This home is a large spacious 3200 sf ocean front home in mid-900 block of West Cliff Drive, sleeps 16 in beds, steps to the beach, sunset views of Monterey Bay, close to downtown, West Side of Santa Cruz, 3 mile walking path along water, Saturday Westside Farmers Market, Wine tasting, close to wharf, Boardwalk, Redwoods, and much, much more!

Beaches: Two beaches are within one block. The beach at Mitchell's Cove is visible from the deck of the property is about 100 yards to the stairs. Main beach, wharf & boardwalk are 8 blocks.
Bring binoculars to watch the otters, dolphin and whales from the balcony.
Jackets are needed in the evening all year round in Santa Cruz.
Parking: The maximum number of vehicles is four (4) - two in the garage and 2 on the driveway. Overnight on-street parallel parking is allowed. Guests are asked to park in the parking spaces across the street during daylight hours then move their cars to on-street parallel parking overnight.
Pets: Pet fee is not included in this quote unless stated. Well-behaved pets are welcome with prior approval. The fee is $75 per pet/ maximum 2 pets. Pets are not allowed on furniture, may not be an annoyance to neighbors and may not be left unattended for any length of time.
Rates: The rates on the website are current and are also provided below for your convenience. Local TOT of 11% added to nightly rates. Additional nights beyond the minimum stay requirement are charged at the same nightly rate. Transaction fee of 3% applies to payments made by Credit Card.

A copy of the renter's drivers license (or passport overseas travelers) is required when returning the contract.
Cancellation: Should you wish to cancel this reservation, notice of cancellation MUST BE IN WRITING AND RECEIVED MORE THAN 90 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE. A refund will be made less 20% of the total charged plus any transaction fees. Should you wish to cancel this reservation less than 90 days but more than 60 days prior to your check in, notice of cancellation MUST BE IN WRITING AND RECEIVED MORE THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE. A refund of the sums you have paid will be made, less a $1000 cancellation fee and any transaction fees. If your notice of cancellation is RECEIVED LESS THAN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO YOUR CHECK IN DATE no refund will be made. Holidays and graduation weeks are non-refundable. Reservation may be cancelled by owner if Beach House becomes uninhabitable for reasons of damage, weather accidents, or other building failures. Owner may cancel reservation without cause upon 120 days notice. Credit Card convenience fees are not refundable.

This is our second time renting this house because there is a lot of room for big families. We had our family reunion here again and it was perfect. The kitchen is small but really well equipped. The place is right across from the water and we saw whales from the deck. There are dolphins in the cove (see the pictures) you can see from the deck. We walked along the path that runs along the water. In one direction is the wharf, downtown and the Boardwalk. The other direction is very dramatic coastline and ends at the park where the butterflies winter-over. The location is perfect. Close to everything as described in the owners description. We went to Roaring Camp to see the Redwoods, we spent a day driving up the coast to the wind & kite surfing spot - I think it's called Waddell Creek. We rented segways and took the tour - so much fun. Best location, best house (I think there are 3 CalKing beds and the rest are queen size), and best family reunion. We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers.

We stayed here with our family and did not want to leave. The views are gorgeous - the photos do not do justice. The layout of the house provides privacy for the kids, the adults and the grandparents to have space. The kitchen is a small galley kitchen which did not effect us because it is well equipped. The beds are amazing - 3 or 4 california king beds and the rest are queen size. Very nice. There was plenty of towels and games and books. We walked along West Cliff Drive every day. We saw whales from the deck. It was a wonderful family vacation. I hope we can go again soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had such a nice time here. The location was great, house was so clean and well taken care of. Plenty of space for people to sleep and hang out. The beds were comfy. Only down side was that the kitchen was a little small. We'd stay there again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed here for our family reunion. The place is right across from the ocean, the stairs down to the beaches are within a block in either direction. They were not kidding about the views - especially upstairs and from the all glass deck. It is amazing. We spent one whole day on the deck while the grandkids went to the Boardwalk. Everything is really close - there is a great natural food market and a regular supermarket within 8 blocks. The park at the end of the road has monarchs in the fall but they were there . The walk on the path along the water is just gorgeous - about a 3-4 mile walk round trip. The other end of the same road is the Boardwalk, Wharf, Downtown, main beaches - pretty much everything. If you bring bikes - my kids brought theirs - you can bike all over the place. The house has a galley kitchen - has most of what you need. The beds are comfortable and there is bedding/towels for the number they advertise - 16. I think there is actually extra - especially towels. The back "suite" area is perfect for a family. It sleeps 6 by itself! It was just perfect for us and we are already talking about next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.

My family gathered at this beautiful home to celebrate a special birthday. After much research we all agree we chose the perfect location and home for our week together. We noticed minor issues when we arrived and Mary was immediately helpful. Our family needed lots of space because of small children and the bedroom and bathroom arrangements were perfect. The kitchen was well equipped. The dining area was wondeful and sat 7 adults and 4 little children comfortably. We appreciated being able to bring our dog, however, we found when he wasn't being walked he stayed outside in the enclosed patio or in his kennel 99% of the time. Listing was very accurate regarding location. Photos were representative of appearance. Property was very clean and maintained. Owner was very responsive with concerns. I would recommend this property to friends and family. We found the Bittersweet Bistro service, food and ambiance to be excellent. We enjoyed the Boardwalk and took a trip to Roaring Camp. Surfing, dog beach, bike riding, hiking, beaches and lots of fun and laughter were all part of our weeklong visit.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers.

This is an awesome place. The photos of the home are not near as good as being here. The views from the glass deck are amazing and we watched the sunset from the deck last night. It was wonderful. There are several different sleeping area as the ad says. What you can't realize until you are here is that the house extends back from the ocean with a den area and a huge master suite in the back, then there is a 2 car garage and then 2 parking spaces after that. So it feels huge. Upstairs are 2 big bedrooms and 2 full baths. The beds are comfortable and all are firm to extra firm, nothing too soft - which we like. The 5 full bathrooms are great - really nice with all the girls in our group! Huge dining room table then another smaller table means we can all be together for meals. The kitchen is a galley kitchen - well equipped but no more than 3 people can be in there cooking at the same time. The back patio area is big with a BBQ and 2 tables. Nothing fancy but very nice for hanging out while you bbq. The grandkids brought their little trikes and have been riding all over the back patio area which is fenced in with a tall fence. The kids brought their big bikes and have been keeping them inside the gated courtyards in back . All in all - we have voted to come back. It's lovely and because of the various different areas - the family can be together or be in their own spaces. It's just perfect for us.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners.

We stayed early February 4 nights and I hated to leave. The pictures do not do justice. We had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable with several "zones" for the different age groups to gather. The kitchen is a galley kitchen and not huge but it is very well equipped and even has a small LCD TV. We cooked every day since we found the farmers market on the day we arrived. My favorite afternoon was spent on the deck people watching. The beds are all comfortable. There are 3 zones for heat and a fireplace in the living room with a gas insert - very cozy. Walking toward the sunset along the water to the end of the road there is Natural Bridges State Park - monarchs everywhere and a wonderful beach. Walking toward the sunrise along the water you walk by a hot surfing spot, then a few more blocks to the wharf, the Boardwalk and the shuttle to downtown. We even saw the shuttle driving along the road right in front of the house which we found out we could have gotten to go downtown. We loved the farmers market on Saturday and stopped by the downtown Wednesday farmers market as we left town. Downtown is really fun with lots of places to eat - which we hope to try next time, 3 movie theaters, and great small shops. The kids are all asking if we can go back next year. I hope so.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

We had a incredibly wonderful week when we rented the two houses next to each other on West Cliff Drive as an amalgam of the bride and groom's families (occupants aged 8-85) who became well acquainted before the grand event. Both properties were clean and prepared for our arrival. The photos reflect the beauty of the natural surroundings as well as the gracious inner spaces. Being able to accomodate a large group in houses so close to each other was a big plus for us. When we weren't visiting at the large table following a homemade meal, we were out on the boardwalk to explore the beaches and cliffs. Hibernating butterflies at Lighthouse Field, enormous waves, tidal pools, a hike at Big Basin, the Farmer's Market and shopping kept us busy. When we experienced a small problem we recieved a quick return call from the manager and were able to resolve the difficulty in a timely manner. Everyone left expressing the desire for a return visit. Thank you for a marvelous time in Santa Cruz.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.
