We are right on the ocean! Our cottage overlooks a dramatic seascape and is five minutes' walk from Kehena black sand beach.
Situated just off the famous "Red Road" that winds along the southeast coast of the Big Island, our open, airy, cottage-style home overlooks a dramatic and picturesque seascape. Low lava cliffs washed by spray and ocean surf are at your feet.
We recommend you take your meals on our lanai (deck) while enjoying the changing colors and patterns of the Pacific. Here you can see spinner dolphins glide past and sea turtles bobbing up for air. In the morning watch the sun rising out of the ocean. At night, the sight of great Pacific rollers advancing in the moonlight is pure enchantment.
A five-minute walk takes you to the local beach, nude optional, for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. Dolphins frequent this bay and seem to enjoy the company of respectful swimmers. A few miles along the red road is a world class destination center that offers delicious vegetarian food, yoga classes and massage. Twenty minutes away by car in historic Pahoa town are more great restaurants and shopping.
Our comfortable 5 year-old Hawaiian-style home features a long, covered deck and an open relaxed style. Trade wind breezes cool you on hot afternoons. A private outside shower overlooks the ocean through a screen of naupaka and coconut palms. Indoors our kitchen/dining/living room area provides all the amenities. But please note, altho we offer DVD's and a VCR setup, there is no regular broadcast TV.
We welcome you to this is a gorgeous area where Old Hawaii lingers peacefully on. Come and check it out before the rest of the world discovers Kehena Beach.

10% Kama'aina discount offered.
Additional state tax of 11.25% will be charged.
Non-refundable deposit of half rental charges within 10 days to hold.
