We have just spent three leisurely, contented, weeks in the above property in Shipyard, Hilton Head. The villa had everything possible to make our holiday enjoyable. It was like a 'home from home'. It is beautifully decorated, with some attractive additions, such as, pictures and ornaments.. The owner has, thoughtfully, even provided a few DVD's, puzzles and books. There is also Wifi (a must for us), tv's in each room and a DVD player. The villa was beautifully clean. It is excellently situated in a quiet corner of Colonnade, very handy for the beach and pool, with attractive views of a lagoon and golf course. Shipyard is such a fabulous area, very beautiful, with an abundance of wildlife, We have seen some amazing birds, alligators, turtles and one day, a raccoon digging (we were told for turtle eggs). This is our 4th visit to Hilton Head, which we adore, and we would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home to prospective renters.

This was our first time on Hilton Head Island. We weren't sure what to expect with respect to the island or our accommodations, but we were not disappointed. We spent over a month at this villa and had a wonderful time. From the time we walked through the door it felt like home. It was clean, cozy and comfortable - it is as described. We had so much fun riding bikes on the beach and just exploring the island - the location of the villa within Shipyard is perfect, it is a 5 minute bike ride to the beach. There is plenty to do on the island - no shortage of restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. In addition, the historic city of Savannah GA is only 45 minutes away. You don't have to be a golfer to enjoy what the villa/Shipyard has to offer. Carl was awesome to deal with - he was accessible and always accommodating. If you are thinking about Hilton Head Island as a destination, we would highly recommend this property as your headquarters. We hope when we return to Hilton Head Island that this villa is available. What a great place! Our first time to HHI and what an awesome island! The pictures and description were dead on, very well maintained, clean and an absolute pleasure to deal with owners -very attentive, great communicators and well worth the money! Truly a 10 minute walk to the beach, 5 minutes by bike, beach club parking pass provided too- easy access to bike/walking beach trail - nice Shipyard beach club. Used our bikes (rented) daily, very quiet location w/ pool/hottub/grill. Used pool daily after beach (not crowded), golf courses nearby. Restaurants - Mellow Mushroom (pizza), Salty Dog Cafe, Black Marlin, Scotts Fish Market. Iif you have kids, hit Shelter Cove on Tuesday nights for local entertainer Shannon Tanner, activities and fireworks right afterward. Highly recommended, we'll be back!!

A really well maintained and clean villa close to many amenities; beach (5 mins), beautiful uncrowded pool, and bicycle & walking trails. Very private balcony overlooks a pond with good view of a golf course in the distance Excellent communication provided by the owners -- greatly appreciated. The listing information, pictures and instructions were accurate and very representative of the property Villa is located in a secluded part of Shipyard with hardly any people and/or automotive traffic; very quiet! Yet within a nice walk to Coligny plaza for shopping and lots of restaurants. The toll road is within a few miles making it very quick & simple to get to the mainland to access the big box stores and more golf courses Highly recommended

A wonderful, clean and very well equipped condo. It is perfectly located near beach and golf as well as all other amenities. The listing accurately represents the property and the owners could not be more helpful. Having rented condos / villas in Hilton Head many times in the past this is definitely our favourite. I have already highly recommended this property to friends.

Very comfortable, clean and bright condo with nice size rooms and large kitchen with new appliances Great Location on the Island! The property is well maintained with a beautiful pool. Close to shopping, great restaurants, beautiful beach, etc. If you like biking, you can rent bikes on the Island or bring your own and enjoy biking on the paved trails or bike on the beach. Our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay longer!

This is one of the best you will find in Shipyard. The accomodations fullfill your needs for a peaceful/restful/active stay! It is wonderful to relax on your porch and enjoy the tranquility of the lagoon as well as the easy one half mile walk to the beach. Walking or riding bikes is great, plenty of trails and Coligny plaza is close and fun to visit, (try the Frosty Frog for a frozen drink!), or Steamers for lunch! There are several restaurants, something to please everyone. We especially liked The Boathouse, Charlie's, The Smokehouse,The British Pub for fish and chips, and we shared a wonderful Reuben sandwich at Kelly's, right off island in Bluffton! If you are hesitant in your choice, no need to think anymore, you will totally appreciate all that this unit has to offer, We looked at many units, this is the place to choose for your next visit to the island! Thank you Carl & Virginia, we can't wait to return in 2012! Many happy returns to all that choose this unit!

This condo is exactly as advertised! My husband and I have stayed here for at least six years and each time walk away 100% satisfied. Couldn’t imagine any other condo on the island being as nice as this one. The pictures show how beautifully it is decorated, everything you could possibly need and more. We loved the new, big, flat screen TV in the living room and the recently redecorated bathrooms. This condo is close to everything you might want: 10 minute walk to the beach (5 minutes by bike), terrific restaurants and shopping close by at Coligny Plaza. We love lunching on the condo porch and can often catch the alligator sunning himself on the bank! Kitchen has new appliances as well as most kitchen gadgets to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner in the condo if preferred. This condo is always clean, property well-maintained with a beautiful pool. This owner provides phone numbers for an on-island property manager should anything be amiss during our visit which doesn’t always happen with rentals. Also, this owner makes the booking process easy and immediate. We also appreciate having a washer/dryer available. We visited Pickney Island during our last visit in November 2010 and enjoyed it very much. Since we’ve visited Hilton Head for years, we like to bike more than golf and find the biking within Shipyard lovely as well as around the island. Some of the restaurants we always visit are Hugo’s, Aunt Chilada’s, It’s Greek to Me, Hudson’s, and Stellini’s. Also, we call ahead to Billy’s Bikes and reserve our bicycles online --- then, they have them waiting for us the day of our arrival…way cool! I would have absolutely no reservations recommending this property to my family or friends. I promise you will not regret choosing this condo for your vacation!

We enjoyed the villa during the first week of November 2010 and had a fabulous time! The weather was 70 degrees and sunny the entire week. We found the villa itself to be bright, clean and well furnished. We don't golf, so had no trouble finding other activities to occupy ourselves. We enjoyed eating at several area restaurants like 'The British Open Pub' and 'The Jazz Club', both of which are an easy walk or bike ride from the villa. The beach is spectacular and is literally a 2 minute bike from the villa. We rented bikes and loved riding on the beach during the late afternoon as the tide went out and the sun went down! Amazing! One day, dolphins swam and cavorted all along the beach within 50 feet of the shore. We watched them in awe for an hour. On another day we enjoyed the old city of Savannah, and found Old Town Trolley Tours to be a good choice. Our week was wonderful and we have no hesitation in recommending it! We'll definitely return!

The previous reviews are very accurate. The condo was clean, spacious, homey and well located. Beautiful king sized mattress in the Master suite was very comfortable. Stayed the first week in Sept and weather was warm and sunny. Nice shaded walk from condo to the beach and the beach was clean and not overcrowded. Shipyard has washroom facilities at the entrance to the beach. Every morning we had a nice quiet coffee on the deck over looking the lagoon and golf course. Golfed at Palmetto Dunes and Shipyard Plantation, both golf courses had great service from the time you dropped off your clubs until the end of your round. Many more courses near by in Bluffton which is only 16 miles away . We ate at some excellent restaurants ; Micheal Anthony,s , Truffle Cafe, Frankie Bones and Smokehouse. All had great food and service. So much to do on this unique island. One week has tempted us to come again and explore the area more. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday this Island can't be beat. Thanks Carl and Virgina for the use of your home away from home. Plan to be back soon. andrew and shelley

The villa was clean and well maintained. Lots of natural light in the dining and living areas. The layout easily allowed for our family of five to retire for the night and wake at different hours without interrupting each other. It truly is walking distance to the beach. And the beach area is clean and beautiful. Unlike so many other beaches that get ruined by commercialism, this is a beach you can truly enjoy. There are still the necessary amenities and services available at hand. Great place for a picnic or at sunset. The pool was also frequently visited by our family - clean, lots of seating, amenities on-site. The villa is also close to nearby necessities - supermarkets and pharmacies all within a few minutes drive. I recommend a visit to the Sea Pines area. We spent a day discovering Harbour Town and South Beach. We took a 90 minute cruise of Calibogue Sound highlighted by seeing dozens of dolphins. The captain narrating the cruise was very informative and knowledgeable. Watching a shrimp trawler in the sound inspired a quick visit to a market to buy fresh local shrimp then back to the villa to prepare an excellent meal. It was great to have clean, modern appliances to use. All in all, we truly enjoyed our visit and would be more than happy to stay at this same condo again.

We were very happy with the extremely clean and updated look of Carl & Virginia's condo. They were very prompt in responding to questions during the reservation process and everything was better than expected. We look forward to many more trips to this condo. Easy walk to beach and pool.
