I really didn't want to leave this home. It is so beautifully designed and well appointed. Needless to say it is immaculate. The floor to ceiling windows in the living room are stunning as are the views of the lake from every window in the house. Beautiful stone walls surround the property and the front and backyard patios are bordered with stone. The grounds are exceptional. There are large hostas and baskets of impatiens and geraniums. Azaleas and native rhododendrum trees with gnarled bark surround the property ensuring privacy and seclusion. And then there is the lake with its tranquil movements. This is truly a sanctuary. Nearby is the town of Wakefield. We found the Belmont grocery store with its gourmet meats and had the most delicious barbeque on the backyard patio. We also found Casey's restaurant which serves the best fish and chips in New England (my opinion). Much of our time was spent on the patio where we sat and ate and watched as canoes and rowboats passed by on the lake. And my husband spent a lot of his time on the dock, taking the rowboat out and enjoying a swim and an occasional nap. We also took a drive to Narragansett Pier and the port of Galillee, nostalgic places for the two of us. This is the perfect place for us to vacation and look forward to returning again soon.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We have spent several weeks at this beautiful house for the past five summers. The house is spotless, lovely decor, comfy beds, stunning views and the list goes on and on. This is the best vacation house we have ever stayed in. We love taking walks, always spotting deer and great blue herons, sitting on the dock watching the birds, swimming and fishing, or spending time on one of the two patios with stunning views. The owners are lovely people who genuinely enjoy sharing their house and grounds. There is nothing not to like about this wonderful spot. I feel so lucky that we found it and that we can go back year after year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

This cottage is nestled in the woods on the most beautiful and peaceful 60 acre pond. The setting is truly idyllic; the grounds are magnificent and the caretakers couldn't be better! The home is absolutely delighful with its quality furnishings, maple paneling and Frank Lloyd Wright atmosphere. We treasured every moment there including sitting on the dock and watching our son kayak! We didn't want to leave and look forward to a future visit. This property is so wonderful that I hesitated to write this review. Go ahead and enjoy your visit but please respect this incredible place and be good tennants! Someone that visited us there already plans to go back and rent the cottage for a week!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I have been coming to this cottage for the past six years -- this will be our seventh -- and we consider it our second home. Not only is the location absolutely glorious, but the house is beautifully appointed, lovingly cared for (it's as pristine now as it was when we first showed up), and the owners are wonderful. In terms of quiet and private I don't really think you could ask for anything more perfect. Cottage may be a misnomer, as it's really the perfect size house for us to live in forever! We spend most of our time just sitting on the dock or the deck enjoying the beautiful surroundings, but the golfing nearby is wonderful, the beach is great, and the nearby town of Wakefield has a lot to offer (including a great yoga studio and a fabulous ice cream parlor). We plan on returning for as many years as the owners will have us -- and dream of one summer (or fall) staying for a full month or longer! Needless to say, knowing we have this spot to look forward to makes the rest of the working year bearable.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
