Come on up and enjoy the view of Sierra Blanca and surrounding peaks. The Sierra Vista Heights Cabin is located on the top of a mountain ridge on a cul-de-sac next to the Lincoln National Forest, giving it a secluded feel, yet it is just minutes from the Ruidoso shops and only 17 miles from Ski Apache. Enjoy a meal or your morning coffee on the deck or watch the sun set behind the Apache Bowl on Sierra Blanca after a day of skiing or riding, shopping in the quaint Ruidoso shops (just 4-5 minutes away by car), or just relaxing and enjoying the view from the deck!
Inside, the cabin has two living areas with paneling and wood trim throughout. The large living room has a wood burning stove, sofa, the main dining table and two day beds. The adjoining den has two rocker/recliners, a small sofa, flat screen HD TV with 120 channel satelitte service along with HBO and Starz movie channels, and a DVD player, all with stereo/surround sound! Families enjoy this layout -- the adults can chat around the dinner table (in the living room) or on the deck while the kids play games or watch TV or a movie in the den.
Bedrooms: The large master bedroom with king-size bed has a picture window with views of Sierra Blanca and a door to the deck. The cozy second bedroom with a queen bed has built-in closets and drawers, and cable TV with movie channels. The kids' size third bedroom has a double bed with built-in closets and cabinets that kids enjoy putting their toys in. Please note that you need to walk through the kids' bedroom (or the master) to access the second bedroom. (Please see video tour for more interior pictures.)
If you're looking for a clean, well-maintained, and tabaco-free mountain-top cabin that's 5 feet from the Lincoln National Forest yet minutes from the Ruidoso shops and Ski Apache, all at a price that's little more than a hotel, you've found your vacation home!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin a lot. It is spacious and clean and has a big deck with a breathtaking view. The owner was very nice and helpful, that made the rental quick and easy. We definitely recommend it and would stay there again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed our stay in this cabin, the view from the rear deck is spectacular. We originally reserved a cabin with Story Book cabins at more than double the price of this cabin. I'm very pleased we ended up changing because we got a chance to pass by the Story Book cabins and while they looked like much newer cabins those did not have the view we had. We ate breakfast out on the deck serveral days and also had a great BBQ. There is an air conditioning unit in the master bedroom - if your hot natured you would want to use, it is a little noisy but my husband and I didn't mind the noise. We enjoyed the shopping near by and also found a small "hole in the wall" restaurant that served authentic Mexican dishes called Disco Taco it's not far from Wal-Mart on Sudderth on the opposite side of the street than Wal-Mart. If you have the time go to Carlsbad Caverns they are definitely a sight to see and also the White Sands Nat'l Monument in Alamogordo - try the "disc slides" we had lots of fun doing this - try to go later in the day when it's not so hot!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Many guests find the wood panelled walls and ceiling in the older part of the cabin charming. We are continually updating appliances (including new refrigerator, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, flat screen TV and several small appliances within last 18 months)! We had a wonderful time at your cabin. We are already thinking about our next visit. This has to be the best view on the hill. Everything you need is here except you and food. The owner gives good directions or you will need a GPS. Location alone makes this a 5 star. The weather is another 5 stars (82 degrees high all week). Quite neighborhood. Anything you need in Ruidoso is only a couple minutes away. If you are looking for a place to stay in the Ruidoso area you can't go wrong by staying here.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Given the price of the cabin, you're not going to beat the view. Cabin is older, but well equipped. Owners are helpful if you need assistance. Has laundry room which is a must for long stays w/kids.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The listing was accurate. The photos reflect the rentals appearance. This place is quiet and peaceful. A great place to get away and relax. The property was clean and maintained. The owner was very helpful. Great directions! The property has fast internet service and a new flat screen tv with lots of movie channels. It has a front yard with a visiting family of deer. Bring plenty of bread. They love it. It sits next door to the forest. A great few of Sierra Blanca. It has to be a million dollar view. We had a great time.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: We live in Lubbock, TX and started coming to Ruidoso about 16 years ago for the skiing! We liked Ruidoso so much we bought the cabin 12 years ago. I worked weekends for the Ski Apache Ski School for a number of years then focused on teaching my kids to ski. My kids have been on the Ruidoso Sierra Blanca Ski Team for the last three years, but we are switching to the Santa Fe Ski Team this year, so the Cabin is available for rental this winter season. We'd like to share our love of the mountains with you!
