  Wow, what a beautiful, stunning property. You are in midst of everything yet feel absolutely private like you are in a tree house overlooking the vineyard. The house is incredibly well laid out, elegant furnishings, modern yet so functional and at the same time intimate. It was the perfect romantic getaway.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  We could only stay one night and that was the only disappointing part! We loved everything! The architecture of the house was simple, modern and most importantly comfortable. There were 4 of us who stayed and we all slept like babies in the luxurious bedding! It was quiet and peaceful. We very much enjoyed just sitting and looking out at the wonderful views of the valley. Gretchen was so nice and made it very easy to rent and stay but hard to leave. Thank you Gretchen we will definitely be back very soon!!

  We loved our stay! No lord, what an amazing place. I had hesitated to write such a glowing review because I did not want others to find out but Gretchen was such a nice person that I had too. We had a wonderful time in this little gem. Not for kids (though we had our 8 month old which was great. More 3 to teens not ideal) but def for adults. Location, location, location. Great! We will hopefully be back soon. Thanks to the Liefs to opening your guest home to we common folks :). Bill and Alli

  "Our time at 40 Auberge road was one we will never forget. Overlooking the famed Napa Valley and right above the Auberge resort, the (unbelievable) house was perfectly situated for anyone to either sit and enjoy the scenery, or meander down the hill to enjoy WORLD CLASS wine. We feel so fortunate to have come and stayed here. It was absolutely breathtaking and we can't wait to visit again soon!"

  "I was absolutely blown away by the mesmerizing scenery and the fabulous vineyards! If the view and the location were fantastic, then the home itself was perfect: a literal piece of art etched against the Napa Valley hills! My girlfriend and I enjoyed meandering through the trees to wine and dine at the world class Auberge resort before coming home to gaze at the stars at night. Romantic and relaxing, thank you so much for your hospitality. We will definitely be coming back ASAP!!!!!"

  I was at this house for three days. First of all architecturally exciting, but homey and restful.great to be able to walk to Aubergee for our meals and short distance to nearby wineries for tastings. Great location. We will certainly come again.

  If I ever built a house it would be a copy of this gem in the Napa Valley. Simple and modern and most important comfortable this is better then any 5 star hotel in the neighborhood. Private with commanding views a perfect place for a romantic retreat, girls overnight or finishing your great American novel. It is my go to place when visiting this fantastic area for food, wine and fun.

  Owner response: Thanks very much ..... it really is a special place. We assume by the "5 star hotel in the neighborhood" you are referring to Auberge du Soleil which has been awarded best resort destination in America and where you can walk for your morning coffee or evening cocktail.
