Property description

Casual 3000 sq. ft. renovated 4/3 home. The house has two large light-filled living rooms, a new kitchen, breakfast area, reading nook and four bedrooms. The dining table seats ten. The breakfast table overlooking the backyard seats four. Relax in the private back yard. Dive into the pool. Relax with friends in one of the three seating areas - around the fireplace, dining table for six and by the pool... and a hammock, of course! The front yard has the breeze coming off the river and beautiful sunrises. There is a seating area and dining table! Walk to Mt. Bonnell. Brightleaf Preserve is to the north. Five minutes down Balcones is the Austin Contemporary. Two minutes from MOPAC. Ten minutes to downtown. Quiet relaxing neighborhood.
Bedrooms- one with a king-size bed and private bath, one with a queen-size bed, a master suite with a full-size bed and private bath, room for two air beds if needed. Fourth bedroom is our office but can be set up with either set up with a queen-size airbed or two twins.
Look for the bowling balls in the front landscaping.

I ask guests to forward a $500. deposit check two weeks prior to arrival. Assuming all is well on our return I simply tear up the check and return it to you. We find this the simplest way of dealing with the deposit.

No smoking or pets are allowed on the property. Two of us have serve asthma and it effects our health. Evidence of pets or smoking will incur an extra cleaning fee. Thanks for understanding.

About the owner: Both my husband and I are researchers at UT. Our son rounds out the family, making us a quiet geeky, threesome.

Why the Owner Chose Highland Park West:
We bought our house just two and a half years ago. Seeking a quiet pleasant spot that was an easy jaunt to UT, and our son's school. We had long had our eyes on this neighborhood with its wooded feel and convenient location. When this home came on the market, we snapped it up.... thinking, sure there are a few minor renovations needed, no big deal. You know how that goes. The older sections of the house we took down to the studs. Windows were added. The newer section were updated and painted. It is not a big or flashy home but it is a light-filled comfortable home with room to spread out. The front and back yards are both set up for enjoying. The ten-foot-deep pool, shaded sitting areas and BBQ make it a great place for enjoying summer afternoons with friends.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Beautiful neighborhood full of old oaks. One of Austin's best. Enjoy the quiet. Be anywhere in town within 15 minutes. No fighting the traffic. Ten minutes to downtown. Fifteen to Zilker. Same or less to the Arboretum or the Domain with all of its restaurants and shops. Less than 20 - 30 minutes to airport and F1 Track, depending on the time of day.
