The rest of your party can stay in the 1840s former church which is only steps away. This building features an open floor-plan master suite with kitchenette, circular soaking tub, marble shower, flat screen tv with surround sound, wood stove, original architectural details including tin ceiling,wide plank hardwood floors and historic chandelier and sconces. Heat and central AC. Sleeps 2-4.

We spent a week in this property this past August and the home is truly exceptional. The renovation had just been completed - everything is fresh and beautifully designed down to the smallest detail. The church itself is a jewel - you feel like you're staying in the most exclusive, luxurious but comfortable European villa - right out of a magazine. There is ample space - 2 big living areas, a grand comfortable bed, long dining room table, stunning stunning bathroom - you don't want to leave! And the 2 bedroom house is also gorgeous but completely livable. Loved the kitchen - great appliances, including a coffee maker that made excellent coffee - very important! Each bedroom is beautiful with built-in closets and drawers - ample space. The little touches added to our stay - loads of fluffy white towels and robes, great library of books, wooden hangers, good beach chairs/towels/bags, burt's bees products, etc. Like in a great hotel, everything was thought of. The location was ideal - far enough from Vineyard Haven to feel 'away' but close enough for convenience. Also it was a quick drive to West Tisbury, Chilmark, etc. We loved the Farmers Market on Wednesday and Saturday, etc. And we really enjoyed the close-by pond and beach. Honestly, can't come up with one criticism. The only downside was that we decided to leave early because of Hurricane Irene!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
