This was a great place to relax and get away from it all. The weather was cool enough for a fire in the fireplace and the countryside is beautiful! It is a comfortable and roomy cabin. We took a drive to the state park just up the road - great place to hike or bike - and went into Crozet for breakfast. Our only complaint was that is was a little bit too far from Charlottesville. We were visiting our son there and spent too much time driving back and forth. However, we will plan to visit again when we have longer to stay. Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.

Our family is spread out along the East Coast, so this house was a good central meeting location. It's a wonderful property with all the amenities. We didn't want to leave. There are more than 10 vineyards within a short drive and we had a great day visiting a few of them. We never found the hiking trails on the property, but we did take walk down the country road. The mountain views are magnificent! The fireplace and backyard are amazing, This really is a home away from home. The dogs had fun and got plenty of exercise. We can't wait to come back again when the pool is open. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are looking for a quaint cottage with all the amenities, this is it! We enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave. The fenced yard is perfect for dogs, everything you need is stocked in the kitchen, and the views are phenomenal! I am originally from Charlottesville and it was so nice to bring my children back and show them the area in which I grew up. The cottage is located within a 15 minute drive from Charlottesville and about 10 minutes from Crozet. Ruby is the caretaker for the property and will fill you in on everything you need to know. She does a great job caring for the cottage and knows a great deal about Albemarle county There is so much to do and see in the immediate area such as hiking at Sugar Hollow, multiple vineyards, peach orchards, and the beautiful drive on 250 thru Greenwood to view all the old farms; Mirador, Tiverton, Ramsay, and Seven Oaks. The drive to Afton and Blue Ridge Parkway is roughly 30 minutes, beautiful views at the overlooks and Humpback Rock is at mile marker 5, we were sorry to see that Swannanoa is only open for tours by appointment only. The cottage is not rustic at all, very upscale and so comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and very much up to date. The oak flooring is so exquisite, much detail has been given to the cottage such as the custom window screens, windows, and the solid front door. The mud room is fabulous, it was so nice to have the front-loading washer and dryer. The family room is great for kids since there is a TV, and the living room offers ample seating and plenty of room to spread out. I regret not enjoying a fire in the fireplace but the weather was fairly mild. The cottage is very private, it does sit on a 3 acre parcel with an adjoining 2 acres next door. Great for kids and dogs to run around screaming and playing and no neighbors to bother what so ever. I hope anyone who stays here enjoys the cottage as much as we did, I did not want to leave and we will definitely be back in the near future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home is very well supplied, especially with kitchen supplies. All of the appliances worked well. The weather was cold, but we were able to grill and build a nice fire in the fire place. It sleeps six comfortably. The view from the front porch is gorgeous, and it is within a comfortable distance of many vineyards, which was our interest. The property manager was very helpful, and the house was clean when we arrived. I would recommend this property for anyone wanting to "get away" for a weekend.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

House has two very nice bedrooms and a cozy living room. Kitchen is large with nice pots and pans. Very comfortable place to stay. 360 degree view of mountains and plenty of windows. Back yard has great view of farm and cows when they are out. Nice place to stay, about 8 minutes from town of Crozet and about 20 minutes from Charlottesville. Nice hikes right near by. Thanks for having us.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We loved the cabin with the mountain views. We are from the flatlands of Texas, so we enjoyed the scenery, and the fire at night. The caretaker met us down the road from the house, and explained all the ends and outs of the property. She even recommended restaurants in the area. We would definitely stay here again. It was a great stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We went for a long weekend with our 3 kids-7,5,2. We had a wonderful time. Ruth the property manager was very helpful and kind. The house was well equipped with everything you need. The views are just gorgeous. We spent time in Crozet, Mint Springs Park, C'Ville, Monticello, and an Apple Orchard within 5 mins of the house (Henley's??). The house and surrounding areas is a perfect place to relax and have some great QT with the family. Hope to visit again. Thank You for sharing your home!! (Would also be fun for a couples weekend minus kids to visit the many nearby wineries)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

A great property in a truly idyllic setting. After spending time in Washington and the Shenandoah National Park, this was the perfect place to relax, spend time in the lovely swimming pool, have BBQs and just enjoy the stunning views of the mountains. Ruby, the property manager, was on hand to answer any questions. The house was well maintained and well equipped. The kids absolutely loved the pool and the basketball net. Nearby Crozet has a wealth of great restaurants including the famous Crozet Pizza. The restaurant next to the pizza place is also excellent and very welcoming. Everywhere you turn there are amazing views. This is a really pretty area in Virginia. By far the number 1 place to visit is Monticello. We also enjoyed strolling along the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville and wandering around the beautiful setting of Virginia University, especially the Rotunda. I would strongly recommend this house to anyone who wants to soak up the natural beauty of this area and take time to enjoy the friendly welcome on offer. We had a truly memorable holiday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

What a fabulous property! You can feel your stress slip away as you drive up to the most incredible mountain views! The outside of the property is very well maintained with plenty of room for you and your pet to feel right at home. The inside is very open and bright with huge windows and magnificent views. The home is very well equipped with everything you need including beach towels and floats for the pool! The only thing we weren't able to locate was an iron so you might want to bring one along. The pool was a wonderful bonus. It was very clean and of course surrounded by those beautiful mountains. Sitting out by the pool was the perfect way to begin and end each day. The location is great. You can be at the mall in downtown Charlottesville in 20-25 minutes. A 20 minute drive in the other direction will bring you to Veritas, Afton, and King Family Vineyards or Blue Mountain Brewery, one of our favorite places to eat. Crozet is a lovely little town 10-15 minutes away with a great little coffee shop, grocery store and pretty fabulous pizza. We found Ruby to be very helpful and pleasant. She was waiting for us when we arrived and spent as much time as we needed answering any questions we had. We were very sorry to see our vacation end and can't wait to go back! Thank you LInda for sharing your spectacular home.Owner response: Thank you for your delightful review! It's wonderful to have guests like you who appreciate the peacefulness and beauty of the property and the surrounding area. At your suggestion, we have purchased an iron for the house. We look forward to your next stay.

This is a wonderful place to enjoy yourself, your company and your surroundings. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking with excellent cutlery for chopping, dicing and slicing. The pool was a blast and is isolated from the neighbors for those who prefer privacy. The Property supervisor was very pleasant and a great help in teaching me how to get the satellite working. There were bountiful pamphlets of attractions in the area for those who don't preplan and prefer to "wing it." My favorite attraction was driving to Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Crozet, chatting with the nuns and purchasing some Gouda Cheese made by them. It was beautiful. Having a comfy place to return from the days outings brought about great pleasure and enjoyment. Can't wait to do it again.Owner response: Thank you for your wonderful review. It's a pleasure having guests like you who appreciate the house and the beauty of the area.
