Are you from out of town? Allston is West Boston, a part of the city of Boston. Allston is connected to Back Bay and Fenway neighborhoods by Commonwealth Ave., Storrow Drive and the Mass. Pike [90]. As you move from Back Bay to North Allston, or Lower Allston as it is sometimes called, the houses change from traditional brownstone row houses to a mix of 1880 - 1920 Victorian wood houses.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2004

Your hosts are Richard and Victoria. A 39-year-old married couple who specialize in providing top quality housing in the Allston neighborhood.

Why the Owner Chose Boston

We do rent quite a few apartments, but this is our only short-term vacation rental. We decided to rent our third floor studio short term to have the flexibility to allow our own family to stay there. The short term rentals have been a huge success and we just love doing it. The neighborhood is a hidden gem in Boston - it is just outside of Harvard Square, and a few minutes to Back Bay. Being so close to everything with no traffic noise and only the sounds of birds and crickets amazes most guests, and that's just one of the things we love about this location.

The Unique Benefits of this Apartment

The studio is very comfortable. Somehow, everyone says it seems like home when they get there. Some guests check in, and don't even leave again until they check out. Others use the location as a central launching pad to explore the city. Being right next to Boston University and a few minutes from the Harvard Business School, as well as a short walk to Harvard Square, the studio is perfect for anyone with short-term plans at one of the universities. The studio is also right by the new Allston branch of the Boston Public Library and features a new Library Park just across North Harvard Street.

The studio is very compact yet complete - immaculate and well appointed. We especially appreciated the fresh flowers and "starter" kit of necessities and food. The location is ideal: we walked to a large grocery store, bank, library, bus and trolley lines, many restaurants, Harvard and Central Squares. The hosts, Richard and Victoria, are very accommodating and generous. We definitely plan to go back.

Richard, I was one of your first guests and I was more than happy to write a review about the studio on Google. I travel quite a bit, (not usually east) and I know short term rentals can be a gamble. The studio was a delightful break from the norm and 'exceeded my expectations' during my one week stay. I don't know when I will get back to Boston, but if I do the Studio in Allston is where I will be staying. Thanks again for your hospitality!

Perfect location, fantastic property and great hosts made staying at the studio one of the best short term rentals I have had. The extras like shampoo, a bottle of wine, loaf of bread, hot cocoa and a decked out kitchen made my stay extra great after a long trip. I am a tough critic and everything here exceeded my expectations and the price was right. I will be back next year to stay another week.

Extremely professional! When we arrived, my boyfriend and I were very pleased with the cozy and comfortable studio apartment, that looked and felt newly renovated. We were especially delighted with the thoughtful amenities that Richard left in our rooms (including shampoo/soap, which we had forgotten to bring along, and the bread, butter, cereal, hot chocolate and other goodies in the kitchen). If you're visiting Boston and want to feel like you're living here rather than being another a tourist staying at a hotel, this is the place to come!

The place was perfectly clean and pleasant. All seems to be brand new and well organized. It has been a real pleasure to stay in that studio and really useful to get to the Harvard campus by walk or bus. The hosts have been very helpful and available at every moment. I'll highly recommend this place for a week or more. Christelle - Paris, France

I have stayed at the Studio apartment from 27th May until 2nd June 2011. It was a very good experience for me and my wife. The hosts Richard and Victoria were extremely helpful and courteous to us during our stay there. I would return to stay in this apartment whenever I visit Boston in the future. The place is very clean and the location is superb for tourists." Thank you Zulkifli and Tengku R******* From Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia
