Black Hills vacation home
Black Hills vacation home
Both cabins had everything we needed for our stay. It was a very peaceful and quiet location. We appreciated coming back to a nice, comfortable place after a day of hiking, biking and sightseeing.

We had a wonderful experience with the 2 vacation homes in Custer for our family of 19. We came from CA, MA, and NE so this was a perfect spot to meet. We loved that the homes were off by themselves in beautiful, peaceful surroundings and to tell you the truth, with 11 grandchildren including 7 teens we were a noisy bunch. The hills were alive with the sound of music literally. The listing description was accurate including the photos. The houses were clean and well maintained and well stocked with plenty of towels, oaoer goods, dishes, pots and pans, etc. The rental agency was very helpful in answering our questions. Our youngest son from Omaha had been in the area before so he was our tour guide. We went to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse for their night lighting shows, loved Custer state park, Sylvan Lake, Needles HIghway, Jewel caves and a hike to the tallest peak in SD. All were great. The only downsides were the 6 mile drive on dirt roads to the cabins and the lack of a field to play outdoor games like ultimate frisbee on the property. All in all though, this was a great place to stay and we would highly recommend it.

Manager response: Thank you so much for a complete review of these two properties. It has been a great location for large families who gather from different directions/States. I do want to clarify one statement. The road to the cabins is a well maintained gravel road, not a dirt road. There are many other homes along the miles of gravel who rely on good roads for access to their properties as well.

The two houses looked exactly as we expected from descriptions and pictures. Communication was excellent as we prepared to rent and stay at the properties. Everything we needed to live there 4 days was provided (except food, of course). Both the Aspen and Ponderosa were very clean and well-maintained. There's so much to do in the Black Hills and all are easy and quick to get to. These houses are several miles off the highway, providing a serene, secluded mountain experience while still being close to activities, towns and services. Our family consisted of 13 people ages 11 months to 64 years, from Nebraska, Iowa and Texas, and all of us had a great experience!

A week at the Aspen
A week at the Aspen
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at this house. It had all the comforts of home. It is well off the beaten path so you have privacy. The location is packed with beautiful views. We travelled to all the local attractions by day and in the evenings gathered in the comfortable living room to watch a movie. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen having everything I needed to make a quick meal. One stop at the local grocery on our way in and we were all set for amazing breakfasts every morning and a few nights we even had dinner there too.

Great Place for ATVs
Great Place for ATVs
Thank you so much for working with us on rescheduling our stay in one of your vacation homes. We were very pleased with our stay and enjoyed it very much. The Aspen was very comfortable, clean, and met our needs. We were able to enjoy riding our ATV's on many trails. We made one mistake however. WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED LONGER!! Thank you again!
