuji and Nagano to see the snow monkeys (Google Zeno Snow Monkey Tours) are a Bullet train ride away from Shinagawa Station. Eating out is not expensive and the food options are mind boggling. Tokyo loves shop and there are no shortage of opportunities to spend your hard earnt cash. Ginza and Shibuya have lovely high end offerings. For bargain shopping the area just south of Ueno station offers alley shopping we found good for shoes, clothing and business shirts, as well as some of the centers at Diabo. Kids will love Disneyland, Disney Sea, Kiddyland at Shibuya, Toyota World at Diabo, Snow Monkeys near Nagano (See above), Tokyo Tower, the trains, the food. I hope you decide to experience Tokyo. We'll definitely be back, and we'll definitely be staying at the Tokyo Bay Penthouse. Just do it!Recommended for: Families with young children.

My new husband and I wanted a nice place to stay in Tokyo for our honeymoon, as we've both dreamed of visiting there since we were little children. I couldn't believe my luck with this apartment; it was nicer, cleaner and had better views than any other place I've stayed abroad, including Vancouver, Rome and Paris. The owner is incredibly thoughtful and helpful, providing area walking maps, videos showing door-to-door routes to the local market, restaurant area and train station, and the views from the rooftop are unparalleled. The place comes with a full kitchen and laundry facilities, but the real star is the gorgeous bathroom with a tub big enough for two and a shower that rivals any in the five-star hotels I've visited. Beyond the numerous amenities, the location is fantastic; it's easily walkable to and from the nearest large train station (Shinagawa), which is a virtual city in its own right full of stores, restaurants and access to the Shinkansen (bullet train). One tip: print a map of the local area in Japanese to give cab drivers and make sure the location is clearly marked to make late-night journeys to and from the station easier. Even with late-night cab charges, the cost for a taxi ride to and from the station was less than 1800 yen (about $20) even after getting lost once and circling back. Daytime fares are closer to 1100-1230 yen, depending on driving time. And the Internet and phone connections are clear and fast, easy to use -- just don't forget the time difference like we did and wake the family up back home at 4 a.m. :)! Cannot recommend this apartment enough; in fact, we plan on visiting again, hopefully in the near future. The owner made us feel truly special by arranging for a Christmas tree and decorations to be delivered during our stay, which made it that much more like home during our visit, along with champagne glasses to celebrate our honeymoon. Magical!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Everything was exactly as expected, and more. So often one rents properties and can have been misled or the owner has exaggerated what they can offer. But this apartment delivers what's expected. But the real source of comfort is the owner who really does provide assistance where needed. Japan, especially Tokyo, can still be a little daunting even when this isn't your first trip, so it's very nice to have someone who is only too willing to assist with every eventuality. We should be returning to Japan in the future on business, and depending on our commitments within the country we would have no qualms with renting this apartment again if needed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
