Camp Patasa ("Perch" in Cajun French) is a beautiful non-smoking lakefront home with all the amenities of home in one of the most popular fishing destinations. You can enjoy the great outdoors or just put your feet up and relax in this very spacious house.
You will enjoy the new pier and seawall, barbeque pit, and outdoor chairs. So grab your binoculars and do a little bird watching while sipping on a hot cup of coffee or your favorite beverage.
Of course don't forget to enjoy the incredible fishing. For the golfer, we are located just minutes from the world class Cypress Bend Marina and Golf Resort. Travel a few miles further to Toledo Town where you can find anything you need from tackle to antiques, as well as groceries and gasoline. The restaurants there serve wonderful breakfast, lunch and supper (dinner) with scrumptious seafood buffets and steaks.
This is a spacious four (4) bedroom house with a large living area, fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. In the fall and winter warm those chilly nights and cold feet by the full fireplace in the living room.
Should you choose to venture out, a wealth of attractions and things await you. Natchitoches, LA with all of its historic beauty is home to the multiple week, Christmas Lights show which will dazzle you and your family’s holiday outings. Northwestern State University is also located in Natchitoches, but don’t miss the historic town of Many and Fort Jesup on the way there. Venture South about 45 minutes and see Leesville and Fort Polk, the home of our brave and heroic soldiers. Hodges Gardens, for those with a liking to flowers and beautiful landscape is also minutes away. To the North, drive to Zwolle and attend the famous Tamales’ Festival in the fall. The kids can also enjoy swimming at the beaches at Cypress Bend Marina and at the Louisiana Visitors Center at the foot of Pendleton Bridge all within a short distance from Camp Patasa.

My family and I stayed there during the Thanksgiving holidays 2011 and enjoyed every minute. The home is absolutely beautiful. We had plenty of room to stretch out and relax and forget about our worries back home. As an owner of a service business myself, I recognize the importance of complimenting people who not only do a good job but go the extra mile to make their guest's stay inviting. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say: "I will be back" especially since the water is up and the fish are biting. Who could ask for more than sitting on your deck, watching the radiant sun set, while jerking on a sac a lait and sipping on a beverage. I would recommend this place to friends and family. Our family had such a great time in your home. The kitchen, bedrooms and living area and outdoor space were awesome. We ate, slept and fished and were very comfortable, as if it were our own home. The listing for this property was spot on in describing the location and amenities of the house. The photos posted, although very nice, just do not do this beautiful place justice! What a wonderful location, on the lake, amongst the trees! All our expectations in a vacation rental were met. The kitchen was fully equipped to handle any cooking situation we had. We had a great girls weekend in this nice, clean, comfortable getaway!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

I stayed in this rental a few months ago and found it to be cozy, well maintained, and very spacious. The kitchen and bathroom were very clean! The beds were very comfortable and the morning view is amazing!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This cabin is less than ideal. The circa 1960 decor (including mauve carpet and orange wall paper) is certainly not visually appealing. The property is not maintained, therefore, it appears run-down and shabby. The "master" bath had feces caked on the walls. One could actually see hand and fingerprint in fecal matter. I can guarantee we left that cabin in an even better clean state than which we found it, however I am having no luck contacting the owner to inquire on the whereabouts of my deposit refund. I have emailed and phoned with no response. I was guaranteed the deposit would be refunded within 15 days of departure. It has been well over that amount of time and I still receive no response or refund from the owner. This cabin is not recommended.
Owner response:This is the first we heard of a complaint and it came after our accountant's tardiness in refunding the deposit. It was 6 days late and we say mea culpa. We had no calls during their stay even though they had the owners' and manager's numbers. Our house keeping service assured us that the camp had been cleaned before the renters arrived as is the custom and all was in order. We had subsequent renters within a week and all was as advertised and expected. Yes the decor is not of the 2010 vintage, but it is clean and maintained. The pictures on the website are accurate and unfortunately show only a picture of bass being hooked and do not reveal any Rembrandt's painting to the apparent dismay of the reviewer.
