  This condo was exactly what the picture shows. Well appointed, modern, quiet and very comfortable. I cant wait to return. I fell in love with San Diego. Now I know where I really want to retire!

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

  My wife and I rented this unit from Mike for six weeks in February 2012. The experience and stay exceeded our expectations in every way. The condo is nicely furnished and located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. It is easy walking distance to lots of great restaurants and bars. We often went out after dark and always felt safe. I must also mention that the owner is very honest and great to work with. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who needs a place to stay in the Gaslamp.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

  I travel to San Diego several times per year for work, and once each year for an extended stay of 3-4 weeks in August. I booked another condo online, and it turned out to be terrible. I went back online and found this jewel. The owners were fantastic and I was able to complete my stay in San Diego with peace of mind. I felt very safe and it was a really great place to stay. One block from Petco park, you can hear the games as you are sitting out on the patio. The entire experience was one of joy and peace after my difficult experience, Mike was wonderful and accomodating. He checked on me from time to time and I did not have any problems. The condo felt just like home when I arrived. Thanks, Mike for a great experience! I was nice to come back to "home" after working long days. I can't wait to stay at this condo again.

  STAY HERE!!! (Except on the dates that we plan to come back and stay again!) From first contact with the owners, we had a good feeling about the communication and rental transactions, and that was consistent throughout to the end of our stay. We have rented from VRBO several times. These owners succeeeded in making our family feel the most at home and as close to being personal guests as you can get with a rental. When I walked in, I was excited because I felt it was even MORE beautiful and spacious than the photos convey. The living room sofa lounge is oversized and comfortable for sleeping. The patio is fabulous and we loved sitting and eating outside. The kitchen was perfect for us and we cooked the majority of our meals for the week. We used the ipad but not the Apple TV (too much fun/to do to watch TV). The parking was such a luxury. I was initially confused where the garage entrance was, but had I not figured it out, I felt completely comfortable calling the owner for help. They proved readily available and flexible. We attend Comic Con (abt. 150,000 people) every year and have stayed with friends or at the Hyatt hotel/Wyndham timeshare. This year we were celebrating our parents 40th anniversary that week too, and found that this condo was the best way to accomodate all of our needs and our budget. This by far was our best lodging experience during the convention. It truly went beyond our expectations and was a much better value than staying in the hotels or timeshares. You cannot beat the location, and we felt like we were "living" in the center of all the action, but could close the windows when we wanted peace and quiet. Walking to the convention center, seaside village, Petco Park, Ralphs grocery, and popular restaurants and nightclubs are a breeze. It's also convenient to set up a home base here and travel to other destinations such as Balboa Park, Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, Mission Beach, the universities/colleges, etc., which offers you a good mix of urban and scenic experiences. PROs: location, owner's care and communication (hospitality), comfortable size, feeling of spaciousness and homeliness, patio, shower, comfortable bed, security, parking, kitchen, technology CONs: none for us

  I was looking for a place to stay while attending a conference at the San Diego Convention Center and it doesn't get any better than this. I've stayed at the Marriott Hotel and Marina in the past and it actually took me LESS time to get to the convention center from this condo. Seriously. The owners are a really nice family and they went out of their way to share information about all of their favorite places around town. Aside from the fact that this condo is beautifully furnished and will make you wonder why you didn't book an extra day, there are a few extra things I'd really like to point out. First of all, the building is very secure. As a single woman traveling alone, I felt very safe there at all times because you cannot gain entrance to the building or even ride to various floors on the elevator without a sensor device. In the evenings, security door men are there to greet you and they do an excellent job of deterring potential loiterers. Secondly, the Orange Line has a stop that is literally two minutes away from the front door, but even better is that I don't really remember being able to hear trains from inside the condo. Even though you'll be in the center of all the action, the condo itself is still a quiet restful place. Last but certainly not least, I visited a few friends that rented other condos in the Gaslamp and this one far exceeded the others because it was much bigger and far from just a glorified hotel suite. Even the patio alone was three times bigger than anything else I had seen. It's literally the length of the entire condo, complete with a full set of patio furniture and well manicured plants! Stay here. You'll love it.
