We had a fabulous stay at the Kawama Yacht Club, Key Largo, Florida!!! The unit is very bright and allows for the sunlight to come in all day long. In the morning, the deck is shaded which gives you the opportunity to have your morning coffee outside without the direct sun competing with your view of the marina. Likewise the evening sun goes down in direct view from your deck providing for a spectacular evening show every night. The openness of the floor plan provides for a spacious feel and easy for entertaining. The kitchen is well stocked to meet all of your needs. The bedrooms and bathrooms are equally spacious allowing for comfortable living in a breathtaking tropical piece of paradise in the Keys. The friendly community atmosphere of the Kawama Yacht Club enabled us a meet numerous residents as we developed a routine of walking twice a day, swimming in the pool every afternoon and evening, and partaking in the sundown parties on the jetty every evening. Key largo has some of the finest restaurants in the Keys to include several restaurants that are BYOC - Bring Your Own Catch. Fishing just a short distance out in the ocean is nothing short of fabulous and the charter boats can be boarded very near the Kawama Yacht Club. The unit owner, Jim, is great to work with if you have any questions as he promptly responded to all of our phone calls and emails as we prepared for our stay and he even called when we arrived to make sure that everything was ok. As a result, we have already arranged to stay in January 2014 as we have found that Key Largo and the Kawama Yacht Club is going to be our vacation in paradise for a long time.Did you find this review helpful? We enjoyed our stay in this property. It was just as pictured and described. The owner was responsive to all questions and emails. It was very spacious and quiet from one bedroom to the next. There were all the pots and pans you'd need to cook most meals. Having a washer and dryer in the condo was very convenient after diving. The balcony was a great place to air out wet dive gear. We dove with Rainbow Reef which I recommend. There are plenty of towels and extra blankets/sheets in the condo. All the linens were really nice. Beautiful sunset views seen from the living room and ocean/marina view from balcony area. Quite the view from the fourth floor! Internet worked best in living room, not quite as well in master. We only watched TV before bed and the TV seemed big enough for bedroom. The beds were firm but we didn't find them uncomfortable. We definitely slept well after a day of diving. We visited during off season and the property was very quiet with very few people using the amenities. The outside of the property was marked with orange X's all over it. I assume it must be getting painted/repaired soon. We checked out the lagoon - water was really cold (in November) so we didn't try to snorkel or swim in it. We did see a large Tarpon from the shore though. The heated pool was great (really big, too) and very well maintained. This condo was a good value - I highly recommend.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We had a lovely time at this rental home.Everything was very clean and tastefully decorated. It is conveniently located close to the attractions and grocery stores.Due to the hurricane our return flight got cancelled. The owner was very kind to us and extended our stay. The space near the living area and patio were perfect for the kids(ages 2 and 4).Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this condo for five nights in mid-September. Jim was very quick to respond to my initial requests for information, and booking the condo was quite easy. "Check-in" to the condo was also very easy; the front gate had our information when we arrived, and getting the key and into the unit was simple. The unit itself is very comfortable. It's clean and well-maintained. It's also very large. It could easily accommodate 6 people, maybe even more. We were only 2 people, so we had more space than we needed. We were in Key Largo to scuba dive, so we loved having the extra bathroom because we could store our gear in the extra bathtub and not worry about getting the place wet. The unit is also very convenient to the marina from which our scuba boat (Scuba-Do dive company, also highly recommended) left; it was just a couple minutes away by car. We ate breakfast and lunch in the condo every day, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The balcony, though small, had nice views of the sunset. We found the bed to be comfortable (on the firmer side, but that's what we prefer), and the sheets, towels, bath rugs, etc. were all new and clean. As one person noted, the televisions are on the smaller side, but we don't go on vacation to watch TV, so it didn't bother us. As for the Kawama Yacht Club itself, I wouldn't call it luxurious, but it's nice. The grounds are well maintained. The pool was also very well maintained. I personally wouldn't swim in the lagoon, but it was nice to walk around and look for fish, crabs, lizards, etc. The "beach" is a bit worn down (I'd call it more of a water access area than a beach), but it's pretty typical for the Keys (which are great for water sports but not where you want to go if all you want to do is lie on the beach). Location-wise, the place is well situated, with most restaurants, shops, etc. in Key Largo within a five-mile radius. Overall, we thought it was a great place to stay in Key Largo and a fantastic value, and we'd definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed our stay here. I have already recommended to several friends!! If you go, go deep sea fishing with Captain Buzzy! He is located by the Holiday Inn on the main road!! The owner was very helpful with questions you might have. Thanks again and we will be backRecommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The condo was perfect for my party of seven. Spacious, clean and very comfortable. We spent many hours in the salt water lagoon and the pool, which was always clean. The kitchen was well equipped as far as utensils were concerned, however, we were left with no replacement garbage bags and only one roll of toilet paper. A trip to Publix solved this travesty. We would definitely recommend this condo to friends and relatives.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Paradise not exactly. Located in Key Largo perfectly. Wonderful site with gated security. Beautiful lagoon about 50 yard long loaded with lobster and tropical fish, very large fish. condo is large airy and spacious for the price. Unfortunately didnt like the following. Ice maker in freezer not working. Not a single cookie pan for baking cookies or breakfast biscuits. There are three TVs one in each bedroom and living room. The one in the living room same size as others a little bigger than a laptop. You have to sit right next to it to watch TV. The living room has a huge sofa couch and one chair to pull up to the TV that is a patio type rattan chair, half broken, very uncomfortable. My biggest complaint is the bedding. The beds are hard and very uncomfortable, the sheets thread bare, the pillows amongst the worst, small, no flufff or comfort. Lastly, the rugs in the master bedroom bath needed a washing, which i did in the free washer dryer outside the unit. Not what i would call paradise. Would not stay again.Owner response: I appreciate your input!! I take my rentals very seriously, and want everyone to have a great experience. In response to your review, I have done the following: 1. Purchased and replaced all new bedding sheets, comforters and pillows. 2. Purchased new cookie pans. 3. Purchased and replaced all bathroom rugs. Thanks again for your input!! Jim.

My wife and I stayed here for a week in October. The rates were VERY reasonable, the condo was nice and comfortable ( the balcony was almost non-existant but no big deal ) the owner was very cooperative, and the Kawama property was very nice. Snorkeling in the lagoon was fantastic with all of the big friendly fish, and the fishing off of the jetty was pretty good. Caught some nice fish. It makes me want to live here. Also, rent the golf cart for the week. It makes getting around on the property much easier, especially when carrying snorkeling or fishing gear around. Lots to do nearby also.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I have been going on an annual fishing trip to Key Largo for the last 12 years with 3 friends. We have stayed in various condos and hotels through the years but this condo was, without a doubt, the beast accomodation with the best price. The condo was located a 1/2 mile from the dock, centrally located and right off the main drag. The accomodations were clean and well stocked and the rental agent, Jim was great to work with throuhout. We plan on booking this unit every year we go from now on and cannot overrate our experience! Talk to you next year, Jim, but don't be surprised if you see some of us coming down in between with our wives.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Key Largo was the perfect place to explore the rest of the Keys and yet not be too far from Miami. Everything was handy: grocery stores, restaurants, a Starbucks at the corner. The condo has large rooms and the kitchen is well equiped - we chose to eat in some days and had everything we needed. A nice pool is right nearby a few steps from the elevator. A corner balcony gets the afternoon sun - a great place to sit and relax. We also were able to see the sunsets, some of which were quite spectacular. There were only 2 of us, so we used the 2nd bedroom to lay out our suitcases and our purchases, but there would have been plenty of room for more people. All in all a very comfortable, clean and relaxing place to stay and dealing with, Jim, the owner was great - everything was handled so professionally and timely.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
