My husband, 20 year old daughter and I rented for a week in August 2011. Our adult son and his girlfriend also joined us for a long weekend. Plenty of bedroom/bathroom/living space for all. We chose Jamestown for logistical reasons (we were juggling family members coming from NYC, Boston and Connecticut) and were happy to discover it worked well for our local vacation travel plans as well. We visited Newport multiple times during the week and were lucky enough to be visiting during the Jazz festival. Newport is a quick trip by car, but we took the Ferry to the Jazz Festival and it was as easy and pleasant as possible, literally left us off and picked us up at the entrance to the Festival. Newport is well known as a tourist destination and we took full advantage of the dinning and shopping options. The mansions and cliff walk are also worth a visit. We also took a day trip to Block Island. Again, an easy trip from Jamestown and well worth the time. We were happily surprised by the lovely little island of Jamestown! The village is adorable and has ample dinning options for a week long stay. Keep an eye out for the windmill and "oreo" cows that have the good fortune to have a daily view of the bridge into Newport! We also played a lovely round of golf at the public course on the island. The island is quiet and peaceful. Just lovely. Weather is always a hard thing to count on when planning a vacation in New England and we ended up having a couple of rainy days. That being said, there was only one afternoon that the rain drove us back to the house. How unfortunate??? Not at all!!! The views of the river from the house during the storm were alive! Exotic! One of my favorite memories from the trip!!! The owners were extremely easy to deal with...happy to answer questions and give helpful advice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends and hope my own travel plans bring me back to Jamestown soon. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My family and some relatives just spent a week at Guy's home. We cooked, read, ran, played music, watched the sailboats on the bay, swam at the beach nearby and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is clean and comfortable. The kitchen just the right size for cooking great meals, complete with a rapidly heating gas Weber grill outside on the deck. Guy even provides great advice on where to visit, shop and eat. If you need to house 4-7 people, I highly recommend renting this lovely home from Guy.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
