Every vista is breathtaking starting with your coffee and a sunrise on the back porch overlooking the Madison river where you will see fly fisherman trying to tame one of the best trout rivers in the world with their talent. The cabin with it's warm and inviting logs and wood floors has a vaulted great room with a large stone fireplace that warms your experience as you take in the wildlife from it's cozy refrain. Large porches for relaxing and an outdoor kitchen keep you one with nature but the modern amenities of the indoor kitchen may keep you cooking inside with the most modern appliances and all the comforts of home to rustle up meals for your cowpokes. With 3 bedrooms one of which is a large master with private balcony and loft for a cozy workspace and an additional loft bed and full basement there is plenty of room for all your cowboys and girls. Wi-Fi and huge screen tv's are at the ready for your indoor crowd too. Sunwest Ranch is a private ranch with gorgeous homes and unparelleled views of the nearby mountain ranges. At 5000+ feet you will feel on top of the world and a part of the mountain and seeing wildlife like herds of Elk and an occasional Moose make this a place like no other. There is plenty available to do with snowmobiling, hiking, floating the river, nearby lakes to fish or picnic by as well as Antiquing in historic Virginia City and of course day trips to Yellowstone National park and Big Sky offer fun things to do no matter what time of year! The Montana experience is truly 'BIG' and having your own cabin on top of the mountain doesn't get much bigger.

Our hunting group stayed in this awesome "cabin" last fall and we were very impressed to a man with the no expense spared yet still rustic feeling to this house. Everyone had their own space, with all the modern amenities of today's lifestyle. We plan on staying in it again this fall. We totally recommend it. The listing photos really do not show how nice this cabin really is. The owners have been fabulous to visit with and Very helpful with any and all questions we had.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We stayed in your wonderful mountain lodge last summer over the July 4th time frame and absolutely loved it! The mountains are breathtaking and overlooking the river each day was a great way to start and end our adventures out to Yellowstone, Ennis, Big Sky fly fishing and Virginia City. The lodge is spacious yet cozy and we so enjoyed spending time away from everything here. We hope to visit again for ski season and to see Yellowstone in the winter. Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Gary and Kim Live in Tallahassee Florida and we LOVE to fish! Gary found this wonderul ranch while visiting his daughter Lauren while she went to college in Montana. A day trip brought him upon Sunwest ranch and he was absolutely 'hooked' (little fishing humor) and began about the business of building his little dream lodge which turned into a BIG dream lodge and a lot of trips from Florida to Montana and every bit of vacation there for the next couple of years! We absolutely fell in love with the country, the river, the mountains, breathtaking views and yes the fishing although fly fishing the Madison is lifelong learning experience! As an insurance broker and a Nurse/advocate we are on the go all the time...being able to get away from it all and really be away was important and we cherish the time. Gary's dream cabin became a love of our whole family (for us that's 7 kids and now grandkids) and the kids each have their own favorite thing about Montana and Sunwest whether it's the tubing on the Madison, the hiking, fly fishing in yellowstone or down in the ponds on the ranch, each one of them loves this place and we hope they are able to enjoy it for generations to come. One of the funnest experiences we enjoy the most is bringing new people to the cabin whether family or friends and letting them absorb it in and enjoy the peace and serenity and beauty of the blue montana sky, snow topped mountains (even in july sometimes) or seeing the Elk have their calves at the rivers edge or come through the yard. We hope that you enjoy this little piece of heaven here on earth!
Why the Owner Chose Cameron:
Sunwest is located perfectly on the Madison and is close to Ennis Mt where there are activities and festivals and grocery/restaurants etc. It's nice to be a short drive from Yellowstone National park and Big Sky for skiing and snowmobiling as well as Virginia city for antiquing and it's history. So many people in Fl buy cabins in Georgia or N. Carolina and we just really saw that by the time we could drive to those places from nearly anywhere in the US we could get on a plane and be in Montana and be in a place like no other. The Madison Valley is absolutely gorgeous and the views of the ranges and rivers and wildlife were so breathtaking we never ever tire of seeing them in every different season. We wanted a vacation place that was like no other and that is what the big blue sky state offers.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Being able to have your coffee on the deck watching herds of Elk pass through your yard and go out the back door and hike in millions of acres of BLM land or walk down to the Madison river and fish every day is really tremendous. Tucked away in the side of the mountain and as a part of nature is very much food for the soul.
